Sleep Bug

"Now? My queen, the real game can begin." The girl smiled.

The Spider Queen stares up at the young female, now starting to believe.. she wasn't really helping her at all.

....

Y/n laughed brightly, sprinting through the fields. "Hey, papie, watch this!" She called to the male behind her on the porch of a palace in the garden. Y/n hopped up high, managing a good flip. She smiled, not exactly.. looking at her father directly.

"Excellent job, my darling!" Calleed her papie, applauding. Y/n smiled as a masculine voice rang through the air.

"{€☆£, the lady wishes your presence." Informed the a male she knew as the General. Again, she couldn't exactly look at his face but remembered the strange armor.

She frowned. "Bye-bye, papie." She sighed. Her father,,{€☆£ smiled at his daughter and pressed his hands against his cheeks. He placed a gentle kiss against her forehead. "I'll be back, my little sunshine." He reassured, patting between her ears. Y/n looked down sheepishly and giggled.

....

"Your highness, the lady wants you to be ready for bed." Said the General. Y/n whined, kicking her fluffy legs.

"But it's not star-time yet! Papie promised he'd sing me a song again!" She whimpered, ears flopping back. There it was again, the soft rub between her ears as a sign of comfort.

"There, there, your highness. I'm sure he'll be available tomorrow." She only looked up enough to see his wide, broad smile. She smiled back. "Promise?" She asked.

The general nodded. "Of course I promise." Y/n hopped into bed, snuggling into the covers. "Mr. General, sir?" She called nervously, not very fond of the dark.

The general turned, still grinning ear to ear. "Can.. you please read me a story? Just until I fall asleep?" She requested.

The General nodded. "Of course, anything for your highness. But I must be on my way to my lady soon, or she'll get mad." He said in a cheerful tune.

Y/n giggled but nodded anyways. "Okay." She hummed, turning onto her side to watch how he told the story.

"Once, there existed a world of mistakes and wrong-doers. A world of people so mean and so cruel, that it was dying." The General said. Y/n gasped lightly. "Oh, no.." She commented.

"Then, one day, a gorgeous woman appeared. She saw how the citizens of the world treated it with impurity and unjust acts. She decided to fix this, gathering power and creating spells to fix it." He described dramatically.

Y/n lit up. "Does she fix it? The world?" She asked curiously before the General hushed her. "We're getting there, your highness." He said with his oddly monotone voice yet bright look.

"Then, all the people saw what she was doing. They didn't like how she saw things differently from them, so they chased her." Y/n exhaled softly in worry for the fictional woman.

"They chased and chased her, but she was saved by a strange being. A strange rabbit demon with peculiar spells she's never seen before.

They bonded over a campfire. And then, they spent thier free time together in the gardens. And after a while, the rabbit demon found himself falling for the majestic woman. He wanted to help her achieve her goal in purifying this imperfect world." He spoke.

Y/n yawned, eyes beginning to flutter shut. "The woman saw the rabbit demon as her husband," he spoke, "But not just a husband, she also knew just how powerful he was.."

The General trailed off at the sound of her gentle snores. He smiled, tucking in the young girl. "Goodnight, your highness." He farewelled.

....

Y/n woke up with a yawn, sniffing the air to smell berries. She hopped down from her bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes. She wore her pajamas made of expensive silk and high quality material. She hopped down the stairs, galactic eyes scanning over the paintings with blurred out faces. Each member of the three-person family had expensive looking clothes. She frowned a the sight of no one at the table.

..again.

She sat down in her seat, her mother's seat empty and her father's seat vacant. The General walked up. "Good morning, your highness. My lady is off on an errand and your father has to take care of a mission."

Y/n huffed, resting her cheek on her palm. "Can't they just send one of you to do it?" She asked the smiling male.

He hummed. "I have my own duties to attend to, your highness. I do not know when they'll be back, but I'm sure your father would be delighted to see a smile on your face!" He said. 'Your father'.. Not your mother. Y/n could read between the lines.

He wanted her to smile.

The corners of her lips lifted into a half-enthusiastic look. "Much better, your highness. Now, classes start at 1:00 on the afternoon in the courtyard. The weather is positively bright today, so you should have no problem!" He chirped before standing up straight from his semi-bent position he was in the keep his head level with Y/n's. Her ears drooped, but she nodded anyway.

"Okay." She hummed, eating her berries. "Alright, your highness. I will be off on my royal duties." He informed curtly and professionally before leaving.

....

Y/n yawned and woke up again, the smell of smoke hitting her lungs. She coughed. "Papie?" She cried, panic racing through her veins. She hopped out of bed, her father bursting into her room as blue flames locked the walls. His ears were pinned against his head.

"Sunshine!" He called, quickly grabbing his daughter with a leather bag around his shoulder. "Come. Quickly." Said the blurred out face.

She began to cry in fear as her father lifted her into his arms. "She's going to be after you. After your power. You must never speak to her. Never, do you understand?" Asked her father as he ran furtur into the forest.

He changed his daughter out of her expensive clothes and into different, more common worn ones. She whimpered. "Papie?" She sniffed. "Papie, what's happening?"

Her father pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead, rough hands against her cheeks. "I'll explain everything when I can." He swore as he set her down into a crate.

"Promise?" Asked Y/n.

"I promise." Insisted the rabbit warrior. He looked back, hearing maniacal laughter. He raised a finger to his lips before racing off, blue spirits and flames chasing after him.

Y/n's eyes went wide as the faceless man met a painful fate, and she began to soh loudly.

She doesn't know how long she was crying, but she had been crying for a long time. Very loudly, as a simian would put it.

He groaned, the meditating monkey-- or at least he tried to meditate and failed, hopped down from his position on his tail.

"Don't go too far, Wukong!" Called a monk's voice.

....

Y/n gasped away, finding her face wet with tears and no update on her phone. She blinked in confusion as she looked around to see everyone waking up in Pigsy's Noodle Shop. What did she dream about again? She wondered as MK burst inside.

....

Y/n opened her phone inside of Pigsy's Noodle Shop, wearing her shirt. After much convincing, she finally put it on with Pigsy's insisting and Tang's persuading.

Her hair was styled the way she liked it and she was on break. What could go wrong? Then, her phone jingled, making her ear twitch.

"Sleep Bug?" She asked aloud curiously before clicking on it.

Why.. did she feel so tired??

Y/n yawned deeply, laying her head down. Surely she could just.. rest her eyes for a bit.

....

Eh, it's whatever. The dream was probably one of those crazy ones anyway. She shrugged it off and turned towards the center of the restraint, standing and stretching with a long yawn.

"Yeesh, how long was I out?" She asked, wiping the tears from her cheeks with confusion. "Was I really crying that much?" She wondered.
