Falling for You

Elsa's P.O.V.
Hans took the note from my hand and started reading. I could see him scanning through the paper, looking more and more furious by the second. Toward the end, his expression changed to one of pure sadness. His cuffs clicked as he slowly lowered the note.

"Did you know about this?" I asked him curiously. But somehow my voice didn't seem mine. It sounded threatening instead of inquisitive.

"Elsa . . . I'm sorry . . ." he spoke softly. This surprised me and not long after, anger took over me.

"What he said . . . how could you?" It finally made sense. He was just part of a scheme his brother had set up, and again, I was one of his game pieces. But I made sure none of this got to Anna.

"Look, I'm sorry-"

"No, you're not! You just didn't think it was enough, did you? You haven't changed a bit." I felt ashamed and slightly embarrassed to see that I fell into his trap again. "How could I have been so, so dumb?" I whispered to myself. I felt a blizzard forming at my fingertips.

"Elsa, you're hurting yourself," Hans said to me. He was right. I was. I immediately ceased the growing storm and snatched the note from his hand.

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" I asked him, pointing to the letter. All I got in return was a drooping head. I raised my eyebrows threateningly. This time I got a sigh.

"I couldn't. Every since the first time I saw you, I couldn't bring myself to do horrible things." Again, I raised my eyebrow. This wasn't true, and he, of all people, knew it. I mean, he did try to kill me. "My frustration, anger, and greed took control. I couldn't do anything to stop it. I'm sorry for hurting you in any way." I knew this. In the end he killed my sister. "I felt regret and sadness from that day on. All I wanted to do was start over." I was still in a state of confusion. He looked at me almost scared. "Send me to prison if you want. But the truth is, I'm in love with you."
