5. Hurt People

Heads up there will be Homophobic slurs in this chapter/part, so um yea.

School had ended and Cyrus was heading toward the gym with Reed by his side. He was still thinking about what had happened prior to this. Reed had made out with him. That had come out of nowhere. Hr had never showed interest in Reed but he enjoyed what they did and his mind was scrambling, beginning to develop feelings for the blonde boy. Clearly Reed had already felt some type of way towards him. Their hands intertwined as they arrived and entered the gym. Basketball tryouts were to begin in 5 minutes and he had been asked to be there for support. He agreed which made Reed a happy child. The room was full of people all dressed up, passing basketballs around warming up, ready to try out.
"We're gonna talk about us-this, about this after school, right?" Cyrus nervously spoke. He didn't want to jump to conclusions and think that they would be dating since all he had done was kiss him. Well, they had made-out but friends do that all the time, right?
"What about us, Cy?" He kissed his cheek which caused a dozen butterflies to erupt within Cyrus' stomach.
"I don't know, I just wanna talk."
"We'll talk after this alright?" He nodded taking a seat on the bleachers right next to Andi as they both watched everyone run laps around the gym. Cyrus followed them, but could only focus on one pair of eyes that were staring deep and searching his soul. TJ. He was running and was followed by Buffy, but he couldn't take his eyes off of Cyrus.
"What was all that between you and Reed?" Andi asked him, a confused look on her face.
He turned to look at her a smile creeping onto his face as she asked him about his maybe boyfriend.
"Hm? Oh nothing. Its just- he is such a dream isn't he?"
"He might be, but I never thought of him as anything other than straight. Was he a good kisser? Wait of course you know, you made out right there in front of every frickin' one." She smirked at him bringing a pink tint to his face. He didn't notice that there were people all around them, watching when he had gotten kissed. He was happy Reed was comfortable enough to do something like that with no worry or shame of anyone saying something.
He looked away from his friend to look at the boy that was taking over his mind. Instead he looked at TJ who was coming his way limping. He waved at him, smile and all but no response. He did notice a small smile show itself but fade away just as quickly as it came. He climbed up the bleachers and sat three rows behind Andi and Cyrus. He turned around to face TJ who was just staring at him with no emotion present in his eyes. Just pale skin and messed up blonde hair. Not even the grin he had come in contact with that first time he had bumped into him.
"I waved at you but you didn't say anything." Again no response. He rolled his eyes but continued talking. "Whatever I did, TJ, I'm sorry. Are we still friends? You know you're my bestfriend and if I did say anything or do anything wrong, again, I'm sorry."
"Actually yea you did do something. You stood there in the hallway, acting all f*ggy with your boyfriend. Don't you know that's not right. Try not to act like a frickin fag in school." He stopped himself. He had felt the words come out harshly. He had never spoken like that and didn't know what had come over him. All he could do was stare back at the eyes filling with tears that were staring back at him. They stood there, with everyone in the gym staring at them like they were a display. Cyrus wiped his eyes, lip quivering as he attempted to reach for his things, but failing and instead storming out of there.

"Cyrus wait-"

That's all he heard before he was out of there. He walked over to the vending machine struggling to put his money in. Suddenly, he heard a loud slam followed by a sinister laugh. He turned in fear as he came face to face with the she-devil herself.
"He sure told you huh Cy-Cy."
"What do you want, Kira." He held back the remaining tears that were threatening to spill out. He always tried to find the good in people, but she was the one exception. He just couldn't with her, no matter how hard he tried. She had been mean ever since they had met in the eighth grade and he never knew why. It surely couldn't have been something he did because he had never done anything. He looked in her eyes but all he could see and feel radiating out of her was anger and greed.
"You know what I want. I want you to stay away from my boyfriend, you fucking f*g. Stay away. He doesn't want to be your friend. You're worthless, you're nothing." She shoved him causing him to fall back and land against the vending machine. She just smirked at him. She didn't even feel bad about what she had done. "Do you understand f*ggy? Do you?"
At this point, Cyrus couldn't help it. He started crying all messy. The only thing louder than this was the yelling that started as soon as the heard the gym doors slam open once again.
"Kira, get away from him. Now!" She didn't even flinch. All she did was stare back at TJ. The spark of evil once again igniting in her eye.
"I knew it Teej. You are one of them. Wait until I tell everyone. I know you wouldn't want that, so how about you just step back and wait for me so we can go make out."
"I'm over it, Kira. We dated the past three weeks and those three weeks were all it took to see that you're not a good person. Go ahead, tell the world about me. I don't care. We are over!" TJ was yelling at this point. She began to tremble, but straightened her body once again.
"Alright TJ." She stood up close to him, practically breathing down his neck. "Remember this. This is not over. I hate you TJ Kippen. I HATE YOU." She stomped away, every step feeling angrier than the previous. Her words were so powerful. So much emotion had been put behind them. She really hated the two boys. TJ turned to Cyrus who had witnessed the whole thing with blurry sight. He held his hand out, which Cyrus pushed away.
"I tried to help you Cyrus. Please don't push me away now." He pleaded, but this didn't phase Cyrus. He didn't care, especially after everything TJ had said to him.
"I don't care. Stay away from me. We're not friends anymore. Make that two people who hate you now." He has struggled to get this out. Just a few minutes ago, the guy right in front of him had been his friend. Now he wasn't and he didn't know how to feel. He twisted his body and made his way out of the building, taking his hurt and emotions with him.
