Chapter Fourteen

I can't help but feel suffocated as I walk down the hallway. It's like I was being followed. The girls didn't even try to conceal their glares.

I open my locker only to have a bunch of papers fall out. I pick one up. Scribbled in big red letters it says Kill Yourself. It slips out of my hand as I begin to shake. I look around at the others. They all say the same thing. My books are torn and some things are missing. I close my locker and glance around. Everyone is staring. I quickly walk to my classroom and avoid eye contact. I almost scream when I brush shoulders with someone.

"Are you okay?"

I ignore them, unlike my usual self and keep walking. When I finally reach the classroom's doorway someone sticks their leg out and trips me. I fall with a loud thud.

"Oops."

I look up to see Chun Hee smirking down at me.

"You look good there. On the ground where you belong." She says with the same condescending smile she always has.

"Why are you doing this?"

I try to get up but she pushes me back down.

"Doing what? I'm only putting you in your place. A little birdie told me your relationship with Jung Kook oppa goes beyond thr screen. Stay away from him, while I'm saying it nicely."

I look around. All the girls in the classroom had formed a circle around me. Their arms crossed, glares set in place. Then I look closely at what's written on the board. B*tch, slut, gold digger, die. I try to ignore the sudden moisture in my eyes.

"What did I ever do to you? I didn't do anything do deserve this. Slut? B*tch? What did I ever do to you?"

"Me? You didn't do anything. I just hate you. But you wanna know what I find funny? The one friend you had, that you trusted, betrayed you. Who do you think planned all this?"

No. She wouldn't. I shake my head, trying to make myself believe it isn't true.

"S-She would never do that. Hwa Young isn't like that. We're best friends."

Chun Hee laughs. "Please, you call yourself her friend yet you go and steal the guy she likes."

"What?"

"Enough. I can take it from here." Hwa Young pushes through the crowd and stands next to Chun Hee.

I don't know what I was expecting. For her to hold out her hand and help me up. To get me away from here or yell at Chun Hee. But she just stood there and looked at me with disgust.

"Don't look so surprised. Did you really think I'd just forgive you after that day in the hospital? You knew how much I liked Jung Kook. Yet you act like the damsel in distress so he stays with you all night. So that he worries and dotes on you. Was it that hard, to just let me meet him?"

"I never ac-"

"Shut up!" She cuts me off. "You know what I've always hated about you? You always have to be this perfect girl who can do no wrong. You're not some female lead, this isn't a drama. Besides, did you actually think someone like Jung Kook would ever like someone like you? You're nothing. You don't have a dad, you have no money or status, and you aren't even pretty. Which is why I don't understand why so many guys like you. And you don't even notice. It really pisses me off."

I take a shaky breath. "This whole time, I always tolerated you when you got angry for no reason, when you borrowed my things and never gave them back, when you gave me the silent treatment. All because you were my friend. I thought you were better than this."

She slaps me and a tear trickles down my cheek.

"Stop acting like you know me. You're just trash. So don't act so high and mighty."

"Why do you always act like everything is yours?" I ask, trying to stay together. "You tell me to stay away from Jung Kook, but why should I? You don't own him. He's a person, like you and me. Stop treating him like an object you can play with and then throw away. Do you even know that he likes watching movies late at night? Or that he can't sleep when someone he cares about is sick? What do you know, what right do you have? Why should I do what you say!?"

"You b-"

She raises her hand to slap me again but someone stops her. I stop trying to hold back the tears and just let them flow. I hear the bell ring in the background.

"Do you even know how much it hurts to let go of someone you love?" I whisper so low, I doubt anyone heard me.

"Come on, get up."

I look at the extended hand and hesitantly take it. It was the same guy from before. The room grows silent.

"J-Jun Ho..."Chun Hee stammers.

He carefully hoists me up and takes me out of the room.

"Why did you just take that? You should've just walked out of there." He gently scolds.

I wipe away my tears with the back of my hand. "Why are you doing this? You don't even know me."

He shrugs. "So, I'm not going to let someone get beaten down like that. Let me see your face."

I wince as his thumb brushes past my cheek.

"You're bleeding a bit. Her Nail must've scratched your cheek.

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bandaid. He gingerly puts it on and I can't help but feel self concious.

"T-Thanks... Jun Ho, right?"

He nods. "And you're Lee Eun Kyung."

I nod slowly. "How'd you know?"

He points at my heart. ""You're name tag, duh."

"Right."

"And I saw you on tv. My little sister kinda idolizes you now since you hang out with that one boyband."

"Oh. Well thanks. For what you did back there, and now." I say.

"No problem. I'll see you around."

I nod. He waves before walking down the empty hallway. I sigh before heading to my locker. I clean out all the trash that had been put in it and grab my backpack.

I go to the nurse's office and she lets me go home. For a little bit I just wander around. No destination set in place. I end up at a playground and sit on one of the swings. I let myself wander in thought.

Suddenly a pair of hands cover my eyes. I'm about to scream when I hear the familiar voice.

"Guess who."

"Hmm. Min Ho oppa? Or is it Seong Chul?" I pretend to not know who it is.

"Yah, who are these Min Ho and Seung Chul guys? Is there something you're not telling me?"

I laugh. "Gotcha. I already knew it was you."

Jung Kook sits on the swing next to me.

"Shouldn't you be in school? What are you doing here?"

"No school today." I lie.

I didn't want to tell him about what happened earlier. What would he think? His fans are immature, obsessive, and treat him like an object they can do as they please with. Why would he want to hear that?

He pokes my shoulder. "Come on, you can tell me. You're wearing your uniform and you have your backpack."

My cheeks flush, I was caught. "I just wasn't feeling well. I was allowed to go home early."

I take out my pass and show it to him. He nods, letting it go. His gaze narrows down on my face. He cups my cheek, his thumb brushing across where the bandaid is.

"What happened?" His asks, eyes filled with concern.

"I-It's just a scratch."

I look down. Maybe I should just tell him.

"You should be more careful." He says, though it seems like he wanted to say something else.

I try not to make my relief obvious. "So, why are you here? You're a little far from home."

"I came to see you." He says confidenrly, yet his ears turn red.

I blush. "O-Oh."

"Today's our date, remember?"

"How could I forget? I was up all weekend thinking about it." I mumble, feeling bashful.

Jung Kook stands up. He begins to push me on the swing.

"So, I was reading. And there's this really cool place we can go to. We get to make our own cake together. Does that sound fun?"

"Yum, cake. I'd love to do that." I reply.

Anything that involves cake is fine by me.

He sighs in relief. "Good. Because I didn't know if you'd want to do that and I was kinda freaking out. I mean, it's our first date. I want it to be fun and memorable. And I-"

"Oppa, you're rambling." I cut him off.

Jung Kook chuckles. "Right. Okay. The bakery is pretty close so we can just walk."

"That's fine."

He stops swinging me. He bends down and reaches into a bag. I hadn't noticed he had brought that. He pulls out a wig and a pair of glasses. He turns around and puts them on.

"How do I look?"

I burst out laughing. "O-Oppa... what is that?"

He pouts cutely. "Is it that bad?"

"Omo, this is too much. Oppa, why are you wearing that?"

"I have to put on a disguise. Otherwise the media won't leave us alone. I want this date to be free of any paparazzi. Besides, I brought something for you too."

"Oh no..." I stand up and begin to back away.

"Oh yes."

He starts chasing me around the playground. It's a good ten minutes until we both collapse onto the grass, both covered in sweat and out of breath.

"No... fair... You tackled... me." I manage to say between breaths.

"You're the one...who started running."

After we recover from the intense game of chase, Jung Kook takes out my disguise. Which I reluctantly put on. It's a brown wig in a Bob hairstyle and big round glasses. He puts out his hand and I place mine in his.

"To make cake we go."

So far, everything was going well. That was until the flour was brought out. Jung Kook had gotten it from the rack and sat it on the counter. A cloud of dusty flour covered me.

"You look like a white blob." Jung Kook laughs.

A sudden idea comes to mind. I reach into the sack and grab a handful of flour. Before he even notices what I'm doing I throw the flour onto him.

"Who's the white blob now? Oh my gosh, you look like a snowman!" I exclaim through fits of laughter.

"So you wanna play that game. Okay." Jung Kook says, a devious smile playing on his lips.

We start throwing flour at each other until we're both covered from head to toe. The kitchen is a mess and we got nothing done. Yet I can't help but laugh joyously as I look around us.

"We're going to be in so much trouble if we don't clean this up." I say.

He nods in agreement. "Yeah, but it was totally worth it."

I laugh. "You really are a trouble maker."

I step forward to grab the broom but slip on the flour that's on the floor. Jung Kook reaches to catch me but slips as well. We both fall down. Me sprawled across the floor and Jung Kook laying on top of me. I swallow nervously. How did we end up in this position? My heart begins to beat faster as he stares down at me. And I become lost in his eyes.

"O-"

"Is it okay if I kiss you?"

The weight of his words slowly seep in. And I nod. He leans in slowly. And his lips brush upon mine ever so fleetingly.

"How's everything go- oh wow..."

Jung Kook jumps off me and I scramble to my feet. The employee stands there awkwardly, not saying anything.

"Okay, well everything seems fine. So I'm just going to go now. You two can... continue whatever it was you were doing."

I stare at my hands. Too embarrassed to look up. But I can't help but touch my lips. The tingling feeling spreading throughout my body.

"Kids these days." He mumbles as he walks out.

My cheeks are red and I feel nervous to look up at Jung Kook. It was so brief, barely even a kiss. But I could find myself lost in it forever.

"Eun Kyung..."

"Yeah?" I manage to squeak.

"Do you want to go on another date? There's something I want to ask you then."

"O-Okay."

============================

So... first date, first kiss. Good or no? Please tell me if you like this or not. Please. And what do you think Jung Kook's question is? Also, I don't know if that was a good fight or not. And we finally got to meet Jun Ho! Remember him. So I hope this chapter is okay. That's all for now
