Hermiones pov

"Do you think he actually might be back longer than you think?" Draco asked, it was 10am and I was telling him about the events of last night "I know he has, Blaise isn't as sure" I said, brushing my hair "but wouldn't the prison have been aware?" He questioned "when Sirius black escaped it took them a week to notice he was gone, they say they have control of that prison but they dont" I said. I fixed my outfit which was a light blue t-shirt, black denim jeans and converse.

I tucked my t-shirt into my jeans and grabbed my wand, placing it in the special pocket I had made in my jeans to hold it. "Do you think Blaise is in a good mood?" Draco said as we walked down to the courtyard "I highly doubt it" I said. It was a decently sunny day but it was still slightly chilly. I wrapped my jacket round me more as we approached our group of friends "morning" I said, sitting beside Pansy "here, I went to mcgonogal this morning and told her about last night...she's looking a meeting with us at 12" Blaise said

"what! Are you an idiot? Us being in the forest at that time could get us expelled...for fuck sake even being out of the school at that time could get us expelled" I said "it was the right call if you are so sure that he's been out earlier than we thing" Blaise said "no it was a stupid call especially since you didn't even ask me you twat!" I said "I don't understand why you care so much anyway" Blaise said

"I don't understand why you don't care! The mans a bad person. I care so much because I want to spend time with my mum instead of her being locked up in some safe house, I care because I'd rather none of us died!" I shouted "you don't even know her! You don't know what she's like! Stop trying to act like the daughter of the year to a parent you barely know" he shouted.

I was taken back by what he said and felt the tears well up in my eyes "blaise...I-...take that back" I whispered "no, I'm right and you know it. You only care because you want to feel as though you are actually part of this family even though you aren't. You taking down 'our' dad isn't going to make you somehow feel like you've always belonged. You barely know mum, for fuck sake you barely know me" he said

"that is a lie and you know it!" I said tears falling down my face , I had stood up at this point and a small circle of our friends had formed around us to stop others watching "how is it?" He said "I know your favourite colour is green,not because of your house but because it was the colour of your favourite teddy when you were 5, I know you don't eat carrots as you think that they'll actually make you see in the dark even though they don't, I know that when the war was going on you kept a bunch of first years safe who had missed the chance to go home, I know that the first person to buy you a broom wasn't mum but our uncle Andrew because he took you to a quidditch match when you were 4 without telling mum or dad and I know that when you hear a bird chirp you feel anxious as that was the last thing you heard before chaos broke out in the school" I spat

he stood in silence "so don't you dare stand there and try to say I'm not a part of this family, It might only feel like a couple of months to you but it feels like a lifetime to me...you're still my brother wether you like that or not. Just because you're in denial about the fact that dads not the perfect person you thought he was and are blinded by your family name....I'm not. I fought monsters like him in the war, and I'm not letting him get away. So grow a set of balls, take a deep breath and man the fuck up because this is life and these were the cards we were dealt so fucking deal with it!" I said, stepping back from him "And another thing..." I said, taking off our family ring "If I'm not part of this family you can have this back" I cried, throwing it at him and storming off. Pansy and Ginny running quickly behind me

It was 12, I stood outside Mcgongals office. Blaise forgot to say these were separate meetings. His was over soon and I was brought into the headmistress' office "Miss Zabini, take a seat" she said, I sat on the seat in front of her "I'm going to go straight to the point, you were out of the school after curfew and of all places you were in the forbidden forest. I honestly should be expelling you right now" She said

"And I do not blame you for that headmistress if that is the action you feel needs to be taken , but I needed to speak to my brother in a place no teacher could hear, and then we heard this voice coming from the forest and it was continuously saying our names and I just...I needed to see what it was. Curiosity got the better of me" I said "I see..." she said "can I tell you something headmistress?" I said, she nodded "I seen my father in hogsmede...." I said, she looked shocked.

Blaise mustn't have told her "Thats why I was with Blaise last night, I needed to know if he thought that maybe the papers have lied to us about how long my fathers been out but he doesn't think so" I said "I do" she said "you do?" I questioned, she nodded "i had heard word form the centaurs that they had felt a dangerous shift in the air. And I believe it's from your father being out" she said "what am I meant to do?" I questioned "nothing, you will live life like normal and let the Aurors deal with the situation" she said

"to be quite honest headmistress I don't think that's possiable. I've not exactly lived a normal life and with my track record I believe you know I will not do that" I said, she smiled "none of us have, now don't think you are getting away with no punishment. You and your brother will both serve detention for a week straight" she said. I nodded before walking out of her office.

Blaise was standing by the door, I stormed past him but he grabbed my arm "what do you want?" I spat, my blood beginning to boil "Pansys went missing" he said. I froze, I felt as if my entire body had shut off "w...what do you mean?" I questioned "she went for a walk after checking on you and hasn't came back, we've checked everywhere in the shop and hogsmede for the past hour and nothing" he said "it's only been about 2 and a half hours I'm sure she's fine, where's Harry? Wouldn't she be with him?" I questioned

"he went flying" Blaise said. I stood there, my mind racing. I ran off and up the three sets of stairs leading to my dorm, when I reached the door I ran up to my room and opened my jewellery box. I was looking for a ring, it was the ring she got me when I first came into the Zabini family. It was a small gold one and she had a matching one. It had a spell on it that could lead me to her, like a light to follow "where is it!" I said pouring all the box on my bed. When it wasn't in there I ran over to Draco's room to see if it was in his drssser but nothing

"looking for this?" I heard a voice say, I turned around my wand held against my chest. It was ron, he laughed "give me it!" I spat "no, it's mine now...no point you having it. By the time you find her she'll be dead" he said, running out of the room, I chased him, I chased him through the hallways and out to the courtyard, down the steep hill leading to Hagrids and then when I blinked he was gone. I looked around, my wand pointed out. Then seconds later I heard a scream, it was coming from the forest

I ran towards it but was pushed back when I hit the forest. I tried running again and again but every time I was pushed away. The screams only got louder but it seemed I was the only one who could hear them. By the time they had finished my cheeks were tear stained, I had bruises everywhere and was covered in muck from continuously being thrown away. I hit the ground with my hand letting out a scream.

I knew the screams I heard were hers, I just couldn't get to her. I decided to try get past one more time, I went as far back as I could and bolted right at the forest but like the other attempts was thrown back. I landed on my back and let out a scream of anger. I walked up the edge of the forest and tapped the invisible wall, it seemed to be made of some mix of a potion and spell I just didn't know what type. I heard the screams again, but they began calling my name, and Harry's and Theo's.

I fell beside the wall covering my ears attempting to block them out but they only got louder and began ringing in my ears. Before I knew it everything went dark and the last thing I heard was her cry my name.
