; CHAPTER 5 ; - Regret.

It's been two days.

He's laid up in the hospital yet again, hooked up to machines to monitor his breathing and his health. His stomach had to be pumped and he was internally bleeding from the pills acting so fast.

It's been two days since he woke up. He was in a medically induced coma, and Jotaro never left his side; he refused to. The last time he did that, he almost lost him. Never again. The raven haired gripped his hand, tears already starting to flood those sharp, stern eyes that were soft with sadness and worry.

"You fucking idiot... What would have happened if I didn't bring you food..? Y...You—" He feels sick just thinking it. Imagine it; nearly loosing your best friend not one, but two times? That has to be a complete damper on a mood—no, a LIFE, if anything. "Just.. please, I beg you–please talk to me.." He pulls his hand up and sighs, resting his forehead on his frail fingers that were cold with the temperature of the room.

"We're loosing her! Get me the defibrillator!" The constant pangs of anxiety that came one after the other were enough to floor the redhead as he watched the doctors place the electrically charged objects against his mothers chest, limp body jolting forward with each discharge—before suddenly,

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

She had flatlined during a checkup.

She isn't going to last long at this rate.

"Ghk—" Jotaro was actually... crying. It was rare he let his emotions get over him, head burrowing into the bed side as he sobbed. "You... you fucking.. idiot..! Why didn't you say anything—" Did he miss the messages? Kakyoin never seemed to show any signs of distress.. at least outside of his nightmares. His parents hadn't come home yet due to delayed flights, but they were trying so hard. He knew they were. Jotaro relentlessly sobbed into the bed, Star Platinum actually summoning on his own and looking over his user with a concerned look. "Ora.."

Jotaro feels a hand and he flinches, looking over. Star pulls back quickly and stares at him before reaching over again and doing his best to wipe at his tear stained face. Despite the head jerks, he reluctantly gives into the stands hold and just lets the tears flow. He needs to stop being so pent up emotionally. It isn't good. "Oh..oh Star what the hell am I going to do.." He sniffles and leans back. Another day is slowly coming to a close.

"Mom! Mom, look—it's a "Helichrysum arenarium", or better known as an Immortelle—They're used in treatment for things like Gall bladder disorders, and as a diuretic for treating rheumatism and cystitis. It's also in herbal tea made in Syria for medicinal purposes." Kakyoin was like a little kid when it came to plants. He always was, ever since he was a small child.

His mother smiles weakly and pets the seventeen year olds head, chuckling. "They're a very nice shade of yellow. They'd make good decoration around a house."

It's Thursday now. Doctors were in the room, Jotaro sat off to the side to give them room.

It was quiet, all except the beeps he hears from the heartrate monitor. And it's just a moment until he realizes something... something is off. The beeps. They're slowing. Slower, and slower. "Doc, I thin—"

He's cut off by the steady flatlined beep that suddenly fills the room. Oceanic hues widen in sudden overwhelming fear and he shoots up, Star instinctively coming out. This was too surreal. He can't. A defibrillator should help, but he's so fucking scared that he acts upon impulse. As the doctors pile in suddenly, it takes more force than he wants to give at the moment. "Move out of the fucking way!"

Doctors are trying to pull him off; but he's persistent. Large purple hand phases through his chest and pumps his heart slowly as tears pour from his eyes. "Please.. please, fucking god COME ON!" He's desperate. Beeps become constant, and he sighs heavily and lets out a sob. "Please..."

And with that, he's yanked off. Though the doctors are relieved.. They don't know what happened or how it did, but regardless.

"Nmh.." Violets pluck open slowly. It's been a week.. Jotaro is passed out holding onto his hand loosely, sniffling lightly in his sleep. Redhead blinks, a light blush coming over his cheeks. "..."

Memories of what happened suddenly flood his mind; and thats when tears started. He.. he actually tried to kill himself. He feels like he's gonna be sick. The stirring of the ravenette is enough to grab his attention, the ocean hues that belonged to the brute teen red and puffy. He had been... crying.

Probably over him.

"Jotaro.. I.." The words make the raven haired snap up and stare straight at him before suddenly pulling him into a shaky breathed hug, big arms that basically engulfed his entire form trembling with fear. Anxiety racked his brain, but no more. "Kakyoin you fucking idiot! Why wouldn't you just—fuck.. just.. please, talk to me. I don't know what I'd do without you.."

That's the first time Jotaro Kujo, a man known for scaring kids with just a single glare, was actually crying in front of Kakyoin. The first time he was actually vulnerable.

He cared.

This causes tears to well up in his eyes as well, and he leans into the raven haired. It's quiet, but he slowly starts to sob into the wrinkled coat collar with a shaky inhale, thin hands curling and bunching the soft cloth in his fists. "I'm.. I-I'm so sorry, I just... I reg-gret e-everything.. I didn't.. I thought—" "I don't care what you thought! Do you know how much you worried us all?! You're such a fucking imbecile!" Jotaro scolds him more; grip growing tighter. Kakyoin shrinks beneath him. Weakly, he mumbles: "...I'm sorry.."

"Easy, Kakyoin..." There's a voice behind him suddenly. Kakyoin can't help the sweat that rolls down his forehead and down to the sharp of his jaw, dripping onto the forest green uniform that adorned his figure. "There is nothing you should be afraid of.."

The anxiety is sickening. He wants to run, to get away from this vile place; yet he's stuck.

It's quiet.

"Let's be friends, shall we~?"

Broken sobs come from the teen as he grips weakly. Over, and over, he mumbles a rough "I'm sorry" into the ear of the raven haired who's consoling him as best as he can. Light rocking, the raven haired is hesitant; but he swallows, moving closer to actually lay down beside him and hold onto his form. Kakyoin finds... comfort in this. He curls into him as he hears Jotaro's surprisingly soft singing voice start up.

It's comforting. All of this, its enough to make him calm down. His shaky breaths calm into deep, long ones. "...." He rests his head on his chest, starting to doze off within moments.

Jotaro is embarrassed but relieved that Kakyoin finally calmed down; hell, he calmed down himself. He's not used to physical contact, but.. he'd be willing to get used to it. He shifts, hand resting at his side as he shifted his hat to cover his face before relaxing. Another nap wouldn't hurt..

Kakyoin jolts awake in the middle of the night; he was curled up against Jotaro, who had a protective hold on him. It was strange, but the hard thumping in his chest and the speeding up of the heart monitor was enough to let him know how he felt already. It was embarrassing... but he really felt.. strangely, towards Jotaro. Had since he met him, honestly.. it progressed more and more over time, but they just.. clicked. Feeling the males heartbeat against his face was oddly calming, and what fear he woke up with melted away.

Thank god for Jotaro.. he kept him level; sane.

"...." Despite the hour, his mother had decided to come as well. She woke up not much before him, but decided to stay quiet. "..I'm sorry, Jotaro.." He speaks quietly, burying his face into his clothes. His scent is relaxing; a musky scent, mixed with the light scent of what seemed to be woodland and something that he couldn't quite pin down.. he'd love to engulf himself in it if he could. "I love you.. so much.. I'm sorry...I was so tired... tired of everything..." He sniffles and gripped his shirt again, hiding his face.

"Thank you.. for being there.." He's barely audible, but he relaxes again. His mother smiled in the darkness of the room, shifting a little. She was overly worried over her little cherry, but.. Jotaro was there. She didn't have to worry too much as long as he was around. That, she knew.

He'd take care of her precious little cherry.
