Development  

A piece of concept art shows that the Mist Twister was intended to have membranes between its front and back legs instead of actual wings, similar to a flying squirrel. It also reveals the initial shorter snout and long eyebrow appendages instead of whiskers. 

Physical AppearanceHatchling to Adult 

The Mist Twister looks very similar to the Hideous Zippleback: having two heads on two long necks with a single body. The features on this dragon are based on Chinese culture and patterns, which includes both heads having frills on the sides, long horns, eyebrows, whiskers, goatees and spikes that run down from the neck to the tail. The heads have differents colors, based on their fire types: the fire-breathing (right) head is red, while the ice-breathing (left) head is blue. The red head has wavy horns and a pair of large head frills, while the blue head has curved horns and a pair of small head frills. The Mist Twister's body color is gold with a cream underbelly; and has knees that bend backwards. It also has two large wings compared to body size, and a long tail with two tailfins. The color of the wings and tailfins are based on the color of the heads: the left wing and tailfin being blue, while the right wing and tailfin being red. 

Abilities   Cold and Hot mist

The red head of a Mist Twister dragon is capable of breathing orange sparks or hot steam, while second blue head can breathe icy frost that can form ice structures.

Blast combination

When the two heads of a Mist Twister combine their fires, they can create dense clouds of fog. This can act as a smokescreen, allowing the dragon to hide from attackers. When they combine their blasts they can crack entire boulders or a ceiling of a cave.

Strength

As shown by Wu and Wei, they can easily carry a human teenager by switching on each neck and also even carry two riders at once.

Aquatic

As Tidal class dragons, Mist Twisters are very capable swimmers, pursuing prey like fish under the water.

Endurance

One Mist Twister was unfazed when both heads accidentally slammed into a cave ceiling with great force, causing big crystal formations to fall down.

Weaknesses

Mist Twisters require regular hydration or they will dry out and perish.

Just like the Hideous Zippleback, each head has its own personality. This can cause the two heads to bicker with each other, making them uncooperative with one another, which won't allow them to get anything done.

Behavior and Personality 

Like the Hideous Zippleback, the Mist Twister is shown to bicker between the two heads personalities. While the blue, left head is calm, cool and collective, the red, right head is more aggressive and bold. The dragon also has a mischievous side, as shown when Wu and Wei stole Jun's necklace, and toyed around with her soon after.  

Training

Training a Mist Twister is rather easy once you show you want to respect the dragon rather than try to command or order it around. By showing actual respect to a Mist Twister, the dragon will allow a human to touch their heads, training both heads.
