"I saw you
And I saw your aliveness
And my inner being exclaimed
Soul of my soul!"

Ever since the Volturi left, the burning that always seemed present in her heart now seemed to grow bigger and bigger, she spent most of her vampire life fencing all her emotions and her memories, and strangling them, only for them to come back the moment she saw him.

She missed them, the old them, their conversations, their little quirks, his concern for her, but that's the problem, that was the 'old them', now everything had changed, they were pale and lifeless, that's what they have turned to.

Strangers. That's all they were by then.

Since that encounter in the field, she told the Cullens about her human life, they were all surprised, and after the Romanians left, her family did all they could to change her mood, since all she would do was either sulk in her room or mock the wolves by penetrating their territory.

Carlisle would invite her to his study where they would spend hours and hours, reading books, or studying about the supernatural, and their meetings would always end in a long debate about Renesmee's kind.

Esme always asked her for help in the kitchen, since not only did she have to feed Renesmee, but the vampire insisted on cooking for Jacob and his new pack, saying that's the least she could do after they helped her.

Alice and Rosalie, dragged her off to a mall whenever they got a chance to, where they would shop for what the old vampire felt like days, so she would always wander off to a book shop.

Emmet and Jasper were driving her nuts, they always picked fights with her, that mostly ended with her throwing them out of the house. Or they would teach her about technology, which they regretted because she was getting better than them in video games.

As for Edward and his family, she liked spending time with them the most, since they were the calmest to be around, and would always invite her to their house so she could have some peace.

She was sitting on the couch, beating Emmet in another video game, "You cheated!" He bellowed as he threw a pillow at her.

She laughed, "You're the one that got distracted."

"Not fair." He grumbled under his breath, as he got up and went to his room, probably to blow some steam off.

She grabbed her book that was sitting on the table, but couldn't bring herself to focus, her mind had already drifted off, and she was thinking of Jane, it hurts her to remember how close they were back then. The blonde girl was the only one she could tell her soul to. Never throughout her human life had she turned her back on her. Jane went through so much pain but still had time for her silly friend, she would listen to her even when she was dying inside.

A smile slipped on her face as she thought about the past.

Around the 800's A.D.:

"I swear Lionne if I don't see you standing right in front of me in five seconds, you can find yourself a new best friend." Stated Jane as she looked at Mel who was perched up on a tree just like always.

"Ha! You've been saying that for seven years now."

"Doesn't mean it won't happen this time!" Jane waited but did not get any response "Fine then. One!...Two!" She started turning towards the village slowly, "Three!" She continued in a challenging tone, "Four!" She was now facing the village completely, "Five!" She announced and started heading to the village.

Jane didn't get far, she was stopped when Mel landed on her feet in front of her with a pout.

"Look who decided to join me." The blonde mused.

"I though you missed me already so I joined you." Melione grinned.

"Yeah I'm sure that's it."  She answered with a mocking nod.

The two were now laying on their back in the sea of flowers surrounding their usual spot, the pond, staring at the night sky, in a comfortable silence, both seemingly lost in their thoughts.

"Lionne?" Melione hummed in response, beckoning her to continue. "When you become an adult, will your father send you away from here?"

Melione chuckled, "Where will he take me?"

"I don't know, to marry you off?"

"You know my father, he isn't into all that 'women should get married' tradition, I believe that's why he sent me to school, to prove his point, plus even if he thought of it, the idea is probably long gone because he knows I'll murder the poor guy." She paused, "And how do you expect me to live without the ones I love?"

===

Well she learned how to live without those people in the hard way.

Mel looked to her right, seeing Edward staring at her with a curious look, "It's so hard to figure you out Mel."

"Facts."  She said with a smirk.

Renesmee came running into the room, a ringing a phone in her hand, "Auntie M! Someone is calling you!"

Melione gave her niece a smile and took the phone glancing down at it, 'Stefan' she frowned and rushed into the woods, to answer her old friend.

"Alec, Master wants to talk to us before we head off." Rang out Jane's voice in the room. The boy looked up slightly from his spot on the bed and muttered "Coming sister."

He sighed, grabbing his bag of clothing and headed to the throne room, his master's words still in his head. What did Marcus mean when he told him he lost his mate? Who did the old vampire mean by mate?

He looked at the huge oak doors and opened them, walking in, his sister and friends already standing in front of the thrones.

"Ah, it seems that Alec has arrived. Well I wish you all good luck. And I hope no fights will happen between you and the Romanians," he said his eyes pausing slightly on Demetri and Felix letting them know he was talking to them, "Inform them about what's happening and help them if a fight occurs, keep your eyes out for anything unusual happening. Have a safe trip children."

As Alec stepped outside the castle with his coven, he took an unneeded breath looking up at the stars, a smile tugging at his lips, the feeling of being outside around this time always brought him satisfaction.

Soon enough he was in the Volturi's private jet, reading a book, taking some time for himself, before arriving to his destination.
