Thinking about Luka and what to do

In Marinette's room, Marinette finished up her chemistry homework, and she then worked on her French-English homework.

Tikki: What's this assignment?

Marinette: I have to put the phrases in a sentence and explain what they mean.

Tikki: Is it hard?

Marinette: No, it's easy. I'm passing the class with a B, so it's nothing too difficult.

Tikki: Oh. *Marinette keeps working on her last bit of homework assignment. Then, her phone buzzed, she looked at it, and it was a message from Luka. *

Marinette: (looking at her phone) Hmm. It's Luka.

Tikki: What does he want?

Marinette: I don't know. *She opened the message on her phone. *

🐍: Hey, Marinette. Listen, I heard that the Fall Festival is coming up this weekend. I was wondering if you wanna come with me.

Marinette: He's asking me to go to the Fall Festival.

Tikki: You could go with him.

Marinette: Think I should?

Tikki: If you want to, it's your choice, Marinette. Do you think it's time to give Luka a chance? *Marinette thinks about that. *

Marinette: Think I'll give him the answer tonight.

Tikki: Okay. *Soon, the front door opened and Tom and Lucky walked in, then he closed the door. *

Tom: There you go. *He unhooks the leash off of him, then Lucky starts running around and plays with his squeaky bone. *

Sabine: Dinner's all set.

Tom: Thank you, honey.

Sabine: You don't have to make the cake for dessert, I made it already. *She showed him the angel food cake she already made. *

Tom: Looks good. Marinette, dinner's ready!

Marinette: Coming. *She leaves her room, then heads downstairs to the dining room/living room, and sits at the table. Tom served the food to everyone at the table and they all started eating while Lucky ate his food. *

Sabine: So, Marinette how was school? *She drank some water and picked up a fork. *

Marinette: It's okay. *She picked up her fork that had the noodles and a tiny tomato slice. * The fall Festival is happening this weekend. If we're not too busy, I was wondering if I could go.

Tom: Sure, honey. You've been helping out with us for almost 1/2 a month, you deserve a bit of fun.

Marinette: Really?

Sabine: Yes. And besides, your father and I are catering for a girl's sweet 16 birthday party this weekend, so we'll be gone while you're at the Fall Festival.

Marinette: Okay. *She takes a bite of her veggie pasta, Tom drinks some water and eats some veggie pasta, and Sabine eats a piece of broccoli and holds a cup of water then takes a small sip. After dinner, Tom cut up the Angel Food cake and served it to Sabine and Marinette. *

Tom: Here you go.

Marinette: Dad, you baked this cake?

Tom: Nope. Your mom did.

Sabine: Go on try it.

Marinette: Okay. *She picked up a fork and took a bite of the cake, she liked it. * Mmm. Delicious.

Sabine: Glad you like it. It took some time, but I managed to get it right, even if using all of the berries we had in the fridge. I'll have to go grocery shopping and get some more.

Tom: Well, either way, it's delicious. *They finish up with their dessert, then talk some more until they're done, and Marinette gets back to her room to put in the last few details in her French-English homework. *

Tikki: Well, your parents said you can go to the Fall Festival.

Marinette: Yeah.

Tikki: Now this might be your chance to tell Luka that you're going to the Festival.

Marinette: Okay, okay I will. Call your jitters. *She gets her phone and texts Luka back saying she's going to the Festival, with him that is. * Okay, just gotta wait for him to reply. *Soon, her phone buzzed, she looked at it and it was a message from Luka. * Hmm, that was fast.

Tikki: What did he say?

Marinette: (looking at the message) He said "That's great. The Fall Festival doesn't start at noon and he's gonna take me there."

Tikki: That's good to hear. Think it'll ever work out?

Marinette: I don't know. Maybe it will, maybe it will not. Let's just hope for the best. But until then... *She gets a piece of paper and an envelope, then reaches for a pen from her pencil holder, and starts writing. * Dear, Luka... *She writes along the paper. *
