Chapter 3-Choices

NATALIE

After he left, I just waited.

Waited to be let go.

Waited for him to come back.

Just waited.

But it had been over an hour and still nothing.

"Hey, Trevor!"

I heard someone call from somewhere in the house.

"Yeah?" Someone called back.

It was him.

His name was Trevor.

"Hudson, get in here! You're never going to believe who just won the hockey game!"

I heard someone swiftly run past the door and then I couldn't hear anything besides wild cheers.

And then nothing.

Oh my God.

He was Trevor Hudson.

My eyes grew wide as the news reports of crimes, fires, and murders flashed through my head.

"Police say they suspect Trevor Hudson and his gang 'The Terminators' are almost certain to be behind a string of crimes in the area. Unfortunately, there is no direct evidence pointing to anyone at the time. Looks like The Terminators had done it again."

I was snapped out of my trance by the door swinging open.

It was Trevor.

He was smirking at me from the doorway.

After he didn't say anything for a good while, I looked in his eyes.

"I know who you are." I spoke slowly, cautiously.

He chuckled and swiftly shut the door with his foot behind him, making his way over to me.

"I knew you'd figure it out sooner or later."

He dragged the chair from the wall over to the side of the bed and plopped down into it.

"So, who am I?"

He smirked, watching me daringly to say his name.

"Trevor Hudson?" I said it as more of a question because I was nervous, even though I was certain.

He chuckled and swiftly removed his jacket, throwing it on the end of the bed, revealing his toned, tanned, tattooed arms.

I'd never really seen so many tattoos.

It wasn't like anyone at church had them.

They immediately caught my attention and I heard Trevor chuckle as I studied them.

I looked away sheepishly.

"Like em?"

He smirked at me.

I didn't reply.

I couldn't help it.

I had to ask.

"What are you going to do with me?"

I turned my head to look at him.

"That depends on you."

He licked his lips and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"W-What about me?" I asked, nervous and unsure of what the answer going to be.

He chuckled darkly, leaning down toward me and placing his elbows on his knees.

"If you decided to help me."

He turned serious, his hard eyes staring into my wide ones, intently.

I never wanted to help someone like him with anything.

Ever.

I immediately began shaking my head no.

"Look, Princess. It's your best option. Trust me." He said, clearly irritated.

I still shook my head no.

He rolled his eyes.

"Let's put it this way. You either help me and I let you go, or I make other arrangements for you. And by other arrangements, I mean I'll literally be planning your funeral."

He clenched his jaw and looked away from me before flicking his eyes back to me.

"What it'll be, love?"

He cocked his head to one side, waiting for me to answer.

"What will I have to do?" I mumbled quietly.

I could only imagine the things he'd make me do in exchange for my freedom.

I shuddered at the thought.

He smirked and leaned back in his chair.

The look in his eyes clearly showing that he'd gotten me right where he wanted me.

"Not so fast. Before the victory comes, the game and even before that, the practice." He smirked at me. "First things first, we'll need to phone Mrs. Marino." He chuckled and pulled out my phone from his own pocket.

Why would we call my mom?

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"She's been calling all damn day. Get her to shut the hell up and I'll untie you."

He casually typed in my passcode.

"How'd you know that?!" I shouted at him.

He shrugged, going through my contacts.

"Hacked it."

He pressed call on what I assumed was my mother's number and held the phone up to my ear for me while his dark eyes stared straight into mines.

"Don't do anything stupid." He warned me as it began to ring.

She picked up on the second buzz.

"Mom? Hey, it's Natalie." I said carefully as I stared back at Trevor.

I could easily scream help or call 911 or really anything into the phone, but would they even have enough time to find me?

As his free hand came up to lace itself under my chin and grasp it firmly, reinforcing our gaze, I got my answer.

"Don't." He mouthed to me and I nodded slowly as he let go of me.

I knew he was serious.

This was literally life...or death.

"Mom, I'm staying with Gina for a few days. I mean, if that's alright." I said nervously.

"No, nothing's wrong. You know how I am about staying home alone..." I trailed off.

"So, how long are you going to be gone?" I asked silently, praying she'd say that she'd be back sooner than expected.

She didn't.

After a few more minutes of small chitchat, we said our goodbyes and Trevor took the phone away from my ear, sliding it back into his pocket.

He then looked up to meet my eyes with an expected look on his face.

I registered the look and immediately knew what he wanted to know.

"She's not coming back until next Sunday night." I said, a tinge of sadness in my voice.

She was hardly ever around anymore.

"I can work with a week." He said more to himself than me.

I cleared my throat and jingled my cuffs expectantly.

Trevor rolled his eyes and took the key.

"You run and the deal's off. Fuck, let's just be blunt about it. You run and I'll kill you." He said as he shrugged.

I hated the way he cussed.

"You shouldn't cuss." I told him seriously as he uncuffed my right wrist.

"Why?" He rolled his eyes.

"Because it's a sin." I told him in a 'duh' tone.

He chuckled.

"If God dropped a cement block on his foot, you don't think he'd say 'fuck'?"

He uncuffed my left wrist.

"No!" I shrieked and he chuckled.

"Shit, I would."

Trevor reached down and pulled me to my feet too quickly and I stumbled.

"What's going on?" I asked nervously.

"Remember, Princess? Before the game comes the practice." He smirked down at me. "And, you're going to meet the coaches, my gang."

I nearly dropped dead.
