"What did you think about the concert?"

"Huh?" My cheeks redden as I realize I had zoned out. "Oh, it was great."

"I'm glad." Rap Monster says.

He had told me to call him Nam Joon. Everyone was trying their best to make me feel comfortable. Trying to include me into the little club I once belonged in.

"Hyung, you're awfully quiet. Are you feeling okay?" Ji Min asks concerned as Jin eats quietly.

My eyes flicker over to him. I wasn't used to seeing him like this. He was supposed to be my loud and obnoxious oppa, my friend.

Everyone looks at him.

"You've been acting strangely these last two days. Is something wrong at home?"

Jin shakes his head and smiles. "I'm fine. I'm probably just tired from all the concerts we've been having."

V takes his chopsticks and piles up a few pieces of meat on Jin's plate. "Here, hyung, take some of my meat."

"Maybe I should get sick more often." Jin jokes and they all laugh.

"It's so nice to have the eight of us eat together again. We really missed you, Eun Kyung." J Hope says.

"Yeah," V chimes in. "We were so surprised when Jung Kook told he had invited you to the concert. Especially since he never let us see you."

I frown. "What?"

"Jung Kook always got mad when we brought you up and even banned your name from being said. Ever since the accident he- "

"Tae Hyung." Jung Kook says tightly.

I look at him surprised. Why would he have done that? Why didn't Jin tell me about it?

"Why did you make up such a rule?" I ask him.

He shakes his head. "It doesn't matter. I was just being stupid."

I stare at him. "Don't be like that. Tell me the truth."

"I told you that it doesn't matter." Jung Kook says and returns to his bowl.

I frown at him and watch as he eats. I huff and get up.

"I need to use the restroom." I say.

I leave the table and go to the bathroom.

Again.

Once again people are hiding things from me. I didn't expect Jung Kook would be one of them. I splash some water on my face and pat it dry with a paper towel. I nearly collide into Jin when I walk out of the restroom.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him.

"I'm checking up on you. You were gone for a while and we got worried since you left kind of upset. Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything is fine. I guess I'm just a little... confused."

"You can tell me anything." Jin tells me reassuringly.

"You know," I say, "I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me."

"That's not what you're really thinking."

I shake my head. "No, it is. I was scared I was going to lose you."

"Pabo. I'll always be your friend." He says and gives me a hug.

"Yah, are you taking advantage of the situation?" I tease.

He chuckles. "Of course not."

"I feel refreshed now. Let's go back."

Jin nods. I was glad that despite his sudden confession the other day, everything was just like before. I didn't have to worry about things being awkward or losing my friend. My smile falters when I see Jung Kook in front of us.

"Jung Kook." I say surprised.

"Sorry." He says bitterly. "I didn't know I was interrupting something."

"Whatever you're thinking, it's wrong." Jin says.

"I think I lost my appetite. I'll head back first."

"Jung Kook, wait. Why are you being like this?" I chase after him as he walks out past the restaurant's entrance.

He's walking quickly and I barely manage to grab the hem of his shirt.

"Can you just stop for a second and talk to me?"

He finally stops and whirls around, almost knocking me off balance.

"What? You said you wanted to talk, so talk."

I'm caught off guard by his rough manner. I had never seen him act nor talk like this.

"Why are you acting like this? I haven't done anything to you. In fact, I'm the one who should be upset."

"What, I can't get upset now? Do I have to act like the person everyone expects me to be?"

I stare at him hard. "Are you going to keep acting like this? Then fine. As long as you keep up this immature act of yours, you can stay away from me. I don't need people who will keep things from me and hurt my feelings."

"Where are you going?" He asks when I turn away from him and begin to walk the other direction.

"I'm going home. Rather than having me ruin the mood, why don't you go enjoy dinner with your group members." I huff.

"By yourself? It's dangerous."

"I'm sure you care."

I don't know why I had gotten so upset.

"Of course I care." He says.

"Yeah, so much that you came to see me when I was at the hospital. You cared so much that you refused to see me for almost an entire year. You didn't even let the rest of the guys see me."

"You don't understand." Jung Kook tries to explain.

"You're right, I don't. So please enlighten me."

"I... I felt guilty. I guess I couldn't face you. But believe me, I thought of you every day. I thought that if I wasn't part of your life, you would be better off."

"Haven't you already said that? Stop trying to make excuses and tell me the truth."

Jung Kook runs a hand through his hair and sighs. "Fine, I'll tell you the truth. I was selfish and jealous. If I couldn't be by your side, then I didn't want anyone else to be either. And especially not Jin hyung. But even all this time he kept contact with you. And now seeing you two so close earlier, it felt like there was no room for me in the picture. Like you had completely forgotten about me...about us."

"Of course I forgot about you, I have amnesia. And you being such an idiot didn't even make the effort to come back to me. Of course there wouldn't be room for you in the picture. Seok Jin oppa is my friend. I was hoping you would be too. I'm only seventeen, I don't know a lot about the world. But what I do know is that if you really love someone, you would fight for them."

"Eun Kyung..."

"How can I believe what you say, when you haven't fought for me once? Are you going to break my heart twice? When will I stop being your second choice?"

"Twice? Second choice?" Jung Kook matters. "How do you know th-"

"I'm going back inside. I think it's time I catch up with some old friends. Do whatever you want."
