"Mommy you were in a cell and you were being tortured. You were screaming for Daddy. It was so loud and scary," Alice jumps into my mate's arms crying and shaking in fear.

I saw fear in Everett's eyes. Everett doesn't know about the entire conversation that the Moon Goddess and I had. But she knows that there is a connection between that conversation and Alice's dream. And she fears it.

"Alice don't worry everything is going to be alright," Everett soothes Alice, rubbing her back.

"But Mama, it was so scary and it seemed so real," she cries not soothed at all.

Justin tries to comfort her and it works but only a little. She still cries and whimpers but not as hysterically. She really is scared and I know it is because she doesn't want to lose another mother and she doesn't want to lose her family.

I walk over and kneel beside Everett and Alice. I know I have to reassure Alice the best I could.

"Alice look at me," I say sternly. Alice turns her head and looks at me. Tears glisten in her bright eyes and cascade down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see my daughter like this. "I promise I will protect Mana to the best of my ability. I'll try to not allow anything to happen to Mama. I promise Alice that if Mama is hurt or taken in anyway, I will get her back to you. To our family."

I know I can't allow myself to lie and promise her that nothing will happen to Everett because I know even though I might be trying my hardest the Red Sun Pack may be able to take Everett. But I k ow I can promise to Alice that I will get her Mama back of she is taken.

"Do you really promise, Daddy?" Alice wipes her eyes with her fists. Everett brushes her hair back and kisses her forehead.

"Yes I promise from the bottom of my heart," I say and give her a kiss on the forehead before giving Justin a kiss too.

I say Alice's eyes close and her breathing slow. She fell asleep. I know all this has tired her out. Everett stands up with Alice in her arms and heads towards the stairs. Justin follows, running to catch up.

I pick up the dishes and bring them over to the sink. That seemed to be over flowing with dishes. I better clean this up. I begin to rinse the dishes and place them into the dishwasher.

My concern for Alice clouds my brain and I can stop but think did the moon goddess do this to warn Everett and I about what is about to come?

Tiny hands rub my now tense shoulders. Tingles spread through my arms and towards my heart. Everett. My shoulder sag and my muscles relax. She kisses the back of my neck lovingly.

"Honey, you need to relax," she says and walks around so she is in front of me.

"Everett what if Alice's dream is a message and that we need to prepare. What if-" Everett interrupts me by placing her hands on my cheeks and squishing them.

"Bryson, listen to me. I know you are worried but you don't need to because I know that you will protect me no matter what. I know if something were to happen to me you would come for me and save me. I am scared but I am not scared enough to think that you won't protect me. I know you will protect and save me no matter what. So you have nothing to worry about because I'm not worried so you shouldn't be worried," she says and finishes her speech with a kiss to the lips.

I grip her waist and pull her close. I bury my face into her neck and whisper the one thing that has been clawing inside my chest since I awoke from my coma.

"I'm scared."

"I know. I am too. But there is no reason for us to be scared because I know nothing will ever break us and they will never again keep us apart," she whispers into my ear and pulls me closer. "Never again."

Everett cries silently into my shoulder and I feel the urge to also but I stay strong for her. She needs this. I know she truly is scared because she doesn't want to be alone again. She doesn't want to be away from her family and I sure as hell don't want her to leave my side ever again.

"Shh baby shh," I sooth her and kiss on her mate mark. "I won't let them take you away from me." I know I shouldn't say this but I have to reassure her that we will be together for the rest of our lives.

We just stand there in the middle of the kitchen. I rub a hand on her stomach and smile down at her. She smiles back and wipes her tears away with the back of her hands. I want to spend some time with my mate before I have a meeting with Jackson.

"Where's Justin?" I ask, noticing that he never came into the kitchen with Everett.

"He decided to take a nap also since he was up early with Alice," she replies rinsing the rest of the dishes.

"Everett I have a meeting with Jackson in a little while and I wanted to know if you would like to join me," I say to her and start the job that I suddenly stopped.

"I would love too. Since I'm Luna, or soon to be Luna, I need to start getting into the motion of things," she says and I can hear the smile in her voice. "What is this meeting about?"

"Well I'm going to ask him about what he knows about the Red Sun Pack's plan. Him being the Beta he should know some or all of their plans," I say and finish loading the dishwasher and turn to look at my mate.

"Alright," she says and I see her begin to make coffee for myself, Jackson, and Logan and hot chocolate for herself. She always could drink hot chocolate anytime of the year.

I see her put about five big scoops of hot chocolate powder in her cup and chuckle. "Why do you put so much powder into your hot chocolate?"

"Because I like it really chocolaty," she giggles.

She grabs one of the trays that sit in the cupboard and set three cups of steaming coffee and her cup of steaming hot chocolate. She places the small bowl of sugar that sat on the counter on the tray and grabbed the small carton of milk in the fridge, setting it on the tray as well.

We head up stairs and I mind link Logan to bring Jackson to my office. We arrive and I pull Everett into my lap, after she sets the tray of drinks on the desk.

"I'm going to need you close because I'm guessing that some of the things Jackson is going to say is going to anger me and Legend," I say and watch as she sips her hot chocolate.

"Okay and I already knew that was probably why you asked me to attend this meeting," she says smugly.

"Well aren't you just a smarty pants," I say and tap her nose. Everett giggles and takes more sips of her what I am guessing is delicious hot chocolate.

A knock on the door sounds and Logan and Jackson step through.

"Good morning Logan, Beta Jackson," Everett says to them from behind her cup.

"Good morning," they both reply with a small bow of the head and sit down.

They both sit down and take a cup of coffee, putting in their preferred amount of sugar and milk into it. After a few moments of silence I clear my throat and begin the meeting.

"Jackson, I called you here because I need to know if you know anything about the Red Sun Pack's plan to kidnap Everett." Everett shivers at the word kidnap and I pull her closer.

"I know almost the entire plan. Even though I was the Beta, Alpha John never fully trusted me and never told me all his plans fully. But I am completely willing to tell you everything I know," he says and sets his coffee down. "I know that the Red Sun Pack is making alliances with Rogues and Hunters in order to beat you. If the Red Sun Pack does succeed in kidnapping Everett she will be brought to the Rogue's hide away that is approximately in two hundred kilometers North West of here. I do not know the exact location though. They plan to hide her and torture her until she gives into them and follows their every order."

I growl at this and I can feel Legend try to claw out and gain control. Everett places a hand on my cheek and calms me instantly but Legend stay close to the surface ready to gain control and kill whoever is trying to harm our mate.

"I know they planned to do this around the beginning of winter so they could make it to their hide out before the first snow fall. But know I have a feeling that they will do it sooner if they find out that Everett is pregnant. They will try to use the baby against her and break her will faster," he says and I see that he is struggling to keep control.

He cares for Everett as if she were his daughter and he doesn't want anything to happen to her. Logan is struggling too. He doesn't want to go through what he did all those years ago. I didn't want him too and I wasn't going to allow it.

"Is there anything else that you know?" I ask, placing a hand over Everett's small baby bump. She places her hand over mine and squeezes.

"The Hunters and the Rogues have found a way to block the mate bonds and get rid of a mate mark."
