The Court Doors

The court room lies in utter confusion. The jury are yelling at one another, the judge won't stop screaming "Order!" although he knows no one is going to stop or break up the dispute. Suddenly the lawyer of the supposed criminal, a man charged of murdering his wife, stands up.
He yells, "I'm not guilty!"
The entire court room is silent, and wait for his explanation.
"My wife, isn't dead, she is simply missing. Listen to me. In thirty seconds, she will walk through these very doors!" the lawyer claims.
The entire jury turns and stare at the court room doors, waiting for the young lady to walk through, very much alive. The defendant watched the jury, and waits thirty seconds.
After the time frame had passed, no one had walked through those doors.
"You see? If you weren't so sure he had killed his wife, you wouldn't have watched the doors!"
The court room goes back into utter chaos. But after a while, they come to the conclusion, that the man is guilty.
