Chapter 2

Your P.O.V

When I woke up, it was nighttime, and Travis' head was leaning on my own. I looked down and he was holding my hand, making me blush a little.

I tried to take my hand away, but his grip tightened. "Stop faking!" I whisper yelled. His eyes were still closed, but his lips curved into a smile.

Annoying.

"Please let go." I said with irritation, but he didn't. So I just sat there with one hand in his and the other on my stomach.

After a few minutes, he yawned and opened his eyes.

"Oh hey! I just woke up!" He said with a stupid smile.

With a sigh, I tried to make him release my hand again, but when he wouldn't let go, I raised my eyebrow. He shrugged and kept his grip firm.

"Fine." I said as I sat up, yanking on his arm. He grunted in pain and stood up as well. "I'm not losing." He said as he got up to follow me, hand in hand.

Honestly, I liked it.

I blushed at the thought and we kept our hands intertwined until we got to the town square.

When we entered through the gates, that's when I saw Axel.

He was setting up a small booth with a red stone dust symbol on the top.

Red stone, huh?

"Hey (Y/N)!" He exclaimed with a wave. I waved back with a smile, and felt Travis' hand stiffen in mine.

"Hey Axel!" I said back, knowing that people were sleeping. "Is never peg you as a red-stoner." I said with my hand on my hip.

"Yeah, but I am really good at it!" He said with a smile. "Well, what can you do?" I asked, and held a finger and went behind his counter.

When he came back out, he was holding a small machine in his hands.

I gave it a look of bewilderment before he clicked a button on the side.

A mirror flipped up, and then a ballerina was there. She was on her tip toes, with one leg at an angle so that the toes were touching her other leg's knee. She was twirling around on a weird contraption, and a soft lullaby made of clicks and sweet chirps.

My grin widened as I watched her twirl around to the music.

"It's so pretty!" I said with an open mouth. "Thanks! Made it myself." He said with a triumphant smile.

"I love it!" I said, not noticing Travis' tightening grip on my hand.

"Yeah, well. You can come by tomorrow again." He said with his hand behind his head in a nervous matter.

"Sounds awesome." I said with a smile. His face reddened.

"Well, goodnight." He said with another smile. I nodded and waved goodbye.

When we got back to our room, Eliot was at Donna's again.

It was then that I noticed Travis' grip. "You're hurting me." I said, snapping him out of whatever daze he was in.

"Oh. Sorry." He mumbled before dropping my hand and walking over to the bed.

I felt my eyebrows droop a little. "You okay?" I asked as he laid his back against the bed.

"Huh? No, I'm fine." He said while staring at the ceiling with his eyes closed.

I could tell he was lying, but I didn't want to press the matter.

I shook my head before laying down next to him, and staring at him. Thank Irene his eyes were closed.

He just looked so cute when he slept.

"Goodness, am I just that irresistible?" He asked without opening his eyes.

"How did you-" he cut me off with a quick whip of his head and the capture of my lips. His were soft and playful, while mine were caught off guard. I gradually kissed him back, and he lifted his hand up to my cheek before holding it lovingly. I balled up my fists with the material of his shirt with want, and he pulled me closer.

When we pulled away, our foreheads were touching, and my eyes were still closed.

"(Y/N)." He said my name like he truly loved me. It made my toes curl and my face heat up. I made a 'mhm' sound before he kissed me again.

I ran my fingers through his white hair, like I had done it a million times before, even though I haven't, and he held me closer to him with his hand behind my head and his other around my waist. There was hunger I couldn't even begin to satisfy coming from his lips, and he and I pulled each other even closer, as if trying to merge and become one.

I let go for a moment to catch my breath, and he rested his mouth against my forehead.

"We should do that more often." He said with a soft tone, making me chuckle at the stupid suggestion.

"Goodnight..." I trailed off as my sleep caught up with me. "Goodnight." He mumbled, keeping his hands around my body as I curled up against his chest.

When I woke up, I felt his light breathing on the top of my forehead, and didn't want to leave. The tiredness was still in my muscles, and I was actually very very comfy.

I closed my eyes and nestled closer into his chest.

After a few minutes, I felt his hands trail up and down my back.

"Good morning..." I heard him mumble tiredly.

"Good morning to you too." I said with a tired smile.

His touch sent tingles down my body, making my arms sprout goosebumps.

"I'm tired." He said. I nodded in agreement.

After an hour or so of laying down, we both got up and walked to the plaza.

As I left the inn, I noticed Logan talking to Axel before scoffing and walking away.

Axel rubbed the back of his neck before noticing me and Travis.

"Hey (Y/N)!" He said with a wave, in which I smiled and returned the gesture. "That guy is mean." He said with a fake shudder of fear.

I laughed at this. "Yeah, Logan doesn't like anyone at first. He still doesn't like me." I said to try and make him feel better about Logan's stubborn attitude.

"Yeah, well I'm glad you're here!" He said with another cute smile.

"What did he want to talk about?" I asked him. He thought about it for a minute before messing up his hair to resemble Logan's and clearing his throat.

"So, you think you can just waltz on in here and set up shop, huh? You're too young to even know what it's like to be a true merchant, blah blah blah." He said with a low, annoying voice that he used to make fun of Logan.

I started laughing, and as I did so, I felt Travis grab my hand. "Yeah well, nice to meet you! I'm Travis!" Travis quickly said, stepping in front of me.

"Oh. Hi I guess." Axel mumbled, distracted by a small red stone contraption on the counter.

"So you're Axel?" I heard a voice say, and we turned around to see Donna.

Axel smiled a toothy smile before talking to her about his red stone.

Before I knew it, Travis was leading me to the old Phoenix Drop.

Halfway to the gate, we saw Eliot with Zoey, who was showing him a potion.

I was going to wave when we left the small town and went through the gate and into the past.

He eventually let go, and I whipped around. "What was that?" I asked with my hands on my hips, an eyebrow raised.

He rolled his eyes. "He's hitting on you!" He exclaimed as if it was the most obvious thing in the world and I was an idiot for not catching on.

My face reddened at the accusation. "That's a stupid thing to say. He's just being friendly. Not my fault you're jealous." I said pointing a finger at him, accusing him this time.

The tables of turned.

"I'm not jealous!" He said with a glare. I scoffed. "Yeah whatever." I said before shaking my head.

"I'm not!" He kept repeating, but I just rolled my eyes. "He is so flirting! Did you even see how he reacted to me." He said with his hand on his chest in offense.

I just continued to shake my head. "You can talk to me when you stop being jealous~" I said with a finger wave as I walked away.

I heard him scoff before I walked out of sight.

When he was officially gone, a smile etched its way on my face.

Cute.
