It was finally that time of year again. The day of hearts, chocolates, flowers and sharing love with your special someone. Many people loved this holiday, but Drew Hayden was not one of them.

While everything looked pretty with all the glittery hearts and flowers, Drew still didn't care for it. Not only did it make all his fangirls even more hyped up, and that he didn't think this kind of romance and love should be dedicated to one day, but he wouldn't get to spend it with the one girl he actually wanted.

"Drew! There you are!"

"Drew, will you please be my Valentine!"

"Hey Drew!"

"I love you, Drew!"

"And there are the fangirls." Drew sighed.

He knew he should have waited until tomorrow to leave the safety of his room.

Just as he turned to make his escape, they surrounded him like a pack of wild dogs cornering their prey. Each one chanting his name and shoving different gifts in his face.

Thankfully, someone came to his rescue, it just wasn't the girl he wanted.

"Hey! Lay off him! He's mine!" Marissa shouted.

All Drew's fangirls glared at up the snobby, blonde beauty that interrupted their Drew time. She was Drew's most determined fangirls, and while she was beautiful, Drew wanted nothing to do with her.

"No way! He is mine!" Another fangirl screamed.

"You can't have him!"

"Oh yeah! And what's going to stop me?" Marissa challenged, taking out a Pokéball.

"We are!"

The other girls took out a Pokéball too and a crazy battle broke out.

Drew just watched in shock. This was such an insane turn of events in such a short time that it claimed Drew's focus. So much so, that he didn't notice someone sneak up behind him.

May silently crept up behind him and pulled him away from the crazy swarm of fangirls. Drew almost blew their cover, but May put her hand over his mouth. Once Drew saw it was her, he calmed down and the two slipped away to a little clearing in the nearby forest.

"Thanks for the save." Drew let out a breath of relief.

"No problem. I couldn't let the famous Drew Hayden be hounded like that on a day like today." May remarked. "You should spend it with someone special."

Drew couldn't help what came next. It was just too perfect.

"And that special someone is you?" Drew teased.

May's cheeks instantly grew pink and her eyes widened.

"W-what? No! I...I just wanted to help you!" May yelped.

"Whatever you need to tell yourself." Drew flipped his hair. "Honestly, I'm just glad you were jealous enough to drag me away all of them. I'm flattered."

May's face was almost beet red in a combination of embarrassment and anger.

"I was not jealous!" May barked. "I just wanted to help you! And now that you're helped, I'll be on my way!"

"May! Wait!" Drew called after her.

May didn't stop. She just stormed off, huffing and puffing as she went deeper into the forest. Once she was sure she was far enough away, she released one of her Pokémon so she would have someone to rant to. Out came her Beautifly.

"Can you believe him? Calling me jealous when I only wanted to help him." May crossed her arms. Beautifly titled her head in response. "Ok! Maybe I was kind of...just a little tiny bit jealous." Beautifly remained silent, but May went on. "Fine. You're right! I was super jealous! I just love him so much! Oh, I'm such a mess. Do you think I should go back and apologize?"

Beautifly landed on her trainers head, letting out a soft coo.

"Yeah, you're right. Let's go back." May said.

She turned and ran back to the spot she had left Drew. Only problem, he wasn't there. Which wasn't a big surprise. After all, who would wait around for someone who yelled at them and ran off?

"Well, looks like I have to find him again." May muttered.

She skipped off to search the town for him. She thought about what she would say to Drew once she found him. Definitely apologize, but what else? Would now be the time to tell him how she feels? Maybe this Valentine's Day was it.

"What do you think Beautifly? Should I tell Drew how I feel?" May asked her Pokémon that still rested on her head.

"Beauti!" Beautifly nodded rapidly.

"Wow. Someone really wants me to tell him, or is it just so you can hang out with Masquerain?" May giggled.

"Beautifly!" The butterfly Pokémon exclaimed.

May continued to laugh at her Pokémon's reaction.

However, her mood quickly changed when she found Drew. He wasn't alone. Marissa was there and she was all over him. Of course he wasn't enjoying it, but all May could think about was getting the blonde off him. Whatever she had planned to say was replaced with the thought that came with a burning jealousy.

"Hey!" May shouted angrily.

Marissa and Drew turned towards her in surprise. Neither expected May to appear, but Drew was grateful while Marissa was irritated at being interrupted.

"Oh, it's just you. What do you want?" Marissa asked, annoyed. "Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?"

"What do I want? For you to get your grubby hands off him!" May growled.

Marissa smirked triumphantly at May and stood up tall and proud.

"And why should I?" Marissa hissed. "He's a great guy, who is single, and I am a beautiful, smart, crazy rich, beautiful girl who could have any guy she wants, unlike you. So, what don't you just run along? After all, it's not like you could offer him anything."

At this point, May was boiling. She didn't care what came out of her mouth at this point, she was going to put this snob in her place.

"Marissa! That was-" Drew was about defend May, but she stepped right up to her newest nemesis, and let her have it.

"I might not be rich, but at least I'm not a heartless snob who only cares about herself! I have way more to offer Drew than you, or any of his fangirls ever will, because I love him! And it's not because he is attractive, unlike you shallow brats! I love him because he is amazing, strong, talented, and yes he is arrogant but I still love that about him! I care about him and actually got to know him before I fell for him! So don't you dare tell me I don't have anything to offer, or try to make me feel bad about myself to make yourself feel better! Now, either leave us alone, or deal with me on whole new level." May snarled venomously.

May's long speech left Marissa and Drew completely speechless. This was definitely way more than either expected to come from the usually chipper coordinator.

Even though Marissa was affected by what May said, she played it off as if it was nothing.

"Yeah, whatever. I have better things to do with my time anyway." Marissa rolled her eyes before she walked away.

May glared at her as she left, slowly calming herself in the process. A deep sigh escaped her mouth once Marissa was gone. She turned on her heels, ready to leave, but she forgot Drew was there.

Their eyes met and May instantly blushed a bright red as she replayed everything she just said. She just admitted that she loved him, and he heard it.

"Hey, Drew." May have a small wave.

Drew didn't reply, and just continued to stare at her. He brain had trouble believing what he just heard, because all this was to good to be true. The girl he had loved for so long came to his rescue, not once, but twice, on Valentine's Day, and just confessed she felt the same. There was no way this had actually happened to him.

"Well, now that you are free...I'm just...I'm going to go. See ya." May muttered nervously.

She turned, ready to run off to any direction she could, but Drew grabbed her arm. May froze, unsure of what to do.

"Wait." Drew begged. "Did...did you really mean what you said? Is that how you feel about me?"

May slowly turned to face him, ready to deny everything. Unfortunately, the pleading, hopeful glimmer in his green eyes, made her spill the truth.

"I...yes. It's true. Everything I said to Marissa is true." May looked away from him. "I do love you, and I was a little jealous earlier, but it was mostly to save you. I'm sorry for overreacting earlier too. I just...I don't know." May let out a breath and met his gaze again. "And...I know you don't feel the same but-"

"Woah, what?" Drew interrupted. "Who said I didn't feel the same way? I'm in love with you, May. I have been for the longest time. How could I not be? You are the first person to challenge me, to make me want to work harder. I was thrilled when you were the one to save me. And don't worry too much about the 'overreacting'. I think you're adorable when you get mad."

May's mouth hung open as she listened to him. This whole day had been unbelievable.

"So...you really, really feel that way about me?" May asked, just to be sure.

"I'm sure this will answer your question." Drew grinned.

He then lifted her chin with his finger and leaned in to kiss her. Their lips met and eyes closed as they entered a world of bliss. Drew's arms wrapped securely around her, while May let her hands rest against his chest. They were only aware of each other in that moment.

Even as they pulled apart and gazed lovingly at each other, the world around them was a blur.

"You're right." May cooed. "That really did answer my question, but I have another. Will you be my Valentine?" Drew smirked and kissed her again. "Was that a yes?"

"Of course it is." Drew remarked. "After today, we are much more than a Valentine. Although, I do expect to be the automatic Valentine. Don't forget that."

"How could I? This is one Valentine's Day I will never forget." May gigged.

"Same here." Drew took her hand. "Now, let me treat my sweet valentine to a special day."

With that, he lead her away with him to go enjoy the rest of Valentine's Day. A day that would go down for both of them as more than a mere holiday, but a day they will always remember.

THE END!!!
