Neteyam's Pov:

I hadn't found a chance to talk to aonung and it was eating me alive.

Right now I was listening to rotxo and aonung's conversation. "How do you assert dominance using fish noises?" Rotxo asked his eyes half closed.

He's so drunk.

"I don't know how?" aonung asked going along with what rotxo said. Rotxo grabbed aonung's shoulder, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Why do you want to know how to dominate a fish?" Rotxo laughed and aonung pushed him away playfully. "You're so drunk dude" aonung smiled rolling his eyes.

"Hey neteyam?" Rotxo smiled leaning over. "How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?" He asked, almost falling off the bench. "How many tickles?" I asked him.

"Ten tickles!" Rotxo smiled brightly, wheezing at his own joke. "Okay, bud why don't we get you home" aonung said, helping him off the bench.

"Wait, wait one more" rotxo smiled patting aonung's chest. "What did the ocean say to the shore?" Rotxo smiled at me, I glanced at aonung and he rolled his eyes playfully.

"Nothing it just waved!" Rotxo seemed to think he was hilarious and I had to admit he was kinda funny.

"Alright, let's get you home now" aonung said, throwing rotxo's arm around his shoulder. I decided to walk with the two to rotxo's den.

"Neteyam guess what" rotxo said. "Rotxo dude chill out" aonung laughed.

"I'd tell you another joke about the ocean" rotxo said turning his head to look at aonung. "But it's to deep" rotxo began to laugh hysterically, falling down in the process.

"Okay I'm getting kiri to take him home" aonung said turning around to find kiri while I stayed with rotxo.

"Why couldn't the pirate sing the alphabet?" Rotxo asked me and I rolled my eyes playfully. "I don't know why?"

"Because he was lost at C" rotxo began to snickered, laying on his back and not getting off the ground. "Where are you getting all these ocean jokes from?" I asked him.

"Sorry I told those bad fish jokes" rotxo said and I put my hand up. "No I didn't say they were bad it's ju-"

"I feel really gill-ty about it" this sent rotxo over the edge and he was laughing his ass off.

"Rotxo" aonung called and the two of us glanced up to see aonung and kiri making their way over to us.

"Oh shit, she's here" rotxo cursed grabbing my arm and covering his eyes.

"Rotxo we can still see you" aonung said, Rolling his eyes playfully. "Kiri's gonna take you home" aonung said, grabbing rotxo's wrist and lifting the boy to his feet.

Rotxo flopped against me instantly. "I don't wanna!" Rotxo whined. "I wanna tell jokes to neteyam" rotxo said, his eyes were still half closed. "Dude you need to go home" aonung said, trying to take him off me. Kiri just stood there laughing.

"Stop being a grumpy old man aonung!" Rotxo pouted wrapping his arms around my neck. I couldn't help but laugh at how jealous aonung looked.

"You can tell your jokes to kiri!" Aonung said, prying rotxo off me. "Your a bully!" Rotxo whined as kiri touched his back. "come on rotxo" she smiled, his arm slung around her neck.

"Wanna hear a fish joke?" Rotxo asked her and she nodded smiling. "Na, it'd be to fishy" rotxo laughed and kiri smiled back at me and aonung. "I'll take this one home" Kiri smiled.

Once they had left I touched aonungs arm. "you jealous?" I smiled, seeing his frown. "What?, No, na no way" aonung said pulling it off. I smirked at him. "Okay whatever you say" I smiled, wrapping my tail around his.

He leaned in to my touch and I thought this would be the good time to tell him.

"Hey aonung?" I asked and he hummed in response. "Can we talk about something" I asked him and he looked at me worriedly. "Okay?"

I know this is going to hurt him. "Eywa came to me" I told him and aonung looked at me with surprise. "Eywa?" He breathed out and I nodded. "But they came with a warning, about you" I said nervously, seeing his face change.

"What did they say?" He asked concerned and I frowned. "They said your tulkun was marked for death" I whispered and aonungs face dropped. "Your lying..." He whispered. "No, that's what I was told" I told him.

His eyes shifted to the ground and it looked like he was about to cry so I pulled him into a hug and he hid his face in my chest.
