Chapter 29

"Absolutely not," Amara said as she stood in the school parking lot with  Scott, Stiles, and Issac. The twins have asked Scott to be in the pack since they were no longer alphas.

"Why should I say yes?"Scott asked

"You came to us for help. We helped."Ethan said

"From what I heard you guys were no help at all. He roared without you."Amara mutters and crosses her arms

"We add strength. We'd make you powerful. There's no reason to say no." Aiden answers, ignoring her comment.

"I can think of a few. You killed Erica. You killed Boyd. Tried to kill Issac. I can keep going or I can shove wolfsbane down your throat." She said

"Want to try?" Aiden challenged and took a step
closer to her, growling.

Issac growls at Aiden. He wraps his arms around her protectively, pulling her closer to him.

"They don't trust you. And neither do I."Scott said

"That's code for fuck off," Amara said before walking away

Issac reaches for her hand and squeezes it gently. She glanced at him. "They're unbearable." She mutters as they walked into school

"Yeah, I don't like them either," Issac said as they went to his locker.

Amara leans against the neighboring locker as Issac got his stuff.

"You don't think Scott will let them in the pack right?"She asked

"Well, I hope not. He said he wouldn't though." He responded

"Yes but Scott can be a people pleaser sometimes."

"Look I wouldn't worry about it. And if he does for some reason killing them is always an option."He says as he closed his locker.

The two linked hands and started walking. They had seen Scott and Stiles down the hall. Issac and Amara walked towards them.

"Right now. Scott, I don't think you get it yet. You're an Alpha. You're the apex predator. Everyone wants you. You're like the hot girl that every guy wants. Stiles said

"The hot girl?"Scott questions

I thought I was used to their weird conversations by now. Guess not

"You are the hottest girl," Stiles said as he pasted his back before walking away

"I'm the hot girl," Scott said

Amara raises her eyebrows stills confused while Issac just went along with it. "Yes, you are."

Scott smiles before walking away from the couple. The two glanced at each other before chuckling. She gives him a quick peck. "I'll see you after class." She said before walking off into the class she was supposed to be in.

It was the beginning of lunch when Amara opens her locker and watched as a picture fell to the ground. She picks it up and looks at the picture. She sighs hating that she didn't know what was going on there. No word from Archie. The sad thing was she actually wanted to go to therapy. She bites her lip, no longer wanting to be in school. She thought about the idea before eventually walking out of the school.

Amara was at home on her laptop. She had been searching for anything that would give her a clue about what happened there. She searched to see if maybe there was a blackout there but she couldn't find anything. Amara heard someone come through her window and didn't need to look up to know it was Issac.

"You know it's very hypocritical of you to give me a speech about school when you ditched half of the day," Issac said as he sat down on the bed

"Sorry I just needed to do something."

"I would've come back with you."He said

"No, you still needed to be in school. I heard what happened some crazy guy got into the school and the cops came looking for him."

Issac nods. "Yea they couldn't find him. He had escaped from the hospital after a bunch of flies came out of his stomach during surgery."

"Gross." She mutters and scrunched up her face

"Yeah. Scott asked Allison to look up information to see if it's anything supernatural related."

"Well, I should help too." She said as she brings her laptop closer.

Issac looks at her laptop. He reached over and clicks one of her open tabs. "Why you were looking up flights to Maine?"

"Because I'm worried about my friend there. Sawyer hasn't answered any of my calls or texts."

"So were you going to fly out to Maine? Just to check up on this Sawyer dude." He asked with bitterness in his voice

"One I wasn't really going to go. Two is that a hint of Jealousy I hear in your voice?"

"I'm not jealous."

"And I'm not a fairy tale character. Both lies."She remarked

"Who is he?"Issac asked

"I've known Sawyer for a while now. He's just a friend. One of my only friends back there." She answered

"You never talk about it. Your life back there."

"Cause there's nothing to talk about." She mumbles

"You're from a magical place that I didn't even know exist until a few months ago. There's a lot to talk about."

"Well, the same goes for you."

"What do you mean?" He asked

"I mean it's not like you talk about how your life was before we met." She's answered

"There's nothing to talk about. Plus you know how my father treated me."

"There is so much you can tell me. Issac you never even told me your birthday. I found an old picture of yours from your birthday. That's how I found out. You don't have to speak about your dad. You can tell me about your mom or even your brother who I don't even know the name of."

"What if it gets too much?"

"Then let's have a code word for when it's too much and we change the topic. Look I know we both have our fair shares of stormy days and talking about it will just bring back a flood of unwanted emotions but sometimes we need to have those conversations. Remember the storm has passed and it's sunny skies with rainbows right now.  So is it a deal?"

Issac looks at her and nods. "Deal. What the word?"

"Banana." She answers

"Really?"He deadpanned and shook his head

"It's the first word that popped into my head. You go first."

"I remember when I was younger on the weekends I use to help my mom garden. She would go to the farmer's market and let me pick out a new plant seed. Then we would go back  home, in the backyard and plant it."

Amara smiles. "That's so sweet."

He nods. "Yeah. Did you have something like that with your mom?"

"I uh use to pick berries with my mom. She taught me how to tell the sweet, sour, and poisonous ones apart. Then she would cook with what picked and let me be the first one to taste."

"Wow. You must have a good memory."

"Uh no actually when she died my dad knew we were young and as we grew up we might forget her. So he took us to a sorcerer and had him cast a spell on us. So we could keep all our memories of her forever."

"But you said before that magic comes with a price? What was it?"

"Bananas."She mutters. "Your turn."

"Camden that's my brother's name. I use to want to go into the military because it what was my brother did. I looked up at him. He was my best friend.

"Why don't you want to go back? When you showed me the hat you were so against going back. Why?"

"Cause it has to deal with how my mom died. She and my dad had gone to go retrieve an artifact. My mother got murdered in the process. So my dad gave up the hat. And I've just always been scared of using it. So it's not that I don't want to go back. It's that..."

"You're just afraid of what will happen if you used the hat."

Amara looks at him and nods her head. He held her hand. "We'll we both shared. I think we did a pretty good job." He said

"I love you." She said and kisses him softly.

They kissed for a few seconds before she pulled away and looks at him. The two stared at each other for what felt like an eternity before kissing each other again with twice as much passion. Issac wrapped his arms around her pulling her as close to him as he could. He kisses her back full of passion. She tugged on the hem of his shirt, wanting more and he took it off. She looks at his body before proceeding to take off hers then kissing him once again. Her hands were entangled in his hair.

"What if your sister or dad walks in?" He asked in between kisses

"It's the night before Halloween. They should be costume shopping." She mumbles against his lips as she continued to kiss him

"Costume shop the day before Halloween?"

"Yea she wanted to do that."

"Why?"

Amara narrows her eyes at him. "You seriously want to talk about this right now?"

Issac shakes his head and kisses her neck slowly trailing up to her jaw then back to her lips. He pinned her to the bed. Everywhere he touched it felt as if her body was on fire. As many times they have kissed it never felt like this before. It was new to both of them and they were enjoying it. This passion was like a drug. She didn't want it to stop. He pulled away for a moment to unbuckle his belt.

"Issac stop," Amara said and looks at him, sitting up.

He looks at her. "Do you not want to? That's ok." He says

"No...yes that's not what I meant. I heard the downstairs door." She says out of breath

Issac concentrates and then his eyes widen. "Your family is home. What do we do" He said

"You're the werewolf you should've heard them before they even got in the house!"

"Well, I was a bit distracted!"

Amara rolls her eyes. "Just go hide in the bathroom." She said and throws her shirt on quickly.

Issac ran into the bathroom just as Grace opened her bedroom door.
"Hey. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be finding a costume?"She asked

"I found one," Grace answered

"Wow, that fast. Are you sure you got everything?" Please say no so you could leave.

"Yeah."

"Did you get a basket?"

"No. I can just use a plastic bag."

"You can't use a plastic bag. Plastic ruins the ocean. Plus you'll be able to reuse a basket."

"Ok. What's that on your neck?" She asked

Amara's hand immediately went to cover her neck. "A mosquito bite." She lies

"Mosquitoes at the end of October?"

"Yes now go before all the stores close."

Grace hesitates before she nods and left the room. She waited until she heard the downstairs door closed before getting out of her bed. She looks at herself in the mirror. Her hair was a complete mess, she glanced down to her neck seeing what Issac did. She shook her head, cursing underneath her breath before walking to the bathroom door.
"They're gone. You can come out." She whispers

Amara heard him screaming as leans her head against the ear. She started banging on the door. "Issac?" She says. She got no response. The screams continue.

"Issac?" She repeats worried as tries to open the door.  "Issac open up."
