9. Face to Face: Part 1

The next week was just like that Friday. Cyrus desperately waiting for English class and being disappointed once he found out TJ was absent. It went by slowly and all he could do was wait. He had to come to school one of these days. Winter break would be coming soon and he wanted to talk to him before that came around. Thoughts had begun to take over his mind, wondering about Kippen's whereabouts.
'What if he hated me. What if I'm a bad kisser. Crap I hope my breath smelled good. What if he hates me. No he doesn't. Or does he. Dammit.'
The next Friday rolled around. He asked around his friend group if anyone had spoken to TJ.
"No, not since the last four times you asked yesterday. What is up with you? You've been so worried about him. Did something happen?" Buffy eyed him, beginning to worry about Cyrus constantly asking people if they had heard from him.
"No—it's just...I need to talk to him."
"Well I haven't heard anything. I'll let you know if I do."
"Thanks Buffy. I'll see you in Biology." They nodded and went their separate ways, giving Cyrus a chance to meet up with Reed.
"Hey Cy. What's up." He smiled at him, earning him one right back.
"Hey Reed. Nothing, you?" they hugged and pulled apart after awhile. His hands stayed on Cyrus' waist as they looked into each others eyes, which were sparkling beautifully.
"Yea nothing but, listen, I won't be able to go out with you to the spoon today. I have practice and we have to start training with someone new since apparently Kippen doesn't want to show up at all. Have you seen or talked to him?" A shiver went up his spine as he heard the name come from his mouth and panicked, thinking about the kiss.
"Nope, Haven't heard nothing at all. Haven't seen him or done anything since his absence."
Way to go Cyrus
"Yea well if you do, tell him to not come to practice, to talk to the coach."
"Will do boyfriend. Isn't that funny. I can call you that now. Boyfriend." Reed shook his head, chuckling at his awkwardness. He gave him a peck on the lips which turned into a full make-out session. Reed pushed him against the lockers, getting rough, Cyrus running his hands through his blonde hair, not being able to control anything but how hard their lips were smashing into each other.
"Reed, wait stop. We're in school. We can't be caught doing this." They pulled apart, faces all red smiling at each other with Reeds fluffy hair all over the place.
"Yea I guess you're right. We gotta go. I'll see you in English class, boyfriend." They smiled at each other and separated, running to their classes. Who knew making out could make you twenty minutes late to class.
Algebra, Biology, Spanish, History, Free Period every class passed by quickly including lunch and finally came English.
Reed had taken the spot next to Cyrus. He wrapped his arm around him once he noticed Kira staring at Cyrus, viciously, a smirk then overtaking her face. She got up and made her way towards them. His arm around him tightened as she came closer, making sure that no one would hurt the one he truly cared about. Cyrus was small compared to most people.
"Hey homos. Has anyone seen or talked to my boyfriend? I miss him dearly. Yea I'm asking specifically Cyrus, look at me when I'm talking to you." Hands slammed on the desk, causing Kira flinch and take a step back.
"Leave Kira. Leave Cyrus alone. Go back. Your 'boyfriend's' probably not here because he remembered that he'd have to be near you, and god forbid someone has to experience that."
"You know what Reed, screw you and your little homo boyfriend here." She lowered herself, whispering in Cyrus' ear. "Watch your back f*g. I know what you did last week. I'll hurt those closest to you." Cyrus shivered, as he finally looked up and came face to face with an evil smile. She walked away, her boots making loud noises as she made her way back.
"She can't do shit, babe. I'll protect you, don't worry. I'll make sure she doesn't even think about going near you. Since I'll be at practice, I'll have a friend walk you home today."
"That's fine Reed. I have somewhere important to go to later and my mom's picking me up." He tried to convince him with a smile. Reed hesitated but ultimately agreed. As long as he had someone by his side.
     *Ring*
After sharing a kiss, Cyrus made his way outside making his way down the sidewalk. He had lied to him. First lie of their relationship. He just needed to make sure TJ was ok. After dozens of text messages and phone calls all week, Cyrus figured that the only way to make sure he was ok was to visit the Kippen Residence in search of TJ. He just had to be there. Unless he moved away, forever. Had the kiss been that bad? He stopped taking a minute to think about all of it. Was he really about to go just to talk about one kiss that probably meant nothing? They hadn't done it multiple times, just once. What was there to talk about. He didn't care and decided to keep going. He put his headphones in, which would distract him from the noise and everything happening around him, until he finally got to his destination. He began planning and going over what he would say, making up many scenarios in his head that would probably never happen.
     He shook his head.
'Get over it Cyrus. Just go up to him and just blurt it out. Get it over with, tell him how you felt and leave, it's that easy.'
He ignored this and decided to just say whatever as it came his way. Good plan.
