Calabash

Jin and Yin both laughed victoriously. "Alrighty! All done and fixed." The Gold Demon: Jin cheered, lifting the carefully glued pot. "Okay, so, uh. What now?" Asked the Silver Demon: Yin.

They shared a look and pulled out an abnormally large book with multiple book markers and annotations. "So, the Monkie Kid didn't work. What was plan B again?" Asked Yin. "Uhhh, don't mess up plan A." Answered Jin.

They both shared a look before nodded. "Onto Plan C!"

....

Y/n gasped awake, rubbing her head. Ugh. She felt like she was knocked out and forced back awake. She shook her head, ears swiveling on her head. She looked around to see a forest around her. "Oh-- woah."

Y/n stood up in confusion, rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Sunny? MK?" She called, walking around. "Mei! Guys!?" She cried with worry before catching a whiff of something. She sniffed.

Again. She smiled, finally recognizing the place she was in. She raced towards a specific direction, leaping up high above the tree and using her Star Steps. There it was, a familiar mountain standing high and proud over the island.

Honestly, she didn't even remember taking a walk. She assumed that maybe it was due to being so tired after playing in the Zero Gravity Arcade with Mei and MK, she decided to take a walk and passed out. It's not like it mattered, since everything was okay now.

Y/n made her way towards her room, humming softly. It was a song she didn't recognize, nor did she know she origins of such song. She didn't mind, though. It was a cute song. She hummed it in front of MK and Mei once, and they said they'd heard it before as well somewhere, but none of them could place a finger on where.

Y/n pulled out what she was looking for with a grin. She instantly opened the box and pulled out a thingd of Tupperware filled with sweet ropes candy.

She smiled, recalling the origins of why she had them stocked everywhere.

....

Monkey King groaned at yet another one of his electronics not working.
Y/n stuck out her tongue, crossing her arms defiantly.

"You're a rabbit, but that doesn't mean you have to chew up my wires!!" He cried. "Yeah, well, it's not my fault they look chewable!"

....

Y/n pulled three out before placing it back under her bed. She pulled out her book as well and began to study, chewing on the sweet ropes. Then, she yelped as an earthquake shook the bed she was sitting on. She face planted, rubbing her nose. A knock on her door was heard.

"Hey, Y/n! You good in there?" Asked Monkey King from the outside.

Y/n? Since when did Monkey King ever call her by her actual name?? She shrugged it off. "Yeah, I'm good. She shut her book and walked over to open the door. As usual, Monkey King wore his normal getup and Y/n wore hers as well.

Monkey King pointed outside. "MK is outside." He said randomly. Y/n blinked and nodded. "O-kay."

She giggled lightly, racing outside to tackle MK in a hug. "Hey, dude!" She greeted.

MK smiled. "Hey, Y/n!" He greeted back, turning around to hug her. MK now, too? This was weird. Y/n paused, sniffing at him with her nose twitching.

MK sweatdropped. "Uh, you good?" He asked. Y/n frowned. "You don't smell normal." She pointed out. She had noticed the same thing with Wukong when he first opened her door.

She yelped, falling over as another earthquake shook the mountain. Y/n rubbed her head as her splitting headache came back. She could've sworn she'd gotten a bruise or something.

Y/n stood back up and Mei popped in. "Woah! Careful, Y/n! You might hurt yourself." She warned. Okay, now there was no way any of this was real anymore. Was this a dream?

....

Yin yanked away the Calabash. "You idiot! The girl isn't supposed to be on the mountain!!" He shouted.

"Yeah, well, your turn ended when you put the boy on the island!" Jim shot back, trying to pull the pot-shaped thing out of Yin's hands.

They shouted in panic as it began to Crack.

....

Y/n's eyes widened as the holograms began to flicker in and out.

....

"We shoulda used more glue!" Jin cried. "No kidding!" Shouted Yin as a glow emitted from the already existing cracks.

Y/n popped out, looking infuriated. Her hands were in fists as soon as she caught the scent of a single- no, two-- familiar demons. She growled lowly.

....

Needless to say, Jin and Yin would have quite the bruises on the back of thier heads.

....

As for how Y/n was put in the Calabash?

Y/n had decided to help out with orders, waiting tables and attending to customers. Then, a hooded figure tapped her shoulder. She turned around and smiled. "Hi! How can I help you today?" She asked, memorizing the stranger by scent. They smelled dingy, like washed laundry with a hint of sweat.

The figure pointed outside. "My friend and I have lost our, uh... pet cat." He said in a high-pitched voice. Y/n blinked before nodding. "..Right. Uh, I'll be right over to help you guys." She reassured.

When Y/n had walked out, they led her to the park. A reasonable place to hide a cat. Then, they took a turn. Y/n frowned in confusion, but continued to follow anyway.

There was a blinding pain on the back of her head and a loud smash was heard. Black swam within her vision and the stars on her body shimmered in alarm.

"Jin, you idiot! You were supposed to use the chemical-y thingy to make her pass out!" Rin shouted, waving a fist.

Jin shrugged. "I thought you said 'plank of wood'." "How the heck did you hear 'plank of wood' come outta my mouth!?"

....

Y/n made her way back into the shop, yawning despite having just woken up a little while ago. Then again, maybe because it was her earlier 'nap' was forcefully induced with a plank of freaking wood.

MK waved at her. "Hey, carrots!" He greeted. Mei popped out behind him and grinned. "Bunny!!" She cheered. "Come on, come on! We gotta beat my high score on Monkey Mech!!"

Y/n smiled. This is nice.
