6. Peaceful Playgrounds

They emerged into a bright field, surrounded by small, modest homes. Y/N could see the skyscrapers in the distance, but had no idea where they were.

It was quiet, and the field they had fallen into was surrounded by neatly trimmed trees and bushes.

A small path ran through the middle, and there was a small playground in the corner that Y/N's eyes were drawn to.

Everybody who was awake was brushing themselves off - only being Toga, Y/N, and Shigaraki. The rest of them were out cold, splayed out over the grass.

Y/N looked around. "It's quiet here. We should be good for at least a few minutes before we're found."

Shigaraki had fallen to his knees, staring at his hands wide-eyed. "I left him."

He spun around to face Y/N, shouting. "You pulled me away! Why?!"

Tears brimmed in the man's eyes, and Y/N realised that Shigaraki felt much more strongly for All for One than he had known.

Y/N teleported away as Shigaraki tried to attack him with his bare hands. His gloves were clenched tightly in one of his fists.

"Hey, it's what he wanted."

Shigaraki yelled in frustration, tears flying out of his eyes as he made another wild swing for Y/N.

"Just calm down, yeah?" Y/N dodged the attack easily, and Shigaraki growled, attacking like a rabid dog.

Y/N didn't fight back, just letting the man release his pent-up frustration.

After dodging a few more, Shigaraki slumped to the ground, weakly sliding on his gloves. Only then did Y/N approach him. "It was his wish to get you out of there. He went there to save you."

Shigaraki stared up at Y/N, a scared look in his eyes. "He's going to lose. His body is still weak, and All Might is as powerful as ever."

Y/N pursed his lips. "It doesn't matter whether he wins or loses. You have to carry on what he stands for no matter what."

"I'm not strong enough to."

Y/N grabbed the man and pulled him to his feet, looking him in the eye. "You have to be. Because without people like you, the heroes win."

He gulped, and nodded slowly.

"Good." Y/N let him go, looking over at the small playground in the corner. "How about we go over there? You can relax a bit while the rest of them wake up, I'll keep watch."

Shigaraki nodded again, and the two of them walked over to the playground side by side.

There was a sharp squeal of delight, and both the males felt a hand clamp down on their shoulders.

Toga poked her head between them. "We get to go to a park?!"

Y/N pried her hands off of him. "You can go and play if you want, but just don't disturb Shigaraki."

"Yay!"

She ran on ahead like a child, hopping onto a seesaw and messing around by herself.

Shigaraki sat down on a bench, placing his elbows on his knees and cradling his head in his hands. "I'm tired."

"Go to sleep then." Y/N gave the most simple answer.

The man ran his hands through his white hair, sighing deeply and closing his eyes for a second. He did look worn out, but Y/N had just assumed it was because of their narrow escape.

"Maybe I should..." Shigaraki went silent, and Y/N sat down next to him, making sure not to disturb the man as he drifted off.

Y/N looked out over the park as Toga ran over to the swings, kicking off the floor to swing herself.

It didn't work very well, and she glanced over at Y/N with visible frustration. "Can you push me?

Y/N didn't reply, and Toga groaned, before putting on a sickly sweet expression. "Pleeeease, Onii-San?"

The boy's face flushed red. God, now I know why Dabi hates it too. It's so... embarrassing.

He nodded and made his way over to Toga, giving her a push with his left hand that sent her swinging high into the air.

She giggled, and Y/N moved aside as she came back down, looking at the sleeping figure of Shigaraki and the unconscious rest of the League.

He smiled to himself.

Maybe this isn't so bad.
