Akira Serizawa also known as Kira Young or more referred to as Kira is a former G-Team soldier and LAPD Detective. She has since become Monarchs senior anthrozoologist (due to her interest in animals) since 2014, after Mark's resignation and eventually became the Captain of Castle Bravo (appointed by her father and other members of Monarch; but also because of her connection with Godzilla) and an occasion mercenary.
She first appeared in the live action film, Godzilla, before returning in the 2019 sequel film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and again in the 2021 film, Godzilla vs. Kong as the second human lead of the Godzilla plotline and serves as one of the main human protagonists of the Monster-verse film series. She is set to return in Godzilla and Kong 2024 sequel and in the Godzilla and the Titans, the upcoming series.
She is the daughter of Monarch scientists, Ishiro Serizawa and Kang Hana and the half sister of Ren Serizawa, however was seen as the "golden child" for which Ishiro payed more attention towards than Ren, whom she deeply cared despite his resentment. She is also the widowed wife of Eric Young, the mother of Kirari Young and the eventful girlfriend of Mark Russell, resuming their relationship after the defeat of Mechnagodzilla as they took a break (due to arguments and disagreements) due to her commitment on Godzilla to further honour her fathers sacrifice and end Apex Cybernetics by working with Bernie Haynes as a mercenary (as she believed his conspiracies after which she investigated herself).
