"Look at them." Cristina scoffed at the lunch table "They're walking around here like they belong."

"They do belong here." I said into a carrot I was eating, all my friends looked at me, I shrugged "What, this is where they have to work now so we might as well get a long right?"

"I hate them." Alex said after a brief silence "The skinny short haired one stole my surgery this morning."

"Did she really steal it or did she just out smart you and the attending preferred her?"

They all looked at me again.

"Whose side are you on?" Cristina scoffed.

"No one's." I sighed "I'm Switzerland."

I looked up as three orange scrub wearing persons approached the table. They started to sit.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you doing!" Cristina hissed "This is Seattle Grace territory."

"Good thing we work here now." Reid snubbed as she settled in her chair. I tried not to snicker.

"We always sit with Mer." Jackson said gesturing to me, I stopped chewing "And this is where she's sitting so here we sit."

"There's plenty of room so why not." April sighed.

I got six pairs of eyes turning to look at me, some harsh, some looking for back up. I smiled and swallowed the bite of food I had in my mouth.

"Cristina, Izzy, Alex." I gestured "Meet Jackson, April and Reid." I stood up with my tray "I'm going to go sit somewhere else while you all have a warm fuzzy chat in getting to know each other."

I started to walk away.

"It's date night!" Jackson called out "Don't' think you're getting out of it."

"Of course not." I rolled my eyes and laughed at his stupid little term for us having drinks once a week.

I froze when I saw who was standing in line.

Someone who, by the look on his face, had obviously heard what Jackson had just announced to half the cafeteria.

Someone who didn't look to pleased with what he heard.

He turned and stormed out of line and away from the premises before I could say a word.

This wasn't good.
