Thomato

"Ayato is coming back from his exchange student program," Ayaka announced.

Thoma almost choked on his food. Kazuha glanced at him in concern before he went back to his own food and writing poems for Scaramouche.

"What? When?" Thoma exclaimed as he stared intensely at Ayaka.

"Like tonight."

"WHAT?"

"He wanted it to be a surprise but I knew you'd want to like prepare or something. He really wants to see you. We were facetiming the other day and all he would talk about was you."

Thoma's face flushed red. A million thoughts swirled around in his head about what he would prepare for Ayato. Meanwhile Ayaka was giving him a disgusted look. She found it gross that he was in love with her brother. Secretly, she found them cute together.

"Ooo your boyfriend is coming home," Yoimiya teased.

"WHAT! HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!"

Kazuha looked up from his poems again and giggled, "Not yet."

"You might get lucky tonight," Gorou suggested with a wink.

"WHAT!"

Ayaka had been drinking some water and almost spat it out when she heard that. Her eyes went wide. "I don't need that visual of my brother and friend."

"Huh? WAIT, that's not what I meant!" Gorou looked at them in horror.

"It's what you did with Itto," Kazuha murmured.

"WE DID NOT! WE HAVEN'T EVEN KISSED!" he cleared his throat then added, "Besides you're writing love poems for a bad boy."

"He is most certainly not a bad boy and what about..."

Once he saw the glares aimed at him from Yoimiya and Ayaka, he decided not to say anything.

When school was finished Thoma and Ayaka met up to walk home together. She invited him over and he accepted. He was over at her and Ayato's house almost every day but he was still nervous for when Ayato would come home.

The three of them were childhood friends and had always stuck together. Ayaka and Ayato's parents had always been busy so Thoma had offered to take care of them. They had paid him generously as well. He knew everything about housework, cooking and hygiene.

Even when they had passed he continued doing it. It was fun and it made him happy to look after the people he loved the most. Ayato was also prone to overworking himself so someone needed to make him rest especially because he doesn't listen to Ayaka.

It wasn't hard for him to do it either. The work itself was easy since he didn't have to do as much. The two siblings could keep their house relatively tidy and Ayaka could cook. They did always forget about their washing though.

Thoma only lived next door as well. He could easily look after the two and hang out with them before going off to do his own household chores and doing things independently.

When they got to their house he immediately started cleaning. "I don't need any help and don't touch anything," he told Ayaka.

"I know, I know you need everything to be perfect," she sighed.

When Thoma was satisfied he sat down next to Ayaka. They did homework, played some games and watched a little TV.

Her phone went off after awhile and she checked it. After reading it she said, "Ayato will be here in forty minutes."

Thoma's heart started beating and he stood up. "I'll go make dinner then."

"And I'll watch this movie."

While he waited for their dinner to cook he made some dessert. It was just a simple cake and he would add ice-cream as well as whipped cream and strawberries. Once that was in the oven, he headed upstairs to go for a shower.

Thoma stepped out of the shower and dried himself. He got dressed in his pyjamas then studied his reflection in the mirror. He played with his hair a bit and wondered if he should change into something that would make him look better.

Downstairs, the door opened and Ayato walked in. A grin was on his face but he still looked extremely tired. Immediately, Ayaka paused the movie and leapt up. They hugged and laughed together.

"Where's Thoma?" he asked when they pulled away.

"Upstairs. He put dinner on so I'll serve it up. I'm so happy you're back and so is he."

Ayato practically ran upstairs to find the boy. He checked the spare bedroom first but had no luck there. They ran into each other in the hallway when he was about to check his bedroom and Thoma was coming out of the bathroom.

"Thoma!" he yelled and smiled.

"Ayato!"

As they hugged Ayato whispered into his ear, "I missed you a lot."

Thoma blushed and mumbled back, "I missed you too."

"If you two take any longer I'll eat dinner and dessert myself!" Ayaka called out.

A panicked expression washed over Ayato's face and he ran downstairs. Thoma laughed and followed after him. As usual Thoma's food was delicious and everyone had second servings.

"You are a really good cook, Thoma. I love your food," Ayato grinned as Thoma blushed.

Ayaka headed upstairs to go for a shower leaving the two boys alone. They were smiling at each other and were just extremely happy to see each other. They had called and texted everyday but it simply wasn't as good as seeing each other face to face.

"You know you should have a shower too. It's getting late," Thoma suggested since he didn't know what else to say.

Ayato pouted and whined, "I'm too tired. I'll just have one in the morning."

"You say that but we both know you'll sleep in tomorrow and will get ready at the last minute."

"I don't do that!"

"Whenever you're exhausted you do. At the end of the week when all those late nights working hit you..."

Thoma laughed at the fake betrayal and hurt on Ayato's face. He looked at him fondly and affectionately touched his shoulder.

"I'll put a bath on for you, how does that sound?"

"...fine."

He walked upstairs while the other stayed sitting at the table. Thoma then entered the second bathroom to get the bath ready since Ayaka was still having a shower.

After a while of it slowly filling up Ayato walked in. He really did seem exhausted now and was thinking longingly of his bed.

"Oh! Hey it's-," Thoma started saying before he cut himself off when a head rested on his shoulder.

"Thomaaa, I'm tired."

"I..I well, it's ready now so just, just quickly have a bath then you can sleep."

Ayato stopped leaning on him and instead took off his clothes. Thoma glanced behind him then hurriedly faced forward again with a red face.

"D-D DON'T UNDRESS WHILE I'M HERE!"

With a yawn he stepped into the bath and sat down. Thoma stared at the ceiling for a few seconds before he looked down. He realised that the other wasn't washing himself and his eyes were threatening to close.

"I'll wash you then," he murmured and brought a stool over beside the bath and behind Ayato.

Thoma first tied Ayato's hair up so it wouldn't get wet. He then wet his shoulders and back. Next, he scrubbed those same areas with soap before rinsing it of with water. Hesitantly, he started doing the same process to the front of his body making sure not to lower his hand too much.

"Will I need to make my bed or anything? I haven't slept there in a while," Ayato asked in a quiet voice.

"Nope, I've been washing your sheets regularly to make sure they were clean and that you could sleep when you got back."

Ayato smiled as his heart warmed and responded, "You're the best Thoma."

"Oh, I-I dusted your room too and made sure it was clean," he said and was hoping a little bit for some more praise.

"Thank you, you have always been amazing."

Because he thought he would explode, he changed the subject and told Ayato to clean his legs then get out. He lazily did as he was told while Thoma quickly left before he could step out.

A few minutes later Ayato walked out of the bathroom fully clothed in pyjamas but looking like he was about to pass out. He slowly went to his bedroom and Thoma followed after him.

He flopped on his bed then got under the covers and sighed happily. The other boy watched him from the door.

"Thoma," Ayato called, "Come here please."

Thoma walked over and stood beside his bed. He bent down slightly upon being gestured to and stared quizzically at the boy in the bed.

Without warning Ayato leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before sinking back down. Thoma turned redder than a thomato (see what I did there) and was about to ask him what that was about. However, he had already fallen asleep.

The next day everyone in their friendship group brought in heaps of food to celebrate Ayato's return. On one side of the table sat Kazuha, Ayato and Thoma in that order. On the other side sat Gorou, Ayaka and Yoimiya in that order. Ayato was casually clinging to Thoma's arm making him blush.

"What are you writing?" Ayato asked as he looked at Kazuha writing.

"Just some poems," he responded with a slight blush.

"Love poems," Gorou corrected.

"What? For who?" Ayato grinned at his friend in amazement.

"It's for...Scaramouche."

"Scaramouche?! Scaramouche as in the Scaramouche everyone is afraid of? What have I missed?"

"He's cute and can be nice. He gets flustered easily too."

"Have you even talked with him a lot or hung out?"

"Well not really."

"Good for you though. I hope it works out. Anyways what about everyone else?"

"Gorou likes Itto," Ayaka declared.

"I told you it wasn't like that!" he tried to defend himself.

"Your red face says otherwise!" Yoimiya teased.

Ayato laughed and joined in on teasing his friends. I've missed this, he thought, I'm glad I'm back. He looked next to him at Thoma who was smiling and raising his eyebrows at Gorou. I've missed you the most though.

A/N This is the first part of this story done! This means that these are all the ships that I'll be focusing on in this story. There will be three parts which is going to contain a little angst but really not much.

After that I'll write some extras like other ships I couldn't write a whole three chapters for like Yanfei and Hu Tao. I'll also write ships with characters that are already shipped with someone else in the main story. This on't effect the main story it will be like what if these two dated.

Other than ships I'll write some friend and family stuff! Maybe smut if you request it...

Anyways, I'm really, really sorry that this took forever to update. Unfortunately, my motivation for writing has dissapeared. This doesn't mean I wont't finish the story. I will but it will likely take longer since it will have slow updates.

Sorry again but thank you for reading this and voting, I appreciate it!
