The Chase

You stood up in the stirrups, getting into the two point position. You extended your arms forward giving Blaze his head, and grabbed onto his mane so you would have better balance. Then you squeeze him with your legs asking him to go faster. Blaze happily obliged. He shot forward extending his front legs as far as they could go and pushing with his back legs as hard as he could. The two of you went faster and faster. You could hear each one of his four hoof beats hit the ground separately, and every push with his back legs launched you forward. You could feel every ounce of his raw power. For a second you let your mind wander off of the mission at hand. You realized that you have never gone this fast on horse back before. What if you fell? What if Blaze tripped? You felt fear creep into your heart. "No." You thought to yourself . "You can't think like that. Your not giving up now." You locked your eyes onto the target ahead of you, the car. You needed to get to the car. You steadied your breathing, only focusing on the car and your breathing. If you weren't carful you could get a pretty nasty side ache if you didn't breath right as you galloped on a horse.

Like how you had to steady your breathing while you ran. It was the same idea.

The two of you where catching up to the car when it came across a fork in the road, it swerved to the left and you and Blaze over shot it. You ended up in the woods, again, the car was out of our sight. You slowed down to a stop. "We lost them!" You yelled in frustration to no one in particular. "Now what do we do?" You looked down at your horse. He was breathing heavily but he was looking around as if he was trying to find them. His ear on the left side of his head turned left and stayed there for a minute. You knew he must have heard something. Horses always point their ears in the direction of the things they are paying attention to. He turns his head towards the direction his ear was facing both ears straight forward. He nickered and pawed the ground.

"They're that way?" You asked him. Blaze neighed loudly and pawed even more ferociously than before. "Ok. I trust you. Take me to them Blaze! Heya!" You extended your arms once agin grabbed onto his mane and squeezed his sides with your legs. Blaze wasted no time and we took off into the forest.

You did not steer Blaze because you had no idea where you were going. Blaze was the one tracking the car and all you could do was trust him. He galloped through the forest making turns to the right or to the left every so often. You were glad you could hold onto his mane or else you would have fallen off his back about five separate times. The two of you shot out of the forest and onto the outskirts of a giant field. At the other end of the field was the black car speeding down the road. A clear shot no trees no bushes just an open field. Should be easy right?

Well it would have been if there was not a five foot tall barbed wire fence in the way. The fence stretched all the way down the field.

Blaze picked up speed heading straight for the fence. You picked up the reins and pulled back trying to get him to stop. There had to be another way around the massive deadly fence. Blaze on the other had, was convinced that the only way around the five foot barbed wire fence was over the five foot barbed wire fence. He ignored you pulling on the reins and sped up. You realized that no madder what you did there would be no stoping him. So what do you do in this situation?

You prepare for the jump.

"Ok." You thought to yourself . "Knees in, heels down don't look at the jump look passed it to where you want to land. Get ready to two point and grab mane. Don't bring your legs up into fetal when you land or your coming off his back." The jump got closer and closer. "You can do this!" You told yourself. "No you can't! Your mind countered. "You are both going to get extremely hurt if you don't make it over!"

"Shut up!" You thought to yourself . "We can do this!" That's when the internal battle began. "No you can't! Yes I can! No! Yes! No! Yes!" The fence was now about two strides away . "No! YES!!!" You two pointed, grabbed mane, and squeezing with your knees. You could feel all of his power once agin. His back legs launched the two of you into the air and you rose off the ground. It's like everything slowed down. You started coming down and you braced your feet forward to catch yourself . You cleared the fence and took off after the car.

You and Blaze where now on the cars tail. The two of you where so close to it, you couldn't lose it again. But how could you stay with it and get Morgan out?

You directed Blaze to go by the passenger door. When you got there you reached out and grabbed and handle and tugged on it. Locked. Of corse. The car sped up so now it was just barley in front of you. Then an idea popped into your head. You had to get on top of the car.

You hooked Blaze's reins onto your saddle horn so they wouldn't fall forward, having Blaze step on them while he was running. That would be bad. You slid your feet out of the stirrups and put your hands on the pommel, the part of the western saddle that goes up in the front that the horn sits on, and hoisted yourself up. You positioned your feet under you, on the seat of the saddle, knees bent and still holding on to the pommel so you were in a crouching position.

"I'm going to die today." You thought to yourself. Then you launched yourself off of Blaze. You, somehow made it on the roof of the car. You landed on your stomach and grabbed onto both sides of the car. The driver started swerving, trying to shake you off. You held on tighter. You were not going to fall off. The wind wiped your hair around your head and your muscles where screaming at you, but you where not going to let go.

The road narrowed out because of the trees that lined both sides of the road and it was now straight. This was your chance. You got into a sitting position and swung your legs over the side. You pressed your hands flat against the roof of the car to brace yourself. You extended your legs out then swung them back in. Kicking the back passenger window with your heels. You kicked again and again. You heard commotion in the car but you couldn't focus on that right now. You were about to kick again when the man in the front passenger seat grabbed your left leg and started pulling on it. He had unrolled his window and now was trying to get you off of the car.

"Rude!" You yelled at the man. "You do NOT, get to grab my leg!" He looked at you confused. He was probably thinking, 'I'm about to pull this girl off the roof of the car while we are speeding down an dirt road and she is yelling at me to not grab he leg? What a weirdo.' You used your right leg and kick the guy square in the face as hard as you could. He let go, grabbing his now broken nose. You then kicked the window one last time with all your strength, you heard a crash and your feet went through the glass. You broke the window, feeling a sense of pride at what you had just done, but it did not last long. The road widened again and the driver started trying to shake you off. You rolled onto your stomach and grabbed the sides of the car. He swerved hard to the left you slid a little but managed to grab the place where the window you had just broken was. You felt liquid on your hands and wondered what it was, before you could think about that you heard your horse neigh. He ran out of the forest and and lined up to the side of the car. He must have taken a short cut through the woods. You leaped off the car and back onto his back.
"Good boy." You told him. You looked through the window and saw the man that had grabbed your leg trying to hold Morgan back. You made made eye contact with her then extended your hand, giving her the invitation to come to you. She bit the guy hard on the hand. He let go. She climbed over to the window and looked at you.

"Jump!" You told her with your hand still outstretched to her. "I'll catch you! I won't let you fall. I promise." That seemed to be enough for her because a second latter she jumped out the window. You grabbed her arm and hoisted her up into the saddle in front of you. You wrapped one of your arms around Morgan's waist and held onto Blaze's reins with the other hand. You pulled back on the reins and Blaze stoped. All of you were breathing heavily.

The car stopped and turned to face you. "Blaze I know you just ran, a lot, but I need you to get us out of here." You told him. "Do you think you can handle that?" Blaze snorted as if to say 'don't worry, I got this.'

"Hang on." You told Morgan. She grabbed the saddle horn and you tightened your arm around her. "Show me what you got bud. Heya!" Blaze turned and took off down the dirt road the way you came.

You quickly realized that you and Blaze couldn't ride as crazy as you did when you were chasing the car. Morgan didn't have the greatest balance. She would tilt one way or the other, and you would have to shift your own wight so she could grab onto you and reposition her self back in the saddle, even with your arm around her.

Blaze was giving it his all. You were still ahead of the car but You weren't sure how much longer Blaze could last. Unlike cars horses get tired. You could feel Blaze starting to slow down. To be honest you were surprised at how long he held up. Blaze should have collapsed from exhaustion by now, or at the very least refused to run.

"Come on bud." You said to him urging him on, "just a little longer." Then you heard something. Something loud coming our way, like a plane.

You looked down the trail and there, flying towards you was the one and only Iron Man.

He flew over your heads and blasted the engine of car behind you. The car slid to a stop in a smokey heap. You stopped Blaze, turning him around.

Iron Man landed between you and the now smoking car on the road. "Daddy!" Morgan yelled. She climbed down and ran to him. Tony stepped out of his iron suit and fell to his knees with his arms out for Morgan. She hugged him around his neck and Tony kissed the top of her head. Tony then stood up with Morgan in his arms as if he let go he would lose her. Tony was telling Morgan how sorry he was and that he will never let anything like this happen again.

You smiled to yourself and swung off of Blaze. "Good job bud." You said to your horse. You went to go pet his muzzle when you saw your hands. They where cut up pretty badly and they were bleeding everywhere. You looked at your reins to see they to were covered in your blood. 'I must have cut them up on the broken glass from the window when I went to grab the side of the car to stop from falling off.' You thought to yourself.

You got kicked out of your thoughts when you heard a plane extremely close by, and felt a strong wind hit your face. You squinted your eyes to keep the dust out of them and looked behind you where a quinjet was landing, one of the Avengers air craft vehicles.

"Hey kid." You looked back over at Tony and Morgan. "What's your name?" Tony asked you.
