"You good, Smallville?" Lois asked as she nudged Clark's arm, leaning on to his table with her cup of coffee.

Clark sighed heavily and shook his head. He shouldn't have indicated it to her that he wasn't feeling okay. Lois' eyebrows grew together into a concerned knot and she was for sure not going to let him go without telling her what was wrong.

"What's the matter?" She drew a chair towards her and seated herself in front of him.

"Well, you wouldn't believe me anyway" Clark tried ignoring her and started typing away on his computer, only to be stopped by Lois.

"Clark" she stressed further, with an intimidating look.

"Well.." Clark shifted in his seat uncomfortably. "Bruce Wayne is now my neighbour"

Lois didn't mean to but however, she burst out laughing.

"He is your what now?!" She asked in between laughs, to which Clark answered with a glare.

Lois instantly felt bad and tried to stifle her laughter. "Alright, alright. What about it? Why would it bother you?"

Clark sighed deeply. He wondered if he should really tell her. But she was his one good friend. He wanted to believe he could trust her.

"I... I think I am..." Clark said, cautiously weighing every word he said. " I think I am extremely gay"

Lois spilled her coffee on Clark's neatly done table.

"You're what?!"

"Lois..." Clark immediately felt red with embarrassment and started fiddling with his fingers.

"I'm sorry. It's just..." Lois hurriedly proceeded to clean the table with a tissue.

"Clark, are you serious?" She asked, once she processed all the things she just heard.

Clark leaned in closer to Lois and lowered his voice down to a stressed whisper "I'm damn serious and I don't know what to do about it, Lou!"

"But,.. What is the Wayne guy doing in Metropolis and why is he staying in your apartment building and not in some rich suite?!"

"I Don't Know!" Clark whisper-yelled and dashed back in his chair, holding his head.

Lois eyed Clark in a concerned way as he sat there at the verge of crying.

"Hey, Clark" she tried easing up the stress a little. "Maybe it would get better if you try and get to talk to him. I mean, you could be friends"

Clark heaved yet another sigh. "Lois... We got kind of... Physical last night" he said and Lois choked in her own spit.

She cleared her throat and looked at Clark, still shocked. "Well, then maybe, you do have a chance with him" she shrugged, completely ignoring how weird she sounded.

Clark immediately felt the urge to breathe in some fresh air as he felt suffocated.

"Lois, I'm leaving" he groaned and stood up to leave, grabbing his stuff.

"Yeah, Smallville. Go, clear your head"

Clark nodded with pursed lips and stormed out of The Daily Planet.
