Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Neil Harris opened his front door, for the first time in 3 years. He had been on a business trip which had extended itself by two years. He was so happy, but he was most excited to see his wife, whom he had only seen through the camera of his laptop through a Skype call. He dropped his luggage at the foot of the steps, and snuck up the stairs, hoping to surprise her.

He searched all over the house, and through the process of elimination, he concluded she must be in the bedroom. And, sure enough, he heard scuffling inside. Camera at the ready, he opened the door, and yelled, "Surprise!". He then snapped a picture of her surprised face, capturing this moment forever. His wife, Amy Harris, jumped out of bed and flung her arms around him, smiling, with tears of joy trickling down her face.

To end this celebration, Amy suggested they went and had dinner together, which they did and where they had a lovely time, a night that would be forever remembered as their last night together.

When they had finished eating, they both took a taxi home, and they both collapsed on their separate beds.

Neil woke up earlier than Amy and glanced at the photo he had taken of her last night. He inspected the image really closely, until he found a rather shocking detail. He then got up, took a knife from downstairs, and stabbed Amy to death.

He later concluded in court that he had a motive for killing her.
