Chapter Forty Six

~Amy's POV~

I woke up before the sun had risen and set to work proofreading and rewriting the apology letter I'd drafted up before bed. Though at 10 pages front and back I was wondering if it was perhaps now an apology book instead of a letter. I picked some wildflowers from outside and arranged them in a small vase on a tray piled high with cat shaped pancakes.

I carried the tray to the faculty dorm building. Before I reached the door, it flew open and I spotted Present Mic wearing a pair of pajamas littered with cute animated puppies playing guitars.

"Princess Might!" He greeted me with a smile.

"Good Morning, Uncle Mic." I replied shyly.

"So cute." He reached out as if he were going to hug me but suddenly dropped to the ground sound asleep as Midnight used her quirk on him and shot him a scowl.

"Good morning, Precious." Midnight smiled at me sweetly as if she hadn't just knocked out Present Mic.

"G-good morning Midnight-sensei." I bowed my head politely before throwing a worried look at Present Mic, "is Uncle Mic going to be okay?"

"I should kick him." Midnight grumbled bitterly under her breath before offering me a smile, "he's fine. Come in."

I followed Midnight into the Faculty Dorm and spotted Mr. Aizawa in the kitchen sipping a cup of coffee. He looked surprised to see me and even more surprised by the covered tray in my hands.

"What's this?" He frowned.

"M-my punishment?" I squeaked and set the tray on the counter next to him.

Midnight looked between us curiously before lifting the lid of the tray. "What on earth kind of housewife kin-." I didn't hear the rest of what she said as Mr. Aizawa suddenly covered my ears and began shouting at her angrily.

Midnight started laughing hysterically and I stared up at them both, thoroughly confused as Mr. Aizawa stopped covering my ears. "Did I do something wrong?"

"Not at all precious one." Midnight giggled before gently patting me on the head and taking her leave.

I looked to Mr. Aizawa as he threw a scowl at Midnight before picking up the ten page letter I'd written. He sighed, "I said an apology letter not a novel."

"...I felt really bad..." I mumbled morosely still feeling extremely guilty for breaking curfew, destroying ground Beta and most of all disturbing Mr. Aizawa's peace.

Mr. Aizawa sighed and set the letter aside before rubbing his temples, "you're not in trouble, no one is angry with you, not entirely sure it is possible for anyone to be angry with you, so please stop beating yourself up." He gave me a hug as if he already knew how upset I was.

"I'm so-." I began to apologize but Mr. Aizawa threw a sharp look down at me.

"No more apologizing." He scolded me lightly.

I nodded.

"Good. Now go do something fun with your day." He waved me off.

I exited the faculty dorm and started walking back toward my dorm. About halfway, I heard a few panicked animal-like squeaks and hurriedly looked around. My heart fell as I spotted a chipmunk entangled in what looked like ribbon from a balloon that had gotten lost and was now deflated.

"Oh no! Hold on, I'll help you." I squeaked and lifted it and the ribbon up with my quirk and brought them to me. The ribbon was wrapped tightly around its neck. I focused on the ribbon carefully with my quirk and it began to unravel itself until it was in tiny harmless shreds on the sidewalk at my feet that scattered in the breeze.

The chipmunk breathed easier and I offered it a smile. "There, is that better?"

It blinked at me.

I gently set it back down on the ground.

The chipmunk suddenly scampered toward me and climbed up my body until it was perched atop my shoulder. It nuzzled against my cheek affectionately before zooming away.

I giggled and waved after it, "thank you."

"Tamaki was right, you are really nice." A voice sounded from beneath me.

I glanced downward and saw a face in the sidewalk. A scream of terror escaped me and I bolted away in a panic. I didn't make it too far before I suddenly realized how rude it was for me to react that way to whoever was inhabiting the sidewalk and I stopped running. I spun around and dropped into a bow, "I'm so sorry!" I squealed.

Laughter erupted from below me and the face reappeared causing me to scream once more, but I managed to not run away this time.

At the sound of my scream, the chipmunk I'd saved returned with some friends. The face in the sidewalk glanced at the chipmunks then back at me, "cute girl with protective woodland creature friends, you must be The Princess." The face beamed.

"U-um...I guess so?" I stammered.

The face moved and I realized it belonged to a boy two years my senior as he rose up out of the sidewalk. My face flushed scarlet as his bare torso popped up out of the sidewalk and I let out a panicked squeal.

"AH! WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING CLOTHES?!" I hurriedly covered my eyes causing the boy to laugh mirthfully.

He stayed halfway suspended in the sidewalk so only his upper body was revealed, not that that made me much more comfortable. I took a few hurried steps back and kept my eyes covered. He was still laughing at my reaction. I thought back to something he'd said earlier and slowly parted my fingers so I could throw him a curious look. I got a better look at him, he was really muscular and had perfectly swept blonde hair and beady blue eyes.

"You know Amajiki-senpai?" I asked.

He smiled; it was a warm smile filled with unadulterated joy. "I do." He extended a hand to me though didn't come any closer or try to pull himself the rest of the way out of the sidewalk, which I really appreciated.

I inched a little bit closer to him and nervously slipped my hand in his only to let out a soft gasp of surprise as he pressed his lips to the back of my hand and awkwardly bowed to me. "Mirio Togata, at your service." He grinned.

My face burned at this, "A-Amelia Takada, but you can call me Amy." I squeaked back and stumbled away from him once he released my hand. Mirio? Amajiki-senpai had mentioned a Mirio, he said he was nice and bright. Looking at him, he did seem very nice, a bit unusual, though that was purely from the bold way he was sitting shirtless before me as if he often hopped out of the sidewalk to talk to strangers. When he smiled I understood why Amajiki called him bright. There was something almost sparkling about his smile and it put me at ease.

"I thought it a little odd when Tamaki asked me to go to the mall with him. He doesn't typically like to go out, I thought it was even more peculiar when he insisted we go into a toy store to look for a plushie for a cute underclassman." Togata smiled.

I blushed and his smile grew.

"I heard some first years were out past curfew last night, two of them were fighting and now Ground Beta is completely destroyed. Would you happen to know anything about it?" He pondered.

Perhaps the third years were supposed to train at Ground Beta and I'd completely ruined their plans. "I'm so sorry!" I squealed and dropped into an apologetic bow.

"Huh?" Togata sounded surprised.

"It was an accident! I didn't mean to destroy everything, I was just trying to stop Katsuki and Izuku from fighting!" Tears began to well in my eyes.

"Ah! I wasn't angry, I just wanted to know what happened!" Togata panicked as he saw the tears beginning to well in my eyes. "Aw man, I don't have my cape." He groaned as he'd automatically reached behind him as if to grab a cape.

"What?" I asked as I tried to calm myself down.

"A hero's cape is for bundling up young girls who are in pain or crying." He pointed matter of factly.

I couldn't help but smile at this. "That's so nice."

"So...you destroyed Ground Beta?" He asked after a moment, looking surprised.

I nodded. "...I didn't mean to...I was worried Katsuki and Izuku were going to get hurt...I just wanted them to stop..." I thought about how scared and panicked I'd felt and suddenly my hair fluttered and Togata let out a panicked yelp as he went flying down the sidewalk. "EEP! I'm so sorry!" I panicked and raced after him, "are you okay Togata-Senpai?"

He looked at me in awe for a moment before smiling, "I'm fine. You can call me Mirio. I look forward to seeing you again and getting to meet the rest of your class later this week."

"Huh?" I jumped as he fell back into the sidewalk. "Mirio-senpai?"

He was gone.

When I returned back to the dorm building, I was immediately ambushed by an angry Bakugo, concerned Todoroki and worried Midoriya. I let out a panicked squeal as the three of them surrounded me the moment I opened the door.

"Where the hell did you go?!" Bakugo snarled.

"To bring Mr. Aizawa pancakes and my apology letter." I yelped.

"Don't yell at her." Todoroki threw Bakugo a dark look.

"Don't tell me what to do Icy Hot!" Bakugo roared.

"Are you okay, Amy?" Midoriya asked me worriedly.

The three of them suddenly looked behind me. I tensed and turned around half expecting to see a horrifying Nomu. Instead I spotted the chipmunk I'd rescued. I offered it a smile and knelt on the ground extending my hand to it. The chipmunk scurried toward me and hopped into my outstretched hand.

"Did you have something you wanted to tell me?" I asked it curiously, wondering if it could understand me.

"Aw! You guys! Amy really is a Disney Princess!" Ashido cried from inside the dorm, alerting our other classmates. Bakugo, Todoroki and Midoriya got shoved out of the way as everyone else came to see what was going on.

I spotted Koda and waved at him, "Koji-kun, I think my new friend has something to tell me but I'm not sure, would you mind talking to them?" I held up my hand with the chipmunk perched in it.

Koda nodded and everyone let him through and stared intensely. Koda looked at our staring classmates nervously before covering his mouth with his hands as he leaned toward the chipmunk to speak to it quietly.

After a few minutes Koda looked at me with a bright smile. "He wants to protect you because you saved his life."

"That's the cutest thing ever!" The girls gushed.

I looked down at the chipmunk in my hand with a smile, "you don't have to do that, I was happy to save you."

The chipmunk stood upright in my hand and seemed to mimic the awkward bow Togata had done when he'd kissed my hand earlier. Koda chuckled quietly and I had a feeling the chipmunk had just declared itself my knight.

"It will be easier to go to sleep at night if you're with me." I beamed at the chipmunk in my hand.

"Too cute, can't take it." Kaminari dramatically clutched at his chest and fell into Sero.

"I could keep you company at ni-." Mineta began but his words fell away and his eyes grew big as saucers as Bakugo and Todoroki shot him very threatening looks.

I looked back at Koda, "should I give him a name?"

Koda nodded.

"How about Ritsu?" I looked down at the chipmunk curiously.

It let out a squeak and nuzzled my hand affectionately.

"He likes it." Koda said softly.

I giggled and set Ritsu on my shoulder.
