''Oh, he's cute! You should go talk to him!" My best friend, Lauren and me are going for a walk through the park and saw a handsome boy standing in a group with seven other guys. He had reddish, light brown hair and was surrounded with people who all looked years older than him.
"No way! Look at all those people around him. I would only embarrass myself!" I argued. Lauren has always been the more outgoing of the two of us and was constantly trying to get me to talk to guys or do stupid things, but I hardly ever did.
"Come on! You may never see him again anyway, don't you want to know what will happen?" Lauren argued back.
"Say I did go over there. What would I even say? Hey I was totally stalking you and decided to come over here to make a fool of myself! Anyways see you later. I would sound so stupid." I explain to my best friend.
"Fine I will start the conversation for you. Then will you talk." She starts to run off to the group.
"Wait no!" I scream but it's too late and I am stuck running after her. I am fast so I catch up rather quickly but not fast enough. She is already there.
All the boys are starring at me and her and I can literally feel my face turning as red as a tomato.
"Hi! My name is Lauren and this beautiful girl right here is Y/N." She then turns to face the boy we were looking at earlier. "She thinks you were cute and was wondering if you wanted to go for a milkshake or a movie sometime."
The boy stands there looking embarrassed and confused. One of the other members of the small gang step forward. He has dark hair and eyes, his face is very intimidating and he seems like the kind of guy to go to the cooler all the time.
"So you think Ponyboy is pretty fly there don't you."
"Uhhh, no, yes, I mean..." I stutter to put my words together.
"Yes, yes she does and she would appreciate if you didn't speak for your friend over there." Lauren says.
The boy looks taken aback as if no one every stands up to him. But he quickly recovers.
"You seem like a sparky broad. What do you say we go on a date?"
"If you ever call me a broad again I will snap your neck." Lauren spits back.
"My apologies, why don't we discuss this at the drive in. I know how we can get in for free." He offers.
"I would like that. Let's go." Lauren says before they both run off leaving me alone with the boys.
Everyone stands there looking at me awkwardly as of waiting for me to burst out crying.
"I...I am just gonna go now. Have a good night." I say before turning to walk away from one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.
"Wait! How about that milkshake?" The boy from the start says after chasing me.
"Oh, yeah, sure. Let's go." I answer.
We walk down the street and I discover that those boys he was with were part of his gang and throughout the whole walk I couldn't stop looking into his eyes. They were a gorgeous greyish green eyes that just captured me.
"Is everything okay?" I guess I was staring at him by accident. I immediately start to blush in embarrassment.
"Yeah sorry. Here's the Dairy Queen, let's go in." I awkwardly try and avoid the subject.
Once we got inside we both ordered chocolate milkshakes and took a seat at a booth. We spent the afternoon talking about our lives. Anything from the struggles of being a greaser to new movies that have come out. I actually had a lot of fun but figured nothing else would happen, I have never had the beat luck with guys. At the end we both started getting up from the table.
"So would I be able to have your number by any chance?" Ponyboy surprised me but I recovered and quickly wrote my number down on a napkin.
"I will be sure to call!" He says before leaving.

The next day I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I groan before getting out of bed to answer the call.
"Hello, who is this?" I ask, my voice extremely deep from just getting out of bed.
"Hi, is this Y/N?" The voice asks.
"Yes, who's this?"
"Oh right, it's Ponyboy, you know from the other day."
"Yeah, of course. I'm glad you called."
"I really had fun the other day and I was wondering if maybe we could do it again sometime?"
"I would love that!" I respond and we talk for about a half hour before hanging up.
Ten minutes later I hear a knock on my door and run over to open it. I see Lauren staring back at me.
She practically pushes me over coming through the door.
"My night yesterday was so amazing Dallas was so awesome! Did anything happen with you and Horseman or whatever?" She spits out all at once.
"Yeah, last night me and Ponyboy had a great time and he called me this morning and we are going out again." I explain.
The rest of the evening me and Lauren talk about the most recent gossip and laughing over dumb things we have done. I can't wait to see Ponyboy again.
