[AN - This chapter is very lazily written because it's not important. And its very boring as well. It's just the Final Selection of the Kamaboko squad, that's it. So, you can skip it if you want.]

TANJIRO'S POV

Two girls, one with white hair and the another one with black hair arrived catching all of our attention. They said in unison,
"Dearest participants, thank you for gathering here to join the Demon Slayer Corps's Final Selection."

The white haired girl said,
"Here on Mt. Fujikasane, we have a lot of demons caught alive by our very own slayers. There is no way they can get out of here."

The black haired girl then said, "This is because wisteria flowers which demons fears the most, bloom all year from the mid of the mountain to the foot of the mountain."

The white haired girl said, "But from this point onwards, there are no wisteria flowers, so demons roam around freely."

The black haired girl said, "If you can survive in this place for seven days, you will pass the Final Selection."

Then, they said in unison, "Thus, we wish you all the best."

As soon as they said that, almost all the aspiring Demon Slayers ran up the mountain.

"I hope we will again at the end, Kanao-san, Aoi-san." I said to the girls and showed them my signature warm smile.

3rd Person's POV

After saying that, Tanjiro turns around runs up the mountain. As he runs up, he is running he thinks, 'For seven days, huh? I need to survive tonight first. Once it's day, the demons should not be able to do anything. And I can rest then. I should head for the east, the place where the sunlight will hit first.'

And he starts heading for the east, but as he is running, he suddenly stops and unsheathes his katana.

'This scent.......it's a demon. It's nearby. Where is it though?'

The grasses around him are rustling. He looks around and sniffs, trying to locate the demon.

'If the demon is not on land, then, it might attack me from above.'

Just after his thought, a demon lunges at him from above. And since he is already expecting it, he is ready.

As the demon lunged at him, he swings his katana swiftly and decapitates the demon in one strike. All of these happened very quickly.

As soon as he decapitates the demon, another demon lunges at him from behind. He is fast enough to react to this and blocks the attack with his katana.

"Big mistake, Mr. Demon." As soon as he says this,

He dashes at the demon and decapitates him with one swift blow.

Without even look back, he starts heading towards the east. He runs for a while, before hearing a high pitched scream. He suddenly turns his direction towards the source of the scream. After a while, he starts getting the scent of a human and a demon. He hears the scream again. He increases his speed and after a while, he sees a yellow haired boy at the top of a tree, crying and a two demons right below him. The demons are trying to climb the tree. Tanjiro sees this and without wasting a second,

He dashes at the demon and releases multiple consecutive slashes while twisting his body and sword in a flowing fashion to deliver multiple blows simultaneously, which decapitates both the demons.

The yellow haired boy still doesn't notice that the demons are dead because he is too caught up in his fear and crying.

Tanjiro sighs seeing this. "HEY!! THE DEMONS ARE DEAD!! YOU ARE SAFE NOW!!" He shouts at the boy.

The yellow boy heard this and looked at him. After he saw that the demons are not there anymore, he instantly jumps down off the tree and starts crying while hugging Tanjiro.

"Th-th-th-thank you so much for saving my li-life." The boy cries and thanks Tanjiro.

"Well, I had to. How could I leave someone in trouble. By the way what's your name?" Tanjiro asks him.

"I'm Agatasuma Zenintsu."

"I'm Tanjiro Kamado. Nice to meet you. So, if you want, you wanna stay the rest of the test with me?"

"R-really?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"Thank you so much, Kamado-San."

"Don't call me that. Just call me Tanjiro. Now, let's go."

THE LAST DAY
--------------------------

Both Tanjiro and Zenintsu has made it till the last day which means they have passed the test.

The two head back to the place where the test started. At the beginning of the test, about 25 swordsmen showed up, but now, only 5 of them were left.

The five of them were Tanjiro, Zenintsu, Kanao, Aoi and Genya.

Tanjiro sees that Aoi and Kanao have also passed the test. He approaches them.

TANJIRO'S POV

I saw that Kanao-san and Aoi-san also passed the test. So, I approached them.

"Kanao-san, Aoi-san." I called them. They turn around and saw me. Aoi-san smiled and waved at me while Kanao just gave me a smile.

I thought to myself, "Kanao-san looks so cute." I instantly slapped myself mentally because of the thoughts.

"Hey, Tanjiro-san." Aoi exclaimed with excitement.

Before I could reply, those white and black haired girl arrived and said in unison,"Congratulations, everyone. Thank goodness, you're all fine."

After she said that, a boy with a scar on his face asked angrily, "So? What am I supposed to do now? Where's my katana?"

The blacked haired girl said, "First, your uniforms will be provided."

The white haired girl then said, "Body measurements of all you will be taken and your uniforms will be provided."

The black haired girl - "After that, your ranks will be engraved."

The white haired girl - "There are a total of ten ranks."

"Kinoe."
"Kinoto."
"Hinoe."
"Hinoto."
"Tsuchinoe."
"Tsuchinoto."
"Kanoe."
"Kanoto."
"Mizunoe."
"Mizunoto."

White haired girl - "All of you are currently in the lowest rank, Mizunoto."

The scar face boy interrupted again, "And our swords? What about them?"

The black haired girl continued, "All of you will choose your ores to make your nichirin katana. It will take 10 - 15 days for your katanas to be forged by your swordsmiths and once they are done, they will be delivered to you."

The scar face boy complains again, "Are you fucking kidding me?"

Now I was clearly irritated and I just wanted to punch him in the face.

The white haired girl ignores him and comtinues,  "But for now, *claps her hands* , a kasugai crow will be assigned for all of you."

I whispered to myself, "Kasugai crow?" as I saw a crow flying down and landing on my arm.

The black haired girl then said, "Kasugai crows are highly intelligent crows mainly used for communication."

I looked around everyone and saw that each one had gotten their own crows, except for Zenintsu. He got a cute sparrow instead of a crow. I was about to comment on it before the scar face boy angrily chased away his crow and approached the white haired girl angrily while shouting, "WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT SOME STUPID CROW!!?"

After he approached the white hair girl, he grabs her hair white his right hand and pulls her towards him and faces her face to face.
"I want a sword, you hear? A fucking sword. The color changing sword. The nichrin sword. Gimme one right now."
He threatens the girl.

I decided to take action. I approached the man and grabs his right arm. I then looked at him angrily and in a threatening yet cold voice, I said to him,
"If you don't take your hand off her, I will not hesitate to break it."

He replied very rudely, "Let's see you try it!"

"You are gonna regret this."

I then tightened my grip on his arm and a cracking sound was made. I cracked his bones.

He instantly took off his hand from her and tried to punch me with his left hand. I easily dodged it. He then dashed at me and tried to punch me again, but all I had to do was duck and sweep his legs. He fell down on the ground. He instantly gets up and runs towards me again. As he approached me, he tried to kick me in the guts but I easily grabbed his leg. I then kicked the other leg and he fell down again. Without wasting any time, I stomped his head on the ground and knocked him out.

After a while, he starts waking up. And after he woke up, he remained silent.

After that, the white haired girl after pulling a cloth off a table revealing which I believe was the ores said, "Please choose an ore, everyone. The sword that will annihilate demons and protect you will be made from these ores. So, please choose an ore."

I sniffed the ores and I chose an ore which I believed to be the most purest one. After I chose, Kanao, Aoi, Zenintsu and the boy that I just beat up chose their own ores.

I then turned to Aoi and Kanao.

"So, I guess this is where we part ways, Kanao-san, Aoi-san."

"Yeah, you are right. And thank you." Aoi-san replied.

"Why are you thanking me?"

"Because of what you did. That white haired girl is the daughter of Oyakata-sama, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. And thank you for saving her."

I laughed nervously while scratching the back of my neck.
"Well, ummm...I had to."

"Well, we shall be leaving now. And I hope we will meet again preety soon."

"Yeah, hope so. Well, take care."

And with that, we parted our ways.
