The next day was Zed's interview for Mountain College, and he was incredibly nervous. He was waiting by the beach, surrounded by Ariel, Willa, Wyatt, and Wynter.

"You're making history today, Zed. First zombie to ever interview for college." Wynter spoke, grinning.

"Hey, you show 'em what monsters can do." Wyatt added, pointing to Zed.

The zombie nodded. "Right. I am going to slay her with my killer zombie charm."

"Absolutely." Ariel nodded, reassuring the boy.

Willa, however, was not as convinced, grimacing. "Yeah."

Zed shrugged. "Or not. Probably not. I don't know. We will see."

Bree raced over with Bonzo, the latter speaking Zombie to Zed, who's eyes widened and faced dropped in nervousness.

"What?" He spoke initially, "She's early."

"I'm kind of freaking out, and not in the best way. More like a 'heart beating out my chest 'cause I'm stressed' way." Zed began, looking at the group.

"You're the best football player that I've ever seen!" Wynter pointed out, comforting Zed.

"You'll be fine!" Bree agreed, "You're a charismatic green machine."

"What if you're wrong and I bomb this interview?" Zed doubted, still nervous.

Bonzo then spoke in Zombie, Zed nodding at the words. "True, but what if that's not enough?"

"You've united all creatures!" Ariel smiled, grabbing Zed's hands in her own to calm him.

"You have a heart of a wolf." Wyatt nodded.

"You're a leader!" Exclaimed Willa as the group began to dance.

"I hate to say, but I'm nervous. How do I prove I deserve this? I'm trying to be a perfect zombie. And everybody's counting on me." Zed sang.

"I'm Exceptional Zed, to all my family and friends. So I just gotta forget the doubts and get up out of my head. 'Cause I'm Exceptional Zed! I'm out here doing my best. Today I gotta be good to go, so I'll say it over again: I'm Exceptional Zed!"

His voice then faltered. "I guess."

Ariel and the others dragged Zed into town, where many people were waiting. Zed continued to sing. "Time to live up to the hype."

"The world's yours, you can change it!" Principal Lee was beside Zed, smiling.

"Thanks to you, I moved out." Coach grinned, his Mom beside him.

She pointed to her son. "Now I live in his basement!"

"I've had so many failures." Zed pointed out as he stepped up to a podium where the Wells parents stood, a camera ready to take photographs of the Zombie.

"You've had more successes." Ariel's father said, shaking Zed's hand.

"I'm Mayor Wells, and I approve this message!" Missy held out a board of sorts, smiling as pictures were taken of the trio.

"Am I really that great?" Zed questioned.

The Acey's then appeared, waving their pompoms. "In case you forgot, you changed the whole school!"

"Whether I like it or not." Bucky complained, now standing beside Zed.

"You're smart, you work hard, you can make it all happen!" Coach sang, him and Prinicpal Lee now being the ones next to Zed.

"You speak zombie!" Prinicpal Lee pointed out. "And that's a dead language, like Latin."

"Yeah. You're right." Zed realised.

"I know." Smiled Prinicpal Lee.

The group then travelled to Zombietown, dancing as they made their way to Zed's house.

"I hate to say, but I'm nervous. How do I prove I deserve this? I'm trying to be a perfect zombie, and everybody's counting on me!"

Everyone in town began to sing. "I'm Exceptional Zed! Uh-huh! To all my family and friends. That's right! So I just gotta forget the doubts and get up out of my head. Oh, yeah! 'Cause I'm Exceptional Zed! Uh-huh! I'm out here doing my best. That's right! Today I gotta be good to go, so I'll say it over again. Oh, yeah! I'm Exceptional Zed!"

Zed's little sister Zoey was standing next to the recruiter, singing about her brother.

"Zed is brave and kind. He lights up our town. He's the kind of guy that you wanna have around."

Ariel led Zed over to where Addison was waiting with a flower. "I believe in you, you're exceptional. And I know you can do this."

Zed nodded. "I can do this."

"You can do this."

"I can do this."

"You can do this!" Sang everyone in town, grinning at Zed.

As they danced in front of the recruiter, Ariel and Addison sang something different to everyone else.

As the town sang the same chorus as previous, Ariel sang:

"You're Exceptional Zed! Uh-huh! To all your family and friends. That's right! So you've just gotta forget the doubts, and get up out of your head. Oh, yeah!"

Addison then began to sing along. "'Cause you're Exceptional Zed! Uh-huh! Zed, I believe in you! You’re here doing your best. Today you gotta be good to go.  Zed, I believe in you! So we'll say it over again: you're Exceptional Zed!"

Everyone began to cheer, Zed, Addison, and Ariel making their way to the recruiter with grins on their faces.

"What did you do to deserve all of this?" She questioned, curious.

Zed shrugged, only saying, "I have no idea."

Zed then looked down to the robotic screen where Eliza's face resided. "Thank you."

"Progress for you is progress for us all." Eliza stated.

The recruiter's eyes landed on Addison. "Why don't you join us to start? I understand you've already been accepted." Addison nodded.

The recruiter then turned to Ariel. "And you're her sister, right? Who's recently became a werewolf, or something? You should come too, I think a few questions about wolves could be included."

The trio followed Zed's father and the recruiter into his home, standing as she was sat opening her binder.

"We found your application persuasive." The recruiter began.

"Well, I'm just doing my zom-best." Zed chuckled. "Zombie best."

"Uh, our biggest concern is that you could turn into a monster at any time."

Zed nodded. "Yes. I am a monster, but completely safe. Zombies eating brains?Thing of the past."

"Zed can control his 'zombie-ing' out." Addison nodded, patting Zed's shoulder. This seemed to set off a cackle of electricity, Zed's appearance turning Zombie for a second.

The boy shook it off, laughing. "Look at that! We have electricity."

Addison chuckled. "I must have rubbed my foot on the carpet."

Zed's father winked at them for covering it up.

"What about werewolves? How do they control it?" The recruiter then asked Ariel.

Ariel smiled. "Well, us wolves can fully control when and where we change into our wolf side. This is because of our moonstone necklaces." Ariel then showed the woman her necklace, and then let her claws and fangs grow and eyes glow. It was only for a second, smiling at the recruiter. "See?"

She nodded. "Back to Zed. Despite being a zombie, how would you positively impact Mountain College?"

Addison raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Despite?"

Zed brushed off the term. "Uh, that is a fair question. Um, you know, I think what I bring to the table is the..." He then began to zombie our again, concerning the others.

The recruiter was concerned. "You okay there?"

Zed nodded, acting chipper. "Yeah! No. I'm great. Just give me a second to... I just need to use the restroom real quick."

He rushed into the room Ariel knew was the kitchen. Zed's father chuckled, "That's the kitchen."

Addison then grabbed Ariel, excusing the pair as they raced after Zed. He had cooled down, but the sisters still watched him, confused.

"What happened?" Addison asked, head tilted.

Zed shrugged. "I don't know. I just lost control."

Addison then touched Zed, the electronic wave going from her to him, which was what caused him to zombie out. Ariel's eyes widened in realisation. "Addi, it's coming from you!"

Zed grunted, trying to calm the zombie urge. "Not now! I gotta focus!"

It happened again, Addison frowning. "I'm so sorry!"

Zed came to a realisation, eyes brightening. "Wait, it's your powers! Your alien powers!"

Addison gasped. "I have their spark! It must have taken longer to affect me!"

"Addison Rosalind Wells! You are an alien!" Zed exclaimed.

"I am!" Addison exclaimed in excitement, going in to hug him and causing him to zombie out again. Addison then hugged Ariel, but caused her eyes to glow from a surge of power.

"Is everything all right in there?" The recruiter called out from the other room.

"Yes! We're fine!" The Wells twins choursed.

"I can't wait to tell the aliens at the Cheer Off tomorrow. My mom's gonna freak out. She has no idea. She's gonna..." Addison talked on, excited.

Addison then raised her hands towards Zed, who jumped back. "Please stop!"

"I'm sorry! I'm trying. I really am." Addison admitted, then sending a wave of energy towards Zed without physical contact. He grunted, flying through to the main room.

Ariel rushed forwards as Addison raced to get rubber gloves, the wolf girl helping a zombied out Zed to stand. He was grunting, trying to control himself as the recruiter gasps.

She screamed. "Zombie!" She ran from the house as the others called after her.

"No, no. No, no, no! Wait, wait, wait!" Zed gained control once more, Addison emerging from the kitchen with the rubber gloves on her hands.

"I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed.

"Don't be." Zed said to her, then rushing out the house.

"Wait! Please." He called, the recruiter stopping as people gasped and murmured in confusion. Zed turned to the twins, who now stood at the steps of his home. Addison nodded, clasping her hands together. Ariel did a small wave.

"I know that I may be different. Who that's exceptional isn't. We have a spark that can change things. It's not a curse, it's amazing." Zed referred to the people stood around the area with a smile.

"I'm Exceptional Zed, and so are all my family and friends. We're artists, athletes and activists who always give it our best. We don't need to pretend, 'cause we won't ever fit in. And we're not just awesome in spite of that we take pride in that instead."

"We're all exceptional"

The recruiter smiled. "We'll take that into consideration."
