Kaebedo

Kaeya and Albedo were stuck in detention. They "listened" to the teacher supervising them ramble on and on about the rules and expectations of detention. She explained that they had done the wrong thing and needed to reflect on their decisions.

Once her boring speech, that they both ignored, was over she went to her office to do work leaving the two boys alone. It was a stupid idea really. She either had too much trust in them or didn't have a brain.

The two were close friends and had known each other for years. They could get up to all sorts of unexpected mischief together. They were both smart although Albedo was more so in the science field. Kaeya, on the other hand, was sitting on the border between good and bad and was quite good at what you would call detective work.

Their friendship seemed unexpected or weird to other people because of their opposite personalities. Many people thought that they'd hate each other or at the very least stay mere acquaintances and avoid each other in the halls.

They actually got on like a house on fire - one that they had burned themselves. Together they could take down the entire school. None of them would actually do that while sane but if one of them ever went insane the other would follow him without question. Both of them being insane was a terrifying thought.

Kaeya getting detention wasn't too out of the ordinary. He had just gotten back from his suspension and had to do a detention upon returning. The staff really wanted to make sure the message that drinking alcohol on school premises is not allowed. It doesn't matter that he was just outside the school grounds and the police weren't involved.

On the other hand, Albedo having detention was more of a surprise. He was a well behaved kid meaning he did his work and didn't talk to anyone. A teacher had caught him in the restricted science lab doing a dangerous experiment without permission. The teacher had been willing to turn a blind eye since he was usually so good but Albedo had talked back.

This meant that he had lectured the teacher about properly punishing students. He had also explained that this experiment was technically not too dangerous for someone of his capabilities assuming that nothing went wrong. If anything went wrong it wouldn't be because he did something wrong it would likely be something wrong with the equipment. Basically, he was given detention for being right, not including that he did go to a restricted area and do an experiment without permission.

Kaeya pushed a chair in front of Albedo's desk and sat down on it so that they were facing each other. Kaeya smirked and put his elbow on the desk so he could rest his head in his hand. With his other hand he stroked Albedo's arm.

"Why, aren't you mischievous, my dear Albedo."

"You can't talk, Kaeya," Albedo chuckled as he copied the other's pose.

Kaeya was a very flirtatious person. He flirted with just about everyone he set his eyes on. Children, adults and the elderly were all safe from his charm though. It was the teenagers that had to look out for him or else one of two things would happen.

One was that they would fall in love with him or at least have some romantic feelings for him. It doesn't happen very often but the fact that it has happened to more than ten people is impressive. Two was that they'd find him annoying and not be effected by his supposed charm at all.

Albedo could tell immediately that Kaeya was flirting with him and he found it funny. They had been friends for ages after all. He leaned forward slightly and intertwined their fingers. He found it a bit surprising how well their hands fit together.

"You're the one who had a suspension," he reminded.

"Not a very mischievous thing, my love. It is nothing more than simple. There was no mischief there."

"That may be so but you are quite cunning. You aren't good but you aren't bad either. That seems quite mischievous to me."

"Is that a compliment?"

"You tell me."

"You have always been one to tease 'Bedo. Three strokes to draw a handsome man such as myself?"

"One for the face, one for the eyepatch string and one for the eyepatch."

While they were talking Kaeya's hand had travelled up until he was cupping Albedo's cheek. It was at this moment that Albedo actually realised what was going on and how much it had escalated. His cheeks turned red and his eyes widened while Kaeya chuckled. They pulled away from each other and did their own thing. Albedo was sketching while Kaeya was doing homework.

After their detention was over Kaeya decided to buy Albedo lunch. They hadn't had lunch or hung out together in a while so it was a good opportunity to catch up. Albedo talked about his recent experiments while Kaeya told funny stories about what his friends got up to.

"Do you want to come to a party this weekend?" Kaeya asked, "I know parties aren't really your thing but it would be great if you came. The only other people there will be Venti, Rosaria and Beidou. Sucrose can come too if you aren't comfortable around too many people. Well, you don't even have to come if you're uncomfortable."

Albedo blushed a bit at his words. This was a side of Kaeya that wasn't often seen. It was a good boy side. There was no mystery, no mischief, no flirting and no subtly hinting at something else. He was just kind and considerate.

It was true that parties weren't his scene. He was more of an introvert. Everyone seemed to get either drunk, high or both. Couples would make out in doorways and practically have sex on the stairs.

However, what Kaeya had suggested sounded more like a hang out to get to know his friends instead of a party. Knowing them they would probably still drink but they definitely weren't the type of people to do drugs. As far as he knew there were no couples either.

There really didn't seem like a reason to say no. That and Kaeya seemed to really want him to come since he was pouting a little. Albedo just could not say no to a face like that.

"As long as you don't get drunk."
