Chapter 19

Your P.O.V

There was a scratchy noise in my ears as my eyes shot open.

It was black, and the floor looked to be made of water. I felt the water make the bottom of my feet wet as I took a step forward, awestruck as my foot simply walked on it's liquid surface.

I gulped as I felt the ripple effect on the water before taking in a gulp of air and continuing to walk across the glossy surface.

It was pitch black, so dark that I couldn't see my hand in front of my face.

My cloak flew out behind me as I stomped my way through the blackness.

Then, I heard a low, raspy, slurred voice in the void.

"Get up you lazy brat..." then, almost as if on cue, the darkness faded away, and I was in a throne room.

The walls were lined with quarts, netherrack, lava, and nether brick.

I internally cringed at the man sitting on the fiery throne.

"You're not doing it right you useless spawn!" He yelled at me. I held my hand to my chest as I processed what he had said.

What-

"I'm sorry!" I heard a voice behind me cry. I whipped around and saw a little girl with
(E/C) eyes and (H/C) hair on the floor.

Gashes, scratches, bumps, and bruises decorated her body, and she seemed terrified beyond reason.

"It hurts to get the armor on- ah!" She cried out as the man suddenly appeared incredibly close to her face and grabbed her by the hair.

She screamed and thrashed in his grip, but he only grunted before flinging her across the room.

The child hit the floor and rolled a bit before screaming.

"Shut up you useless brat!" He screamed as he dug the heel of his foot into her back, making her cry out for help.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Where are you?! Mommy!" She kept screaming, making my eyes water.

"Stop it!" I yelled as I ran for the man. I reached out for his back, and made contact.

Or so I thought.

My hand simply went through his body, as if he wasn't even there, and I went careening towards the floor and I squinted my eyes shut as I waited for impact.

When it didn't come, I slowly opened one eye, and then the other with wonder.

A new scene unfolded in front of me. The same girl from earlier was in it again, but she looked older and more mature.

She was kicking a dummy with such force, that it seemed horrifying. Her (E/C) eyes were shining with fury as her (H/C) hair flew around in the air as she attacked the lifeless piece of hay.

"(Y/N)." A deep voice said, and the girl turned around, as did I.

No way...

"What the hell is this?" He asked in a calm tone before flinging a book at the child.

She caught it with ease and looked at it.

It was a journal that was torn to shreds

Fear erupted in her eyes before she looked back up.

Just as she was slapped across the face.

"If you think you're getting away this time..." he paused as he pulled a sword out from his belt and softly dragged it across her cheek.

"...You're dead wrong."

The girl, er, I screamed and bolted out the door as the man only laughed a horrid, evil laugh.

"Alright... let's play a game." Then he walked out and looked for the child.

I followed in horror but I quickly found the child, because I remembered where I hid-

I remembered.

I remember!

I... remember.

The memories came crashing in all at once. Of my father cutting me, hitting me, training me, killing my mother, hurting me, and neglecting me.

The pain in my head was enough to kill 50 men, and I crumbled to the floor almost immediately.

I gripped the sides of my head in pure shock and agony as the flashes went through my head.

The knives.

His claws.

The empty wine bottles.

The dead bodies.

The stabbings.

The killings.

I felt tears cascade down my face, and I couldn't take it.

I laid on my side as I cried. Not only because of the horrible memories, but because it was all I could remember. Just my father and my horrid childhood.

That's it.

"Found you..." he cooed, making my head shoot up.

I watched the girl's eyes widen and then she was yanked up by her arm, and screamed as he dragged the blade across her face.

With one final cry, he plunged the sword into her side.

She screamed and fell to the floor as he only laughed.

His eyes turned a horrible black as he licked the blood off of his blade.

I gasped as I pulled up the side of my shirt to see a scar that was on the side of my hip from a stab wound.

Then, to make matters worse, he placed the bottom of his foot onto the side of her head and pressed.

The child cried out in excruciating pain, and he pretended to not hear as he pressed down harder.

Then, just as it looked like he was about to crush her, he took his foot away.

A red foot mark was on her head as the tears continued to roll down her face.

My own tears blurred my vision as he spoke.

"Next time you think about leaving and going to Irene's side, kill yourself, and save me the trouble." He said as he walked out.

The child's mouth started moving, and snapped me out of my horrified daze.

"Mommy... why did you have to leave? I need you mommy... mommy..." as the child finished the final word, she blacked out from blood loss.

A pair of demons picked her pale body up and ran out the door and down the hall.

"Wait-" I ran for the three figures as fast as I could. So fast that I didn't notice the hallway fade into nothing but black.

I only noticed when I fell through the floor and screamed while squeezing my eyes shut.

I opened both of my eyes at the same time before looking around.

I was in the nether, and I was near the opening of a cave.

I looked around, but didn't know what made this place significant.

It was just another place in the nether, nothing too special-

"If she escapes I'll have all of your heads!" I heard a voice yell from a distance.

I froze in place as a figure made themselves visible, and it was sprinting.

Then, not too far behind the person, was a group of men, running for the person.

The person who was running from the mob jumped over ten foot wide lava pools with ease and when they caught sight of a very steep hill, they nonchalantly sprouted wings and flew high above it while soaring through the air. When the mountain was no longer a problem, the girl allowed her wings to fold back into her torso before rolling on the ground and continuing her sprint.

So it was a girl.

She went sprinting towards me, and I turned around.

Behind me was a portal, much like the one I had seen when I left the nether.

She's trying to escape.

Her face was beat red from so much running, and she was taking the raspiest breaths I had ever heard as she took step after step.

She was running for her life, and I remembered why.

Because I needed to escape if I wanted to live and carry out my dream of living in the Overworld with good intentions.

Not demonic ones.

Her (E/C) eyes were as determined as ever and her katana clanked against her leg as she ran for her life.

She was a few feet away from the cave when she stretched her arm out and reached for the portal.

As soon as her fingers grazed the portal's hole, everything went black again.

It was eerily quiet, save for the pitter patter of my feet as I took step after step towards an unknown destination.

"You were always a fighter..." a soft voice said as the woman spoke.

I froze and my eyes widened.

A soft light came from behind me, but I was too scared to turn around.

It was quiet for a moment before the woman continued, closer to me this time.

"I watched you grow into an incredible young lady, you just didn't know I was there..." she continued as I stayed frozen on the spot, tears tingling in my eyes.

"I loved you from the moment I laid my eyes on you, and I never stopped..."

She was closer this time, but I was still too scared to turn around.

The tears fell from my eyes as I sat there trembling in the darkness.

"But when you escaped, and met people, amazing people, and even found love, I was so happy that you were finally happy." She stopped, right behind me now.

The light shadowed my face as I grit my teeth.

There's no way this is who I think it is-

Soft, fragile arms wrapped themselves around me from behind. They clearly belonged to a woman, and that's when a cry left my throat.

I felt her cheeks lift up in a smile and she laid her head on my shoulder.

"Let it out my beloved (Y/N)." She whispered, and I did.

I crumbled to the floor, not caring if I looked like a damn fool.

My tears escape my eyes as I held my hands to my face.

I watched as a droplet fell to the floor, and then the water rippled.

I screamed, I cried, I yelled, I cursed, and I punched.

I let out the years of sadness right then and there, and I screamed until I couldn't, I punched until my hand went numb, and I cried until my waterworks dried up.

My mom crouched in front of me and cupped my face in her soft hands.

I looked down and took in her features.

She was beautiful, and her skin was a soft
(S/C), and her clothing suggested that she was a healer.

A healer.

My mother was a light magicks user.

I looked up, and she smiled with her (E/C) eyes as she stared into my tear streaked
(E/C) ones.

I sat there frozen as she inspected me.

Her eyes wandered over inch of my face, from my nose to my lips to my eyes, and she stared and stared and stared.

The silence was comforting, and I quietly sniffled before she smiled once more.

"You have a lot of questions, I know, and if I could, I would answer every single one of them. But I can't, and I'm sorry." She said with a frown.

I looked down before placing my hand on hers, which were still cupping my face.

"But, what you need to know, is that everything is a lie. The man who you believe is your love isn't, and the one who is is breaking, and only you can fix his broken heart." She said. I grit my teeth.

"But-" she placed a finger on my lips.

"Save him." She murmured before placing her lips on my forehead.

I felt my breath hitch as a few tears left my eyes.

"I love you. With all my heart and soul (Y/N). No matter what you do, no matter where you go, no matter what decision you make, nothing can change this factor." She murmured against my forehead.

My eyes suddenly felt incredibly heavy as my head drooped.

"What..." I trailed off as the energy to speak left me.

She supported my body as I fell limp to the ground.

She sat down and laid my head in her lap as I realized how she smelled like vanilla and lavender.

And after this, I won't ever smell it again...

This fact sent me another set of tears, and I closed my eyes.

I felt a thumb rub them from my face.

"I love you, so much." Her voice said as I drifted out of consciousness.

Then I was swallowed up by darkness again.

It was quiet before I remembered.

And remembered, and remembered, and remembered, and remembered everything else.

Aphmau, Katelyn, Laurence, Eliot...

Travis.

Travis.

He's hurt, and I'm the only one who can fix him.

Then my eyes shot open.
