CHAPTER 10

"Thank you for having us," Reyna said.

"Wish we were able to help you during the attack," Nico said. He was sitting next to Hazel, examining her bandage wounds.

"I can't believe Sadie and Carter would do this," Percy said troubled.

"Well they did and we can't just let them get away with this," Clarisse said angrily.

Her boyfriend, Chris, put hand on her shoulder. "Right now we should be tending our friends," he said.

The demigods heard Chris' words, but it didn't keep the anger down in the infirmary. "Maybe they weren't following Carter's orders, and were acting alone," Piper suggested.

"They are rebels," Annabeth said, nodding along to the idea.

"We can expect them to attack Camp Half-Blood next," Frank said. The son of Mars was ready for revenge.

"We'll be ready for them," Percy said.

*************************************

The rebels were celebrating their attack on Camp Jupiter. They forced the Romans to move to Camp Half-Blood for help. Their plan was working. Anna became a respected person among the rebels. Dimitri appointed her his right hand guy. She would lead the next strike on the Greeks.

Sadie sadly watched the celebration from her cell. She wished she could do something, but if she escaped she had no idea where she is or how to get to Carter. Plus, she needed more information from the rebels on their plans. For now all she could do is wait patiently, something she hated to do.

All the rebels stopped partying for a moment. Someone had entered the lair. Carter strolled to a stop in front of Dimitri. "Carter," Dimitri greeted.

"Why did you attack the Romans? That was not apart of our agreement," Carter said.

Dimitri spread his arms out. "You never said I couldn't attack them. I only promised to not kill them," he said innocently.

Carter slumped his shoulders. "Fine. I will go and contact the demigods to set up a meeting now," Carter said bitterly.

"Of course. And don't try anything funny because I doubt you would want Sadie to get hurt," Dimitri said with an evil smile.

"Don't you even think about touching her."

"I won't as long as you do your part," Dimitri promised. Dimitri meant what he said. He wouldn't harm Sadie unless he didn't get what he wanted.

Carter believed him too and left the rebels to continue their party. Dimitri turned to his followers. "We are so much closer to completing our goal. Like I had promised, we will get out empire back and we will show those children of the gods just how powerful we are," he shouted. The rebels cheered in response.

Where are the gods when you need them? The question that rings in the air like an echo. Too bad there wasn't going to be an answer. The gods themselves were scared of the upcoming events. Their plan was to let fate decide or worse, let the Fates decide.
