| vii. FIRST AID KIT

Victoria lied to Sky. She wasn't going to look for Bloom. She was going to kill the Burned One. The girl knew it was a deadly mission, but she didn't care about anything as long as her father was going to survive.

She listened carefully to her surroundings as she was moving through the woods, with her eyes glowing crimson red. Even though it was a chilly night, Victoria still shivered from the emotions that were filling her. The girl was determined to find that creature and kill it.

Just as she was about to cross the barrier, she felt someone's presence behind her. She clenched her jaw, a red orb appeared in her hand and as she turned around she saw a familiar specialist.

"Sky? What are you doing here?" Victoria asked, the orb in her hand disappearing. She scanned his figure and noticed he was wearing the same armour as her. "And why are you wearing armour?"

"I could ask you the same thing, Vic," He sighed and gripped the knives that were strapped to his torso. "I just can't sit around and do nothing when Silva's dying," The boy responded, answering her questions.

Victoria nodded in agreement and motioned towards the dark forest with her head. Sky didn't need to think twice, before he passed through the barrier, running through the woods. The girl followed him, still listening to her surroundings. She could see him pulling out his sword, in case something would attack them. He slowed down his pace to catch up with the girl, who was speed-walking as their gaze was focused as they roamed through the dark forest.

Suddenly a loud growl echoed through the forest, making the ground shake as Victoria and Sky stopped in their tracks. Their backs were pressed against each other's as they were looking around for the Burned One. Sky was holding his sword in front of him, while Victoria outstretched her hands, glowing red.

"Guys!" Their heard from the side, making them guard up even more. It was Bloom, who had tears running down her face. "It's close," She whispered as soon as she ran up to them.

It was only a matter of seconds when a creature jumped down from a tree, growling at the teenagers. The boy began to attack the creature with his sword, while Victoria helped Bloom scoot away from the harm. As soon as Victoria helped the ginger, she ran up to the Burned One, creating a big ball of crimson energy and lifting the creature up in the air.

She grunted as she felt the magic taking over her, but it didn't stop her. It made her feel stronger and more determined to kill the Burned One. Out of sudden Victoria made a quick hand movement, sending the creature on a sharp branch, piercing his body in result.

Her vision went blurry for a few seconds, before she took off running towards Sky, who was laying on the ground, clutching his stomach. "You okay?" She breathed out, scanning the boy's figure.

"Yeah," Sky responded, nodding in agreement. "I didn't know you were a fairy," He furrowed his eyebrows, slowly getting up from the ground.

She chuckled. "Surprised?"

Before the blonde boy opened his mouth to reply, a woman stepped in the picture with a scolding look on her face, but Victoria could see the proudness she tried so hard to hide.

"We need to go back to school, now," Miss Dowling spoke up, glaring at the teenagers.

"You two are idiots," Silva exclaimed, storming over to them as he pulled down his shirt. He pointed his finger aggressively at the teenagers, who were standing beside each other, looking at the man expectantly.

"I know-"

"Stupid, impulsive, reckless idiots!" He spluttered, angrily, glaring at them.

"I know!" Victoria cut him off, shaking her head, looking up and down at her father. "But is it better?"

"Professor Harvey?" Sky questioned as he breathed heavily, his chest moving up and down quickly. The man smiled as he stared at the teenagers, confirming their assumptions.

"Don't smile at them," Silva spoke up, glancing at his friend. Relief appeared on Sky's face as he wrapped his arms around the man's back, bringing him into a hug. "Your dad would've been proud," He told Sky as they pulled away.

Victoria tightly wrapped both arms around the man's neck, making him to wrap his own arms around her, smiling proudly. "I'm glad you're okay, Dad," She whispered.

"I'm proud of you two, but you're still idiots," Silva exclaimed as Victoria took a step back, giving him some space. "It's time for you to go to bed and don't think you'll get special treatment tomorrow,"

The two of them laughed, waving at the man, before leaving the greenhouse. She stopped and leaned against a wall, closing her eyes tiredly. She never used that much magic and never thought she would, but the girl would do anything to save the ones she loved. Even if it would cost her life or health.

"How are you feeling?" Sky suddenly asked, making an eye contact with her.

"I feel like I can get some sleep finally," She laughed quietly, smiling sincerely at the boy. Victoria scanned her face, looking at the blood on his forehead. "Oh, shit," She cursed, grabbing the boy's face and touching his temple.

Sky winced as she touched the wound slightly. "Is it bad?"

"It's not deep, but it'll be bad if you won't disinfect it," She responded, raising her brow at him, grinning at him. "Can you do it by yourself?"

The boy quickly shook his head, making the girl giggle and motion towards the suite she lived in, pointing her finger upstairs. Sky, without thinking twice, followed the girl to her chambers. As soon as they arrived, Sky walked through the door, heading to the couch, looking around the suite carefully while Victoria was running around the bathroom, looking for first aid kit.

"Got it!" She smiled, waving the medical kit in the air. She crouched down next to the blonde boy, opening the medkit and pulling out a bottle and a few gauze rolls. Victoria soaked the gauze in a rubbing alcohol, before bringing it closer to Sky's face. "Just don't scream, all right?"

Sky nodded in agreement and everytime she would patt the cotton pad with rubbing alcohol into his cuts, the boy would wince and flinch. He remained strong as he promised the girl a few minutes earlier. After a few minutes of cleaning the wound on his forehead, she threw the bloodied gauze in the trashcan, before applying a band-aid in the place she had previously cleaned.

The boy sighed, getting up from the couch. "Thank you for everything, Vic," He thanked her, smiling slightly.

"You're welcome, pretty boy," She replied to him, using the same nickname that made him flustered as earlier.

"Pretty boy?" He spluttered in shock, his eyes wide open as he looked at her.

With a smirk the girl took a step forward, facing the blonde boy, trying to wipe the smile off of her face. She tilted her head, slightly pushing Sky to start walking. "Yeah, pretty boy," She exclaimed. "Go and wash up, you smell like shit,"

"Oh, look who's talking," The boy snickered, before stepping out of the suite with a slight smile on his face.

But the two of them didn't know someone was watching them in the darkness with anger flowing through their veins.
