In kauravas camp

Duryodhan:- pitamah we have trusted on you. We have lost today.

Shakuni:- I think ganga putr bhishm has forgotten the outh which he gave to Maharaj.

Bhishma:- shut up gandhar Raj I have not forgotten anything. I should get command first then only I can move ahead.

Duryodhan:- pitamah you are the mightiest you can move ahead. You don't deserve any commands. But then to you want a command then tomorrow I want pandavas dead body.

Bhishma:- as you wish.

Bhishma walked out of the camp. His heart was beating faster as how could he raise  his weapons on his own children. He sat down and started meditating to keep himself calm.

On the other side

In pandavas camp

Krishna told Draupadi, “Sakhi, you haven’t seen Pitamah Bhishma since the war has started. Tonight, I want you to go in his camp and ask for his blessing. But do it as I say, cover your face with your anchal and once you enter his camp, straight away touch his feet without uttering single word. Do not forget to cover your face. Now go, and tell me in all the blessings given by him word by word.”

Draupadi got confused and she didn’t know what to make out of it. But she trusted Krishna and left to get blessings from Bhishma. Krishna was smiling as he watched Draupadi depart.

Draupadi, as asked his doorkeeper to enter to the camp of Bhishma. Bhishma was notified of arrival of a woman for blessings by his doorkeeper. Bhishma allowed her in. As soon as Draupadi entered, she moved and touched the feet of Bhishma. Without noticing who she was he gave blessings “Akhanda Saubhagyawati  bhava”  (You will die before your husband or in short words, your husband will have long life).

As soon as she received blessings, Draupadi removed her cover. Bhishma Startled to see her and realized his mistake of giving blessing of long life to her husband. He realized that tomorrow he’ll have to die. So, he gave message for Krishna to Draupadi. He said, “ my dear child, tell Krishna, tomorrow a prahar before end of the war bring Shikhandi in front of me.”

Draupadi narrated whole incidence to Krishna as it was and gave the message of Bhishma. Krishna understood the indication that Bhishma will never raise his weapon to woman. So, he asked to face Shikhandi tomorrow.
