Chapter Thirty Five

A/N: I might cut back on Dad Might's POV from here on out since Amy will be moving into the dorms...still debating...

~Toshinori's POV~

During breakfast the day before the students were to move into the dorms, Amy and I talked about her moving in with the rest of her classmates. It made me nervous but it wasn't that far away and as a teacher I'd be able to visit and check in on her whenever. I didn't like the thought of being separated from her or her being in a house full of boys and possibly girls who were all 'after' her. On top of all of that, I was worried about her being on her own after just having gone through a great trauma. She was putting on a brave face and trying to be her usual sweet self. She'd woken up early and was all smiles as she made breakfast. I could see remnants of fear and hurt in her gaze and she jumped at any sudden sounds or movements.

Reluctantly I agreed, letting her make the decision herself. She then asked me if I'd been expecting Shinso last night reminding me of the trio of boys who I feared were trying to spirit away my precious princess and something inside of me broke. I stared blankly into my coffee cup as I thought of Amy's many admirers and her ever growing fan club and how I was now incapable of keeping them all away from her. Ayumi's ever present voice was whispering across my mind only causing me to panic more with talk of people stealing our Princess away.

"how many are there?" I muttered to myself under my breath. "Maybe I could get a riot gun and pelt them all with bean bags to keep them away..."

I continued muttering to myself, staring in a daze into my coffee cup for I had no idea how long and only became aware of my surroundings when I heard voices.

"How long has he been like this?" That was Aizawa's voice. What was he doing here?

"Thirty minutes." Amy's soft sweet voice was laced with concern.

"What were you guys talking about before he went all catatonic?" Present Mic's voice sounded near where Amy's had come from.

"The dorms...and Hitoshi..." Amy admitted quietly.

"Shinso?" Aizawa remarked, before chuckling, "that's probably what did it. What about Shinso?"

"I asked Dad if he'd been expecting him last night when he came to visit, he didn't seem as surprised to see him as the other two." Amy noted still sounding worried.

"Other two?" Aizawa asked.

"Shoto and Katsuki." Amy replied.

I felt my heart lurch as she called them by their first names. Oh god, she was on a first name basis with way too many boys!

"Oh boy." Present Mic snickered. "Poor All Might."

"Is he going to be okay?!" Amy panicked.

"He'll be fine, let's let Aizawa handle it. Come on, I got you a present I want to show you." Present Mic steered her away from the dining room and into the living room.

"You seriously should talk to a professional." Aizawa sighed as he dropped into the chair next to me and pulled the coffee cup out of my hands.

I snapped out of my daze and was finally able to move again. "You might be right. I'm way out of my element here. What do I do when she wants to start dating?"

Aizawa shrugged, "pretty sure I heard you mention something about a riot gun, that seems appropriate enough, it's non-lethal. Or you could give them all detentions."

It was tempting.

I remembered Present Mic mentioning a present for Amy and looked in the direction of the living room curiously, "what did he get her?"

Aizawa shrugged again, "something ridiculous, I'm sure."

We got up and made our way to the living room as Amy hesitantly opened a blindingly bright gift bag Present Mic had handed her. Amy reached into the bag and pulled out a plush caterpillar. It seemed normal enough, at first. It was mostly black and had green eyes and a pair of plush shades that resembled Present Mics. I realized it was a plush caterpillar likeness of himself and heard Aizawa sigh beside me.

"Give it a squeeze." Present Mic beamed.

Amy hugged the plush and there was a soft click and it started to emit a soft glow. It was a light up caterpillar that he'd somehow had made to resemble him. Amy giggled softly, "it lights up. Thanks, Present Mic."

"For him that's a bit normal so I guess we should count ourselves luck-." Aizawa began but paused as he realized he spoke too soon when he spotted the look of glee on Present Mic's face, there was more.

"Wait for it." Present Mic looked at the clock on the wall. Once the minute hand flipped the caterpillar in Amy's arms exploded with sound. Present Mic's loud voice bellowed from the plush. "Good Morning Princess Might!"

Amy dropped the plush with a squeal terrified by the sudden startling sound and froze up in panic.

Oblivious to her moment of terror, Present Mic beamed, "it can also work as an alarm clock."

"You idiot!" Aizawa snapped, "what the hell is wrong with you?!" He growled as he smacked Present Mic over the back of the head as I rushed to Amy's side.

"Princess?" I wrapped my arms around her. She was shaking like a leaf.

"S-sorry." Amy trembled.

"Don't apologize, it's this moron's fault." Aizawa grumbled and looked like he was about to hit Present Mic again. "Feel free to throw it at him."

Amy shook her head and shakily picked up the plush. "I l-like it. It's a very thoughtful gift...thanks, Present Mic."

Present Mic beamed, "anytime Princess Might."

Aizawa rubbed his temples in annoyance and I let out a sigh. Amy still looked a little shaken from the jarring alarm. It was thoughtful. They knew Amy was having trouble with being in the dark lately and he'd thought to get her a plush that would help make her feel safe...the alarm was a bit much but I had to give him credit for trying.

"Why the hell couldn't you just get her a normal glo-worm or something?" Aizawa grumbled.

"Then it wouldn't make her feel like Uncle Mic is watching over her." Present Mic retorted.

Uncle Mic?

Aizawa shot him a scowl and smacked him over the back of the head again.

"Uncle Mic?" Amy asked curiously.

"It's even cuter when she says it!" Present Mic gushed. "It just makes me want to squeeze her." Did I now have to worry about my coworkers? That riot gun was starting to sound like a great idea.

"She's still recovering you creep." Aizawa placed a hand on his shoulder and threw him a menacing look. "We're leaving before you dig your grave any deeper." He paused as they were about to leave. "We're stopping by the dorm's later, are there a mountain of plushies we should take with us?"

"I can take care of it." I offered him a smile, "thanks, Aizawa."

He looked to my bandaged arms but said nothing and they took their leave. Amy looked to me as she turned off the glowing Present Mic caterpillar and gently set it aside. I could see worry in her bright baby blues.

"Are you okay?" She asked me quietly.

"Yeah, sorry Princess, I was just-..." I didn't know what to say.

"-worrying about boys?" She surmised.

"A little." I admitted.

"I'm sorry...I'll stop talking to them...I can even push them away, even if it's a little mean, I don't want you to worry. I've made you worry way too much." She blurted in a panic.

I chuckled at the thought of her using her quirk to send any boy that approached her flying, "no, Princess, it's okay. Last night, you relaxed for the first time, since-...and I know they were a big part of it. If they make you feel safer then I want you to spend time with them. Don't worry about me. It's just a Dad thing. I'll always worry about my little girl, and no boy...or girl.. will ever be good enough for her." I gently pat her on the head.

She relaxed a little and wrapped her thin bandaged arms around me. "I love you, Dad."

My heart swelled and I hugged her back being careful not to squeeze too tightly, "I love you too, Princess."
