I'll Take You In

For some reason everybody was staring at me when I got outside. The females were whispering, blushing, glaring, and turning away while the males were looking at me with either disgust or lust?

"Cough," everybody's attention was once again back on King Astlin and the Fae king. "Are you trying to disgrace our kingdom?" King Astiln asked. I looked around to see who he was talking too but the looks were on me. I pointed to myself in confusion and he just glared back. "It seems like a human doesn't know the manners of the kingdom," the Fae king said loud enough for me to hear. What could they be talking about? I looked down at myself and I saw nothing unusual. "Bring an extra layer for the young lady," Queen Marclin said in her sweet-cringy voice. I admit I twitched at the fakeness of her tone. "No need. How is one supposed to fight with so much layers?" I said. So it was my clothes that were a disgrace? It was a bit damp and I only had two buttons unbuckled, how is this disgraceful? "I don't mean to be rude your majesty, but can we get this over with. I'm a busy person and don't have time to dilly-dally," I said yawning letting out a small smile when I saw him tense up. "Where is Damin?" It wasn't even a minute before the boy came appearing on the same ground as me, the only difference was that he was heavily armored and had a sword. "I see you didn't bring a sword. As expected from a woman who has never even seen a sword before," now Damin was getting full of himself, I guess he feels protected in his ridiculous armor. I snorted looking at my nails. "I can do without a sword."

At the sidelines I could hear the audience already gambling and I could hear Damin's siblings yelling to kill me to death. I'll have to teach them a lesson later after I'm done with this one. "I'll let you make the first move, so you can have a bit of dignity," I couldn't even concentrate on him because his hat was just too funny. I kept trying to hold my laughter, there were also some of the Faes looking at the stupid armor while trying not to laugh. "What's so funny?" His face fell looking at me chuckling. I couldn't help it so I let it out, "Your ridiculous armor is what's so funny. Wouldn't everyone agree with me?" I expected no agreements but surprisingly I got a lot of laughter from the Fae people while the humans were too afraid to express anything while glancing at the dark face king. "You'll regret saying that after you're stabbed!" Damin made his move in a hurry and went straight into an attack. This wasn't even going to be a 10 minute show. I sighed and stepped aside making him hit nothing but air. I was right next to him with a fist ready at his stomach. Before landing a punch I let him know who had the higher hand. "Wouldn't want to lose your other half, don't you?" His eyes got wide after I landed my hit leaving him to drop his sword and kneel on the dirt screaming and groaning while holding onto his stomach.

"I was so scared your majesty. I panicked when I saw how heavenly protected he was and his sword was just too intimidating I almost soiled myself." The King's face got darker I thought I could hear his clenched teeth and the splitting of his chair from here.

"Someone take the Prince to the infirmary!" The King shouted not removing his eyes from mine. "You've done damage to the Prince. This offense leads to a death penalty," Is he just stupid or doesn't have a brain? Even the Fae king seemed to be looking at him stupidly. Damn I guess it was true, stupidness was contagious.

"Your majesty! You can't say that in front of all these witnesses! Before the duel there was no rule whatsoever! If there was I would've asked for compensation" I said it in a mumble "I was so scared of his sword that I had to save my little life. If I were to have gotten killed there wouldn't have been anyone to stand up for me." I kept talking not letting him have a say. Everybody was looking at the King for an explanation. I wanted to see what he had to say.

"Y-You-!" Obviously he had nothing to say. "May I ask what this little one has done to offend you? I agreed to both you and the Fae king's request and now I'm being shamed for doing something that clearly wasn't explained before the match," I acted confused in front of the two Kings. I was now bringing in the Fae King just to see what he would do. Clearly everybody could see I was acting innocent but it was so much fun acting confused at a flustered king. "You're correct you have not done anything wrong. If the mortal King has anything against this child-play duel and still seek to send the young lady to a death penalty then I'll take you in." Now this was an unexpected turn, even for me.
