last part - the wedding!

Manan were missing each other to the core. Nandini was secretly taken to her native place Manglore and Manik was here in Mumbai.

Manik: ma, why this stupid practice or not letting the bride and the groom meet each other?

Nyonika: Manik, how excited are you to meet her??

Manik: to the core!  I cannot express it in words....!!

Nyonika: so this is actually to make your meeting more interesting. You must hold on this excitement till your wedding.

Manik: fyn..! When are we leaving?

Nyonika: very soon.. :)

Soo theyarted to their wedding destination which is Chennai..!!! It's a wonderful city with lots of temples and beautiful beaches. The wedding set up was finalized mostly by manik's siblings. They didn't show even a pic to manan as they wanted to watch their suprise reaction.

Mukthi: atlast all set..!

Cabir: yeah! Lets get ready. We have to check on the bride and groom as well.

That evening:

Note: it was a simple wedding as many guests were not invited. It included Nandini's parents and grandparents and of course her sibling. From manik's side, it was his parents and siblings. They wanted it to be a simple one but with lots of fun!

Soon the mehandhi artists were called to display their beautiful designs on the girls hand. Nandini asked the artist to write manik's name in such a way that he will take his entire time in finding that.

Others were also done with their mehandhi. It was almost 3 in the afternoon and their stomachs started to growl. All were fed by their husbands but poor girl Nandini was not even allowed to meet him. He was completely guarded by Nandini's mom and Nyonika. Abhimanyu and cabir fed Nandini as they were more like her brothers.

The next one was the chura ceremony in which the bride's mama make them wear the chuda. But since they were not there, it was done by cabir, Abhimanyu, Dhruv and Rishab.

The mehandhi and haldi ceremony took place simultaneously. Manik planned to actually apply haldi first on Nandini but all his plans goes on vain as Nyonika didn't allow him!  He was soo damn frustrated! It's been only a week since they last met but its like ages since they have met.

Now at  last came the time to break their suspense of meeting each other as it is their wedding day!  They were dressed in traditional south indian clothes.

Manik

Nandini

Nyonika: you are looking like an angel.

Nandini blushes and goes. Manik was clearly dumbstruck by seeing the sight in front of him.

He whispers something in her ears.

Manik: no wonder they say that the gift of patience will be the best. See here you are in front of me after damn week. I wish we were in our room ;)

Nandini simply blushes but before she replies back, she was pulled by the girls and Manik was pulled by the boys to the stage as the priest announced their time of exchange of garlands.

As per the south indian tradition, one must wear two garlands. The first one will be permanent and the second one will be exchanged between the bride and groom. So their first garland was all set to be adorned. Manik put it on Nandini and Nandini put it on Manik.

First garland.

Before they put their next garland, Manik was lifted by Raj, Dhruv and Rishab.

Manik smiled at Nandini as she pouted. But she didn't get disappointed as she was soon lifted by cabir, Dhruv and Abhimanyu. Manik already being tall, gave a tough time for Nandini to put the garland. But with her looks and pouts, she managed to make manik's head down but again he was dragged behind. Again Nandini lost. This continued for a while and at last, they exchanged their garlands.

Second garland.

Now the priest called them for their swing ceremony. The swing symbolised the ups and downs of life. They were fed with milk and banana.

The next was their marriage. The bride is given her marriage dress.

Now came the most awaited moment! Their wedding. The girl is made to sit on her father's lap and then the bride groom ties the mangalsutra around her neck. The preist recites" MANGALYAM thanthunana mama Jeevana hey thuna, thanthe badhnami shubhake mama Jeevana sharanagatham" (A mantra that is chanted during marriage) The entire area is filled with the the sounds of beats.

They were showered with lots of flowers. The flowers are considered to be the blessings from the elders which is actually the blessings of god's from heaven.

They are made to sit on a silk mat and then the holy hymns are chanted. Then the groom is asked to apply Sindoor on the bride's forehead.

Now they make rounds around the sacred fire. The entire area was filled with love and care. It was a limited person affair but it was filled with happiness and joy. They hold their hands in this way

During the last of the seventh round, the groom makes her wear the toe ring. Her toe is kept on the grindstone and then the groom makes her wear the toe ring. It implies that their new bond will be as strong as that stone. It is strong enough to break anyone but nothing can break it.

Now the preist pronounces them husband and wife. They are all set to take the blessings from the elders. They are asked to feed each other which symbolises care and affection towards each other.

Now they are all set to make their grahapravesh in which the bride enters her husband's house and she is warmly welcomed by her in-laws. She is then fed with sweet and given a saree to adorn herself and a piece of jewellery.

The entire day was filled with fun, enjoyment, happiness.

Atlast the night came and they were all set for the first night. But the bride and groom being more exhausted of the rituals decided to take rest as they have got the entire life for staying together with each other. There is only one thing that lasts forever which i love for each other. At different stages of life, it is expressed differently. During the initial stage of marriage it is attraction and after it comes possessiveness. After few more years comes care. After some more years comes the complete trust that she is made for me and we will cherish our memories forever. Thus true love lasts forever and ever. And thus they lived happily ever after :)
