~ Chapter 1 - Impressions ~

(Sorry the present/past tense keeps changing/meshing in hereee)

I don't know what I'm going to do anymore. N's dumb ass just decided to tie me up. I've been sitting here for at least a couple of days with nothing to do. It's quite depressing, actually. I swear, I'm gonna tear him to shreds as soon as I get out of here. I perk up, there's a sound of footsteps shuffling from somewhere. I automatically try and stand up, but almost fall flat on the floor in the process. "V...?" A girl's voice seems to ask. I look up, confused, until I realize who it is. Uzi. The purple one. She doesn't seem to be as aggressive with me as she is with N. Maybe she's scared of me... I'm enthralled at the thought, but quickly wipe the smile off my screen. "Yup, that's my name," I pause as I search for something to accommodate what I'd let out - why am I so nervous, she's just a dumb worker drone.. "Not too hard to remember." I smile sarcastically. I interrupt her before she can say anything. "And you're Uzi."

A shocked expression crosses her face. She turns away and doesn't respond. "Won't you...ย  entertain me?" I sigh. "Being tied up doesn't exactly give me much to do." "How do you know my name?" She snaps, only glancing at me before looking away again. "Why wouldn't I? It's all N could say, once he learned it." Dude's got a thing for tsunderes... Uzi turns towards me, suddenly and yells. "He does?!" "Erm, did I...say that out loud...?" I cringe. At least she's talking to me though. I try to change the topic.
"What's your favourite colour?"
"Why are you asking me this?!"
"I'll say mine."
She sighs and mumbles, "Black..." "Like your soul?" I comment, letting a small smile cross my face. "Yes." She says, unironically, her eyes suddenly staring at me with interest. "How'd you know?" "Ohh, erm..." I mumble, awkwardly. She just keeps looking at me patiently. "Lucky guess." I say simply.
"What's...yours?" she asks carefully. "Not that I care or anything, I just..." she trails off.

"Since I said mine, I should know yours. Tell me." She demands. "Oh it's..." Suddenly, I'm overcome by a wave of strange random memories, but I can't piece them together. But I know. "Yellow." Like golden retrievers. I try to ignore this strange thought. "I'm so hungry.." I hiss. Uzi immediately backs away from me. "Don't... touch me." She says, but I can hear the fear in her trembling voice. Her face terrified. "Please, I have standards." I try to look disgusted. It doesn't work. I just look at her.

Her breath catches, and she ends up running out the room. I'm too embarrassed to call out for her. Why would I? I don't care. I literally don't even care...

~\\UZI'S POV//~

I run away, as fast as I can. It's embarrassing to think that I'd be scared of anyone, but I definitely didn't want to be in there with that oil-thirsty murder drone any longer. I stop running and break into a more fast walk. I brush my dark, purple hair out of my eyes as I hurry away from her. I bump into something. I quickly pull away and look up at what I'd hit. I blush. N looks surprised, then smiles. "Hey." He says, still smiling down at me. "Hey.." I mumble, still embarrassed. "You look kinda..." he hesitates. "Shook. You okay?" "I'm fine." I glare at him. He looks at little hurt, then smiles a bit sadly. "I must be annoying you." He says quickly. "I get that, a lot..."
I feel a little bad. "It's not you." He tilts his head. "Who, then?" "V. I think she wants to... eat me or something." I say it sarcastically, but the thought makes me shiver. "Aw, no... V's just..." he struggles to find something to say about her. "A little psychotic. Which is why we tied her up, so she wouldn't eat y-" he stops, his breath catching.

"I'm sure she likes you." "Sure." I cringe. "Really!" He says, unironically. "She just doesn't like me because, well, y'know..."
"I don't. ...know." His expression seemed to be testing me. He sighed. "You know," he tried to clarify. "I'm- me!" "And what's wrong with you?" I say, without thinking. Dumbass. He smiles, wholly this time. He looks like a golden retriever with his immensely pleased expression. I gently back away from him, because it looks like he's about to explode onto me with joy. "S-seriously, there's a lot of things.." He rubs his neck and tries to look away from me, but nothing can hide the embarrassed smile on his face. He finally composes himself and looks back at me. "But, uh, anyway," he says, "Like I was going to say- of course she likes you, because she has no reason not to. I mean you're-" He stops and something unrecognizable crosses his face. "Really cool." And then it was back, the same genuine smile.

I smiled sheepishly and, to my embarrassment, blush a bit. "Thanks." I didn't know what it is about him, but somehow his smile was so contagious I didn't feel myself when I ended up smiling back. We struggled to say anything for a while, but the silence felt comfortable. Mostly because I enjoyed just looking over at him as we stood in the quiet. But I knew it couldn't last. "I should be going," I said, breaking the silence. N's head swerved around to look at me. "Oh?" He looked and sounded a bit disappointed. "I have, you know, school.." I clarified. "Not that you guys would..." How could I forget? N wasn't different, I couldn't... enjoy his company. In the end he was another murder drone that thirsted for nothing but my oil. And yet I couldn't quite believe these thoughts. Not towards him. He felt like... the first...real...friend I'd ever had before. But I knew it couldn't last. I knew he'd just abandon me, like...my dad did. Because no one cares about anything around here.

But maybe those are just the worker drones? A voice whispers in the back of my mind. That's true. I'm not like the other drones, I care about things, and my soul is tainted. I'm not like them. I'm not normal. And maybe the... disassembly drones were the same. Maybe they cared about things, maybe N really does care about me. "Uzi?" N asked, breaking my train of thought. "R-right, I-uh, I should.." I stuttered, embarrassed, again. (Why am I always embarrassed around him?) "I should get going then." I started to walk away from him, but he grabbed my wrist. "Wait!" "Let go!" I hiss, shoving his hand off me. He doesn't seem to notice my facade, though. "Can I walk you back?" He asks, nervously. "Wh- I'm perfectly able to walk MYSELF, thanks!" I yell right back at him. "But...I don't want you to get hurt..." "I can- defend myself, whatever might be on my way back! And it's NOT like I'm scared of anything!" I lie, trying not to let my voice shake in the process.

"I'm not letting you go on your own. Let me go with you." He demanded. "N-no!" I protested. "Uzi, I'm not letting you go on your own. M-maybe you should stay here, with us. Your... place of living is kind of messed up anyway, now." He pointed out.
I groan because he's right. I let myself lean against him. I really needed to lean on something right now. He reached out, but I slapped his hand away. I'm so gullible.

Wow, I can't believe it's already been this long since I first started writing stuff on Wattpad. But anywayyy thANX for reading!
I'm sorry this chapter took kind of really long because like- I lost motivation as soon as I started it. And then I got some comments on here and alot of people were adding it to their reading lists (tysm) and it's also like #8 on Vuzi rnn SO I was like 'damn I shouldย  execute this' and TODAY I did get the motivation, and write most of it. So here y'all fucking go.
About the story in general, if I have the motivation I think I'll keep going with it for now, but like who knows I might looose motivation again. Although this IS sorta the fun and juicy part of the story soooo UwU
Anyway y3a, good evening, or night because I fucking hate the daytime because I'm ๐Ÿ–ค edgy
