Peace. Finally, release. 

I was comfortably sitting in my armchair, I mean I deserved some peace, especially after what had just happened. My book was very interesting, it was about a serial killer who had escaped death and the police many times. I knew someone like that. 

I heard sirens outside, and the blue and red light flashed. I heard voices downstairs, and heard how they rushed up the steps, and how they slammed open my apartment door. They ran inside, I stood and uttered words of protest. 

"We're too late." said one of the police officers.

What happened? I know, this one is slightly weird, but better ones are on the way!
