1. Dreams

"Y/n? Have you packed your books as well?" I twisted my eyes. "Omg Mom, yes I have. I'm not a small child like I used to be." My mother came to my room. Her eyes looked tired and overworked, but when she saw me, her eyes began to shine. She loves me more than anything. And even though she can be super annoying, I love her too. She came to me and looked me over my shoulder. "What are you doing?" I quickly covered my drawing with a book. "Nothing", I lied. " Then have fun doing nothing", she said grinning and kissed me on my y/h/c hair. "I'll bake you some cookies for the ride. Aren't you excited?", she asked. "No, I'm not", I said and took a sip of my water. I was excited, but I didn't want my mother to worry. I sighed and took the book away from my drawing. Without being selfish, I had to say it was pretty good! It was a boy, I often saw in my dreams. He was pretty, tall, and had brown hair. Yesterday night I had a nightmare about him. He had smiled at me nicely and suddenly turned around. I called his name and he turned back to me. But he looked different now. An evil sparkle had been in his eyes and a mocking smile hat surrounded his mouth, which was now thin. He had two slits as eyes, no nose, and was terribly pale. He screamed something and suddenly I saw a bright green light and I woke up.

The next morning, my mother woke me up early. We had to buy one last thing. A wand. I've been looking forward to this my whole life. We went to Diagon Alley and passed countless shops. Suddenly I felt something on my leg. I stopped and looked down at myself. A black cat had nestled itself against my leg. He looked up at me with dark green eyes and purred softly. "Emerald!", a woman appeared and picked up the cat, which was not all pleased and hissed. "I'm really sorry. He's a little runaway, but he's actually quite hostile to people." I looked at him and he lowered his head a little to one side. I giggled. The woman looked at me and smiled. "He likes you. Do you want him? It wouldn't be sold anyway." I made big eyes. "Yes! But I can't just take him. Here, take this"I put 15 galleons in her hand. "Thank you very much.", said the woman. I smiled at her and she shoved Emerald into my hand. He cuddled with me. My mom came to me. She had a quick chat with an old friend. She looked at Emerald with raised eyebrows but said nothing. "Come on, let's go buy your wand. We still have to pack!" I laughed, but then I hurried. We went to Ollivanders. When entering, a small bell rang. The place was small. On high, shaky selves, wand boxes were stacked up to the ceiling. Everything was very dusty and my mother coughed. A little man came out the back of the store. He had black hair, but it was already slightly grayish. "Y/n Slytherin. My family has been waiting for you for a long time.", he said and winked. He looked around and took a wand that lay on the floor. "Try this one!" I swung it lightly and immediately a mirror splintered next to me. I made a guilty- conscious face. "Next one!", I said. After about 15 more attempts, in which I threw countless wands out of the shelves and also accidentally lit Ollivanders hair on fire. Without twitching his eyelashes, he released it. I was just about to despair when he offered me to look around myself. So I looked around the store. Then I saw a beautiful black box with dark red ornaments. It was on top of a bunch of other books. I ran towards it and stretched to get it. I took the box and opened it. There was a long curved wand in it. I took it out. It felt light in my hand. I made a small pan and the room felt with red glowing light. I looked at Ollivander and my mother with a smile and caught them giving each other a strange look. I frowned. "What's wrong?" My mother gave him another look, but he shook his head slightly. "Nothing sweetie! It's okay", she answered with a fake smile.

After we bought the wand, we went outside. My mother stopped for a moment, then she turned to me. "y/n, I have to buy something in the Nokturn Alley." " Can I come with you? Please!",  I replied excitedly. She thought for a moment, then she nodded. I followed her and the further we went, the narrower and darker the alleys became. I looked around. And when I turned around again, my mother was gone. I cursed. I wanted to go back, but I couldn't remember exactly where I was. I looked at the windows of the shops to see if anything looked familiar. I stopped at a small shop with jewels. This is where we came from! I took a closer look at the jewelry. Suddenly I gasped for air. In the mirror of the window, I saw the boy from my dream. I slowly turned around, but behind me was no one but an old witch. My hands trembled and I breathed fast. One hand lay on my shoulder and I started screaming. "y/n, it's me!", said my mother laughing. "Come on, I got everything. Let's get out of here", she said and winked. I looked around one last time before I followed her.

I woke up sweaty. Again the nightmare of the boy and again the green light. Emerald lay at the head of the bed. I lit a candle and put it on my table. The candle almost burned down, when I was done with a new drawing. It was the men without a nose who had looked at me so full of hate. Satisfied, I looked at the picture and then at the small pocket watch I had become for my 9th Birthday. I've had it for two years now. The clock showed me that it was 3:00 am. I sighed. I couldn't sleep anymore. I looked again if I had packed everything for Hogwarts. Then I blew out the candle and went to bed. I looked at the ceiling and thought. In a few hours, I'd be on my way to the famous magic school: Hogwarts. Would I find friends quickly? I hoped the students would accept me, even though I had such a famous father. Was I actually known? Probably. My mother had forbidden me to read certain books, but in one I had seen my name. I'm particularly afraid of the Speaking Hat. What would everyone think of me if I didn't come to Slytherin? The worst house for me would be Ravenclaw. I sat down with a jolt. Today, as we bought the wand, it had come red light from it. But isn't it the color of Gryffindor? Shit. I knew my mother would accept me no matter what house, but I wanted to go to Slytherin. I had to. I closed my eyes tightly and looked for something to distract me. Suddenly I saw the boy again. He looked a little younger, but you could see it was him. I looked from down on him. He was lying in his bed next to a lot of other sleeping people. His eyes were open and it looked like he was thinking too. Suddenly he got up and looked straight at me. Was he able to see me? He pulled his eyes wide open and whispered something. I heard it and I was shocked. He had the same talent as me. He spoke the language of serpents. He was a Parselmouth.

I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. I'm really sorry I kept you waiting so long!
