Wonwoo's breath hitched soon as he entered the hall, seeing so many people dressed in their best ways possible to celebrate their closing graduation. At that moment, he kinda regretted to ever agree that he would join the prom--not exactly a prom, just a pre-graduation celebration. But with Soonyoung being one of the main organizers, he'd really feel guilty if he didn't show up. And so, he asked Junhui to be his prom for the night. Yes, his very best friend, Wen Junhui, who apparently also didn't have a date.

"Relax, Won!" Jun said, snapping Wonwoo back to reality as he nudged the other on his elbow, noticing the apparent tense expression drawn on his face.

"U-uh--" Wonwoo sweated nervously. Being in a crowded place was never in good terms with him, moreover with people talking so much and music banging in the background. "J-just don't leave me!" he said to his friend through gritted teeth, a pair of slight pouting lips could be seen.

Jun laughed at his awkwardness. "Of course I won't!" he answered, circling his arm around Wonwoo's shoulders. "It's been settled that I'll be your prince for the whole night, right?" Looking at Wonwoo in the eyes, he played around with his eyebrows, giving the impression of you-must-be-really-happy-to-have-a-prom-date-as-handsome-as-me.

"Gross," Wonwoo said, finally a bit more relaxed, rolling his eyes. Slowly, he detached Jun's arms from his neat black suit. "But if that makes you not leaving me, I'll take that." Wonwoo couldn't deny though that Jun was breathtakingly astonishing with a set of dark blue tuxedo and slick black hair. Anyone could easily swoon over this kind of heavenly visual--got him wondering why he didn't get himself a date.

"Okay, Princess," Jun said casually, jokingly blowing a kiss.

"Keep that disgusting imaginary kissy-kissy heart for yourself, Wen 'Eww' Junhui," Wonwoo countered, pushing his hand on Jun's mouth, perfectly covering it. "I'm fed enough of your godawful flirts."

Quickly, Jun's grabbed the attacking hand of his friend's and moved it away. "Just say you want to touch my lips."

"God--WEN JUNHUI!" Wonwoo said, almost shouting, as he formed a first, ready to punch Jun--not actually, but you got the main picture.

"Wonwoo! Jun! You came!" From afar, approaching close, could be heard a voice of someone they knew, no other than Kwon Soonyoung. That was definitely the first time for Wonwoo to see Soonyoung dressed in a very formal way, in a sense. The teal tuxedo set did suit his bright personality so much, though, and he looked great.

"Oh, hi, roommate!" Jun greeted back as Soonyoung had already hugged Wonwoo for a quick greeting.

"Don't hi-roommate me now, eye bags!"

Offended, Jun raised his tone, "What did you just say, no eyes?!"

Wonwoo exhaled loudly as he threw his head back in irritation. Really, the two couldn't just spend one single episode of their lives being quiet. "Just hug already, noisy drums," Wonwoo, done with the two, just strongly pushed the two towards each other with both hands, and with enough luck, their lips didn't meet. The two roommates then cast a sharp glare at Wonwoo didn't even flinch--yet in the contrary, they cowered from Wonwoo's stern expression and greeted each other like nothing happened.

"So, you two are dating now?" Soonyoung questioned.

"No--"

"Yes, we are," Junhui nonchalantly answered, without even sparing a glance at Wonwoo.

"The hell?" Wonwoo sounded so offended for no reasons as he cast a glare at his best friend.

Junhui laughed in amusement while Soonyoung laughed all along at how ridiculous the two's friendship could be. "Kidding, we are not," Jun corrected. "Maybe yes, though, just for the night," he continued, sending Wonwoo a wink, to which Wonwoo just rolled his eyes.

"Oh? That's interesing! Like one-night sta--OUCH!" Soonyoung stopped midway as he had to hold his leg in the air, gently rubbing his left calf which got kicked by Wonwoo. Letting out a stifled scream, Soonyoung dared not to throw any tantrum back at Wonwoo given the sharp glare the taller was casting. Rubbing it for one last time before putting his leg back down, he said, "Do you guys want to take a photo? Come with me!"

"No--"

"Of course! Let's go, Babe!" Jun contrarily agreed as he pulled Wonwoo by his arm following Soonyoung who just chuckled at their interaction.

The three walked by each other, passing a sea of people busy talking about their lives which were perfectly unimportant for Wonwoo to listen to. It wasn't that crowded actually; not everyone came since it was really up to them to choose whether to attend or not. "You aren't bringing any date with you, Soon?" Jun asked as they reached the small photo studio, lining up with the others who already were there. There were still a plenty of minutes left before the dinner started.

"This Jeon man managed to steal you from me," Soonyoung answered to Jun, pointing at Wonwoo with his annoyingly pouty lips.

"Wha--me?" Wonwoo asked, pointing at himself, confused as to why he was dragged into this enigmatic mess.

Soonyoung laughed at his funny reaction. "I'm too busy arranging stuffs here to even look for a date for myself," he complained, lips slightly put in a sulky attitude.

"What about your ex Ji--"

Soonyoung hissed, cutting Jun off in the mid of his sentence. "No mentioning of his name anymore," Soonyoung spat out quite in irritation.

"What, who?" Wonwoo, who never knew Soonyoung had been involved in some relationships, questioned.

"No one," the squishy boy quickly shot back. "Besides, he already has a new one. But who cares?" The cheeky boy shrugged, trying his best to show that he really didn't care.

"Aye, you still do, though?" Jun mocked him for a bit.

"Shut up and let's just take our photos!" he retaliated angrily and Wonwoo couldn't help but to chuckle after noticing his reddening cheeks, even when he was still curious--kinda. And so the three went into the booth and took photos to treasure yet another precious moment of their lives. After laughing happily after looking at how ridiculous the photos looked, the three left and soon, the dinner was announced. Wonwoo asked if Soonyoung could eat dinner with him and Jun and he said yes, though, he had something to do first but he said he would definitely come.

And so, the two headed to the dining room in which seats and tables were already arranged along with the dinner neatly served for everyone. Soon as they took their seats, Jun texted to Soonyoung to let him know where they were seated while Wonwoo was fascinated as he looked at the surroundings; it was all glamorous and shining--not overly luxurious, just to the right degree.

"It's nice, isn't it?" Jun asked, retracting Wonwoo's eyesight back from the scenery to him, who was seated next to him.

"The prom? Yeah, it is--"

"I mean, being my date--OUCH!"

"Stop being ridiculous, Wen Junhui," Wonwoo said, rolling his eyes after hitting Jun on his thigh.

"I never know you are this... barbaric?" Jun pointed out jokingly as he rubbed his thigh. It didn't really hurt but for entertainment purposes, let him be.

"That's why you should behave well around me."

"Ooh," Jun cooed, receiving a pair of raised eyebrows from his friend. "Kink--WONWOO!"

Jun got cut off mid-sentence as Wonwoo stepped on his foot hard. He cast a sharp glare at Wonwoo before laughing it off as he knew both of them were never ill-intended to each other. "Should we wait or should we not?" Jun asked as the atmosphere went back to normal. Wonwoo decided to wait for Soonyoung first as it shouldn't take that long, but who knows.

It really didn't though; a few minutes passed and a wild Soonyoung appeared at their table, screaming "LET'S EAT!" before he immediately started to vacuum the dinner served on the table. Wonwoo and Jun just laughed before starting their dinner after earning a confused look from Soonyoung.

A few minutes barely passed, the silence among the three of them had let Wonwoo fall into an endless chasm of his own thoughts. He couldn't do it; whatever he did, related or not, his mind and heart would solely go back to him; Kim Mingyu, the one that disappeared unknowingly, without any trace, around two years ago. The only vestige left was the interminable pain in his heart, from the longing, and the hope that someday he would return in any impossible way he could imagine. But it was of no use; he hadn't come back, nor with any single sign. He couldn't do it; either he had to forget him completely, or he didn't live at all.

Giving up, Wonwoo put down his utensils, sighing loudly as he looked down. "I need to use the restroom. A few minutes, guys." And so he just went away. Jun and Soonyoung spared him a glance for a few seconds before Soonyoung shrugged it off and continued eating.

Jun, on the other hand, being Wonwoo's best friend on which he always had to rely on, knew something was off. Without letting his eyes off of his walking away best friend, he faked holding his stomach in front of Soonyoung and excused himself to the restroom, while following Wonwoo. Clueless, Soonyoung just stayed in his place finishing his dinner, occasionally stealing a few pieces of meat from both Jun's and Wonwoo's plates.

Going out of the hall, Wonwoo aimed to the nearest balcony instead of the restroom, leaving the crowd and the room, with background noises still on as he leaned on the balcony and stared far away, saving the scenery. That should be beautiful if only Mingyu wasn't in his mind, haunting every step of his life. Sighing loudly, the boy closed his eyes as he buried his face on his arms, trying his best not to let tears fall.

"As I promised, I won't leave your side."

Wonwoo opened his eyes widely soon as he heard someone's voice next to him. Slowly lifting his head, he could picture Jun standing next to him, eyes looking far at the scenery. "J-Jun," Wonwoo barely muttered.

"It's him again, right?" Jun slowly turned his head to face his friend, guessing correctly.

Wonwoo just nodded. "I can't--"

The boy was cut off by Jun suddenly wrapping him in a hug. "I'm here," he suddenly said. "Don't worry, I'm here and always will be here for you."

"J-Jun?" Wonwoo was indeed confused at the sudden act.

"If you need to cry, or need comfort, or to lash out, please be reminded that I'm always here for you," he continued as he hugged his friend more tightly. "You don't have to suffer alone. You deserve so much better. Whatever you need, I'm willing to take risk just to help you." In the midst of Jun's speech, Wonwoo's tears slowly escaped his shaky eyes finally, dripping on his cheeks, dropping on Jun's shoulder. Slowly, Wonwoo returned the hug and buried his face on the other's shoulder, finally letting himself cry his heart out. He wasn't sure if he was crying because of the sorrow Mingyu had left him or the feeling of grateful that Jun was that friend of his; all he knew, he let out all those venting emotion, releasing his overflowing feelings.

When Wonwoo was just left with little leftover sniffs, Jun gently let go of the hug and helped his friend sweeping the tear stains off of his face. His eyes looked puffy now even after just a short time crying. Wonwoo didn't know what to do with Mingyu. A part of him wanted to let go, to forget, but was he ready? The answer to that question was nowhere to be found. He wanted to always remember him in one sole spot reserved for him in his heart, but as painful as it might be, remembering him would just bring him more miseries.

Should he forget him or not, looking at the figure in front of him, maybe just maybe, he thought of something that could help him. "Can I..." Wonwoo paused, biting his lips softly, unsure if he should say it or not. Jun just lifted his eyebrows slightly, waiting for the completion of the sentence. "... ask so the date won't end tonight?"

"W-what?"

That's it. I shouldn't have even thought about it. It's way too egoistic. "N-never mind," he shrugged it off. "Let's go back." I can't drag Jun into all this mess, especially after everything he has done to me.

Intending to go back, Wonwoo felt a hand holding his as he turned around. "What if I say yes?"

Wonwoo froze in his step. No, Wonwoo, don't let him suffer for you. "Just forget everything I said just now," he answered coldly, trying to reject him.

Out of his expectation, Jun suddenly pulled him back into a hug. "Just let me help," Jun softly said next to his ears, "please?"

"J-Jun, I--" Wonwoo was at lost of words. He knew Jun was really kind and like the only person in this world that would care this much for him. And for all those acts of benevolence, dared Wonwoo not to let him suffer more just for him. He already suffered enough for himself; Wonwoo could still remember how broken he was as he was dumped by his past lover just like that, and with that in mind, wouldn't be it too much for him to jump into yet another one?

"Please?"

"B-but--"

"For you, I will do anything, for your happiness, because you deserve everything and so much better."

"B-but you deserve those t-too--"

"You are my happiness."

At that exact second, Wonwoo was struck; Jun was indeed too kind, too selfless, and too altruistic it made Wonwoo feel so bad for letting him to be in yet another pain that wasn't even for his own matter. And for that, he cried again, tears falling down on Jun's shoulder. "Please don't ever think you are burdening me. Don't ever think I'm suffering just for you. Don't ever feel bad. Let me just help you. I promise I will do my best."

Wonwoo couldn't even mutter a single word. He just kept crying as he nodded softly, agreeing to Jun's offer as he had no other way out. He couldn't tell which one was right anymore; he just followed what Jun suggested.

"Let's go back in a bit," Jun suggested as he drew circles on Wonwoo's back, trying to comfort him. "I love you."
