Clay was rolled away from me. He had to go into surgery cause of the blood. He was coughing up blood. Apparently the doctor said it was cause of the pain in his side. There as a bleeding in the tissue? Is that what he said? I can't remember, I was to busy worrying about him. I felt Drista grab my hand. 

"Will he be okay?" She asked. 

"I hope." Drista was tall like her brother. She was almost as tall as me. I was about 3 inches taller than her. Soon enough she will be taller than me. She kept telling me she is done growing cause she hasn't grown for about a year. But I said she will grow more. She squeezed my hand. "Let's sit down." We sat back down on the couch where I was sleeping before. 

"Happy belated birthday," Drista said. 

"Thanks!" Now all we do is wait. Wait for Clay to come back from the surgery room. So that's what we did.

It was about 3 hours when he got done. He was really drowsy. Drista already left with her mom. But they said they would be back soon when the surgery was over. Clay winced in pain when they hit a bump on the way into the room. He let out a groan. 

"Clay," I said, tearing up again. He was breathing heavily. His eyes were full of pain. The doctors were all around him, getting him his oxygen thing ready. Clay waved me over to him. 

"George," he said weakly, "I love. You so. Much." He breathed heavily. "But I don't. Think I will. Make it."

"Don't say that. You will," I said. 

"No. I know. The end. Is near." 

"Please don't go. Please. Your family wants to see you. Please don't," I pleaded. I was crying now. Was the surgery that hard on him?  

"George, I love you so much but," Clay stopped to take a deep breath. 

"I love you too Clay. Please don't go," I begged. There was one doctor near us that asked him if he was okay. Clay just nodded. 

"George." 

"Yes." I cried. 

"Will you," he paused, "marry me?"
