63 - Claude's will

"Why...?" I asked Duncan who was sitting on the other side of the glass panel.

"What do you mean? Aren't you glad he is dead?" Duncan said.

"Why did you kill him...?" I asked.

Lucas was beside me because my own mental state cannot hold its own right now.

"He said "She is no daughter of mine." Aren't you mad?" Duncan asked me.

"You killed him, because he said that...?" I asked.

"I don't get why you aren't happy!? He didn't even acknowledge you as a daughter!?" Duncan said as if I was crazy.

"Even if he was worried killing him was extreme." I replied.

"Why? If you dont like someone just kill them." Duncan said..

"That's not how it works..." I mumbled.

I had forced what was inside the box out of Lucas.

Which may have included threats and ignoring him for a few hours.

"I don't get it...? Shouldn't you be happy?" Duncan asked.

"Athanasia. Let's leave. We are going nowhere in this conversation..." Lucas told me.

  "Wait! Lucas!" Duncan yelled.

  Lucas looked at Duncan.

He was basically glaring at Duncan at this point.

"You've forgiven me... Right?" Duncan pleaded with Lucas.

Lucas gave him a cold expression.

"After what you've done to mum? Dream on." Lucas spoke with words coming out like venom.

"What...? But I helped you girlfriend!?" Duncan said.

  I flinched.

"Were you stalking us...?" I asked.

"Stalking? I'm just watching my son! What's wrong with that?" Duncan said.

"I'm not your son!" Lucas spoke sternly.

"Lucas! You can't deny our blood!" Duncan reasoned.

"Blood means nothing to me if you can't care for them." Lucas said before he turned around and went out of the room.

  I sighed.

  Lucas hates Duncan.

  And I understand why...

"Lucas! Wait! Please!" Duncan's pleases went into deaf ears.

"Athanasia, you'll persuade him for me right?" Duncan asked.

  I found him pitiful...

  Just like dad...

  But the difference was..

  I didn't pity him.

  He deserved this.

'"No, I'm afriad you'll have to do that yourself."'

"No, I'm afriad you'll have to do that yourself" I said as I went out of the room.

I saw Lucas at the drink vending machine getting some water.

"The nerve of that guy to call me his son." I heard Lucas grumble.

"Lucas. You okay?" I asked as I took his hand that wasn't holding the bottle of water.

"I'll be fine. I shouldn't even be letting my emotions make me storm out like that..." Lucas sighed.

Miss Aurora raised Lucas to listen to logic not emotion.

"Shall we go to his funeral now?" I asked.

  Lucas sighed and nodded.

"Stop sighing. Come on athy is here, smile for athy?" I said pretending to act cute.

I saw how Lucas blushed for a moment before bursting out in laughter.

I immediately got embarrassed and regretted what I just did.

"I'm leaving." I said turning around.

"Athanasia! Pfft- you have to admit that was both hilarious and adorable!" Lucas said running after me.

"Awe! Is someone red?" Lucas asked.

  "From embarrassment? Yes!" I answered.

"So cute..." I heard Lucas say.

"You sure you wanna drive?" Lucas asked me for the third time.

"Yes. I'm not Jennette, I can drive." I retorted.

I meant no hate towards Jennette.

Just staying a point that she needed to probably take some driving lessons.

Lucas got into the seat next to me as I got into the driver's seat.

Lucas had been driving me for the past few days.

Maybe even more then a week...

  It was my turn.

  I insisted on driving today.

"I wonder what will happen..." I mumbled.

If Father willed his company to Jennette...

  God knows what would happen...

It's either she learns and somehow rises.

  Or she falls.

But non of us know how to manage a company...

I can probably fake knowing how to do things...

  'Just keep going straight.'

But I'm mot sure how I can manage that...

'I would have to quit acting...'

It's only when I was there driving did I realize I literally only had one way.

  'Turn left.'

The way that I didn't want to go...

Acting is sort of my passion after all...

"Athanasia, your zoning out." Lucas reminded.

"It's fine, second voice is managing for me anyway."

"Second voice...? That's what you call your other self?" Lucas asked.

  Shit...

  I didn't notice!

  It completely slipped!?

"Huh..? What do you mean?" I asked playing dumb while keeping my eyes on the road.

"Athanasia, playing dumb with me doesn't work. Plus I already knew they existed. I know who is you and who is her... Which sounds kind of weird considering you two are the same person with slightly different personalities. But still all part of athanasia." Lucas spoke.

  "What...?" I asked.

In my brain I never considered myself as second voice...

I thought of it as another resident in my brain...

"Did you not notice. You argue the same way as her. Sure she's alot more selfish then you but honestly you need to be selfish sometimes. The way you think of plans is also the exact same. You two are the same person." Lucas said.

  I was rendered speechless.

  What...

  How...

I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face.

  '"We are here.""

"We are here." I said parking the car.

"Athanasia... Your crying." Lucas said making me face him for him to whip my tears.

"I'm just... In awe, and happy and I don't even know..." I said as I chuckled and whipped my own tears.

"Awe... Someone's touched and getting emotional." Lucas said.

I felt the hint of mockery but I didn't even care right now.

"Let's go... Let's see what did father write in his will..." I said getting out of the car.

"Do you think Amaranth will come?" Lucas asked.

Miss Aurora said that she would be here if Amaranth changes her mind and wants to come one last time to talk to father.

  "Yes." I said.

I know Amaranth was going to be here for mainly one reason.

To be here with me Incase I have some breakdown.

But I'm not going to break down.

  I have already cried enough.

"Lucas I have a question." I said as we walked towards the venue.

He was wearing just a black T-shirt and black jeans and of course his brown contact lenses.

While I was having black hair and brown eyes along with a long black dress that reach my knees.

  "Hm?" Lucas hummed.

"Why do you call me athanasia and not some nick name?" I asked.

"I guess it's out of habit... Plus athy sounds like a pet name and you aren't my pet. Your my lover." Lucas replied.

  I nodded.

"When should we tell them?" I asked Lucas.

"I'm fine with anytime. So I'll let the decision be in your hand." Lucas replied.

  "Your here..." Jennette said.

We were in the very same place that mum's funeral was...

It was technically a beach house...

  But if worked.

I looked at the blue sea that was to the left of the venue.

'I wonder how mum is doing...'

Mum's ashes were scattered into the sea.

So that she would be free...

Like she always liked to be...

  "You okay?" I asked Jennette.

She showed me a sad smile.

'"Where's ijekiel? Shouldn't he be with you?"'

"Where's ijekiel? Shouldn't he be with you?" I questioned.

  I saw her flinch.

I guess ijekiel was contributing to her currently horrible mood...

"Jennette... Are you going to stay at the house..?" I asked.

"Felix and lily took me in for now... I'm an orphan again..." Jennette sighed.

I'll admit I never saw Jennette as a sister...

  Maybe as a cousin..

  But she was always so...

  Navie...

I couldn't bring myself to like her as a sister..

'"It's fine, You still have me."'

"It's fine, you still have me." I told Jennette.

Jennette gave me a weak smile.

"I'm going to go find ijekiel..." Jennette dismissed herself to my surprise.

  She looked...

  Different...

I don't know how to explain it...

"Hello. I'm Skylar, the lawyer for Claude De Alger obelia. May I see all the people related to Claude De Alger obelia after the funeral?" A lady with brown hair and black eyes told me.

  I nodded.

"Thank you." She said passing me her business card before going of.

  I wonder what he wrote....

~Jennette POV~

"Ijekiel?" I called seeing him looking out at the horizon.

  The view was beautiful..

The deep blue sea along with the amazing sky filled with white clouds.

  "Yes Jennette?" Ijekiel answered.

Why was it only now that I noticed he always was slightly annoyed talking to me.

  I breathed in and out.

  "Let's break up."

  Dead silence followed after.

  I love Kiel.

  Still do.

  But...

  The more I see him...

The more I see how much he doesn't actually like me...

That day when he abandoned me to go see athy...

I felt the jealousy and sadness full force...

But I also saw how much he wanted to be away from me...

  So...

I decided to set him free..

  "W-what...?" Ijekiel spoke.

  He was in disbelief...

  I bet he's so happy...

  So freaking happy...

"I get it ijekiel... You don't love me... I get it... So I'm letting you go... I bet your so happy right now..." I said as tears slowly rolled down.

  He stayed quiet...

  Ah...

  That's a yes I assume...

"Well... I guess I'll stop wasting you time now... Bye kie- ijekiel." I said waving as I went away.

"Are you okay mdm?" A women with black eyes and brown hair asked me.

  I nodded and smiled.

"Just thinking of my dad." I replied.

"Ah okay. You have my condolences.I'm Skylar, the lawyer for Claude De Alger obelia. May I see all the people related to Claude De Alger obelia after the funeral?" Skylar asked me.

  "Sure." I said.

  Dad...

  I love you...

  Thank you...

For treating me like your own daughter...

  I'm sorry...

  I'm so incompetent..

~Timeskip(Athanasia POV)~

"I am Skylar as you all know. And I've gathered you all to read out Claude's will." Skylar announced.

"What's a will?" Amaranth tugged at my sleeve and asked me.

"A will is something like a person's final wishes." I explained.

"Oh! I understand." Amaranth said nodding.

"I will my company over to Jennette de Alger obelia and everything else to be split between Amaranth de Alger obelia and Jennette de alger obelia."

  Ah...

  I didn't expect anything else did I...?

"May I speak?" Jennette raised her hand and asked.

  That's strange...

Normally Jennette speaks without asking for permission.

  "You may." Skylar spoke.

"May I give everything I'm supposed to have to athanasia de Alger obelia?" Jennette spoke.

I stared at Jennette wide eyed...

  In this room...

Was just me, Amaranth and Jennette...

"If you want to." Skylar replied.

Jennette looked at me and smiled sadly.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience I've been these few years..." Jennette said.

'"Jennette... I will accept the company"'

"Jennette... I will accept the company"

  "On one condition." I stated.

"We run the company together. Let's both try and run the company together." I suggested.

"Eh!? But athanasia! I don't even know how to do anything related to running a business." Jennette argued.

Has she just suddenly grown up...?

"I was never raised like that either." I rebutted.

"So... Why don't we help each other learn?" I asked.

"B-But I'll only inconvenience you more." Jennette said.

  I sighed.

'"I'll admit you've been an inconvenience sometimes."'

"I'll admit you've been an inconvenience sometimes."

"But your technically my sister, and I believe we should also go with what father wanted. Don't you agree?" I reasoned.

  "B-But."

  '"Just say yes Jennette"'

"Just say yes Jennette" I gave a fake smile.

  Jennette giggled and nodded.

"I look forward to working with you." I said taking Amaranth's hand and walking out of there.

"Sissy, are you sure this is going to work?" Amaranth asked me.

  I nodded.

Even if it doesn't work it just has too...

  There's no other option...

"She maybe naive but I do not believe that she can't learn." I replied

  Amaranth nodded.

"How did it go?" Lucas asked me.

"At first he gave his company to Jennette and everything else to be split between Jennette and Amaranth." I said.

I could see how Lucas immediately got mad.

  "That darn old men."

"First of all, that makes it seem like I wanted his inheritance when I didn't really care about it. Second of all, you didnt let me finish." I said.

"Jennette wanted to give everything she was going to get to me." I said.

Lucas shared my shock when I first heard it.

"I managed to argue so that she would manage the company along with me. Also she has the inheritance money." I said.

"Then what about your job?" Lucas asked.

  I just sadly smiled.

"It seems like I can only do it part-time now..." I said as I smiled.

"You know you can always ask for help from me right?" Lucas offered.

  I nodded.

I was so thankful for lucas in that moment...

I would have to be doing most of the work at first since Jennette still has to finish the 'Lovely princess' show...

How am I going to manage this....
