Chapter 15

"What's her hair colour?" I asked her

"Brown"

"Eye colour?"

"Blue"

"What was she wearing that time?"

"A yellow skirt and a blue top"

"Uh...and...how does she look?"

"She's very pretty. And she has fringes. And she's about my height. My weight too"

"Okay!" I said,"Let's go find her, Sophia!"

We searched the entire market place but no sign. We even went to her house but she wasn't there. Her house was just opposite the school campus. Her mom wasn't at home. Tired after 1 hour of search, we returned back to the park and----

"I lost my best friend. It's all my fault!" Sophia said, and started crying again. I looked at her.

Best friend? Memories. Please don't remind.

She had a petite figure, obviously she was a kid, but something was different in her. Not in her physical appearance certainly but definitely in t he way she carried herself , even though she was so young.

"No kid. She's here somewhere. Don't worry. I'll help you" I convinced her

"Maryyyy!!!!! Maryyyy!!!!!! Maryyyy!!!! We are here. Near the see saw! Can you see us??? If yes then shout out please!? Marrryyyyyyyyyyy!!!!" I cried out loudly. It was a bit weird as all the elderly in the park looked at me as if saying ' Girl, is everything okay with you? I think your throat is proper. You need not open it that wide to show it to us'. Well, that was me and that was them and their looks and their sarcastic meanings, God only knows.

After about 10 mins of me convincing Sophia that Mary would be back, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a cute little girl with blue eyes.

"I'm Mary! Thanks for your help though, sister." she said

I looked at Sophia. She wasn't there. I got up and saw her hugging Mary and sobbing at the same time.

"I thought you left me" Sophia said

"Left you? Nope never! I thought you left me" Mary said

"Who's she?" Mary asked, pointing at me

"I'm Caitlin George. I study in 9th grade, here, in this school. And I got to know Sophia when she started crying because you didn't return back, probably" I said, pointing at my school.

"Thanks for your support, Caitlin Girl" said Sophia

I didn't expect this. She came and hugged me. She was so tiny in front of me and it was was so sweet of her to hug me. For a second I was shocked, there I was standing and looking at her who was thanking me because I helped her to find her best friend.

I bent down and looked at her straight in her eyes.

"It's okay! You needn't say that" I said, "But your friendship is quite strong. How long do you know each other?"

"She's a new admission and we both have almost same favourites" Sophia said ,"okay we have to go. Bye sis! Thanks again! See you soon!"

Our story was same. I could relate it. But here Mary never left her. Mary got lost. There's a difference.

I got up and and turned around to walk back to the campus. It was getting uncontrollable. This incident just reminded me of us. I quickly ran towards my campus.

I opened the door of my room and banged it hard. I opened my phone to check the time. It was 6:30PM. There were 20 messages. I opened it and found that I was added to a new group called

'Girls Rule'.

I kept my phone down and lay on the bed, staring at the wall. The entire incident replayed in my head like a broken tape recorder. How she cried, how she felt she lost her best friend, how they hugged and how they promised that they would never leave each other.

Old memories of me and Lottie started playing in my head. Tears started forming in my eyes. I just couldn't control now. It was getting too much for me. Lottie was my only hope and losing her after Jason was something I couldn't comprehend and even thinking about it earlier made me get goosebumps.

How we used to tease each other, compliment each other, our long talks in bed, our first day and night together. It was just playing on its own in my mind and so were my tears. I was just crying and couldn't stop. These memories meant a lot not only for me but I know for her as well, at some point of time, in history.

The Inseparable Pair.
