You walked through the halls of Hexside quickly, you hoped you weren't too late. Grom was almost over and you were supposed to be there 10 minutes ago. Earlier that night your best friend had been stood up by his Grom date. You of course saw the depressing post on pictagram.

 So you got ready as fast as you could so and ran all the way to Hexside. You wanted to make sure Edric was okay and to keep him company. You made it to the gym and took a deep breath before entering. The grom pit had been closed and couples were slow dancing to the ongoing music. Edric sat with Emera on the empty bleachers. 

Both looking sad and lonely, "Hey." You greeted. Edric looked up at you and paused, mouth open ready to say something but nothing came out. 

"Edric say something to him." Emera nudged her twin. 

"H-hey Y/N." He finally managed out, his face red. You smiled and sat down next to him, "You okay?" You asked and held Edrics hand in yours. 

"Yeah you know me, it was bound to happen anyway." Edric answered but couldn't keep his eyes off your hand. 

"I'm gonna go see if I can find Mittens." Emera said and left the two of you boys alone. 

"Hey so what if we had a dance? Since you don't have a date anymore I could fill in." You offered and stood up. Edric smiled and stood up with you. 

Both walked over to the dance floor, Edric placed his arms on your hips and you placed yours on his shoulders. "Feeling better yet?" You asked as the two of you swayed to the music. 

Edric nodded with a smile and then continued to sway calmly to the music. You rested your head against Edrics shoulder and you both couldn't help but smile. "I made a mistake today," Edric blurted out. 

You lifted his head up, "You? Made a mistake? Never." You teased. Edric smiled and rolled his eyes, "Its true!" He claimed. 

"Oh yeah and what was it?" You asked. 

"I should have asked you to Grom. not some other loser." Edric said and there was a truthfulness to his tone, no jokes like usual. You smiled at him, "No duh. I'm your best friend." 

Edric shook his head, "Not as friends, I want to ask you out on a real date." You looked shocked, "Really?" You asked. 

"Really." Edric said. You smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek, "That'd be cool." You said and laughed. Edric joined you. The two of you laughed and danced together the rest of the night.
