CHAPTER 38 / POTIONS AND BROADCASTS PT.1

considering how long this chapter is, i've decided to split it up into two parts. brief mention of smut ↴

IN WHICH LUCINDA SPLASHES A REVEALING POTION, MAKING EVERYONE'S ALTER-EGOS SHINE AND BLOW UP THE OVEN. THEN SOMEONE THEY KNEW TOO WELL SHOWS UP ON THE MORNING NEWS... PT.1

.

THE NEXT MORNING, Zane and Nana found themselves curled up on the carpeted floor, with a large blanket over their bodies. They were still in their pyjamas from the night before when they savoured the chocolate strawberries, in fact, the bowls were still beside them as the sun woke them up.

In an instant, Nana ran right to the ensuite's toilet, lifted the lid and picked up the food from the night before.

"I hate this," She mumbled, as Zane joined her side. The girl rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder and ran a hand through her tangled bubblegum curls.

"Hey if it helps we could have a shower?' Ge suggested as Nana grinned playfully.

"Is that just an excuse?"

"Can't hurt, can it?"

"Well then, I'd be honoured."

~ You can only assume what happened to the pair when the running water ran past their bodies. Once dried and dressed, Nana and Zane headed down to the kitchen for breakfast at nine-thirty.

Greeted by most of the group, who were scattered across the ground floor.
"How was your date last night?" Aphmau asked, watching the couple as they made their own breakfasts.

"Lovely," Nana replied, popping a piece of mango in her mouth that she'd stolen from her sister's plate.

"Well, I hope we can agree that chocolate strawberries are a wonderful opponent to a casual date," Zane spoke up, sitting down by the corner of the large dining table.

"Can't argue with that," Aaron agreed who was sitting in the chair beside Zane.

"Do any of you know where Katelyn and Travis went?" Kasey questioned, from the lounge set-up, across the enormous room. "They're not in their room."

"Maybe they left early to make the most of the day?" Dante suggested.

"I think they would've told someone, if they were leaving," Remmi shot back, wiping her hands down on a teatowel, as Garroth sipped his morning tea. The youngest meif~wa walked back down to the couch, right next to Kasey, who took a mango from her plate.

"Hey! You guys! Cadenza's refusing to let me try out a substituted potion on her. Could I test it on you guys?" Lucinda asked, running down the stairs, and looked around to find someone to agree with her.

"What kind of potion is it, Lu?" Laurance questioned.

"A potion that can turn you into a fox," Cadenza cut in, brushing past her best friend.

"I don't see a problem with that," Aphmau replied, grinning at the idea that she could become a fox.

The door outside opened and Becca waved them a hello. Lucinda called her over and the girl proceeded to the group.

Nana shrugged in response to the witch's question, and Lucinda came closer to harness the potion around her friends. Aaron and Zane were both close enough for the harmless potion to hit them also.

The red-head through it to the ground and the shattered glass turned to glass. The lavender-scented aura absorbed right into each of its applicants.

Zane's aura was a dark grey, Aaron's happened to be a bloody red, Garroth's was a tender cerulean, Kim's was violet, Becca's was a light blue but changed to red, Tatiana's was a blue-grey, while Laurance and Vylad's were different shades of green, Aph's was ivory, as Lucinda's was lavender.

And Nana's was a hallucinating reddish-pink.

One by one, their alter-egos ran through them and exposed their secrets, their appearances changing and modifying, while features popped right out of nowhere.

Fangs dropped from gums and pupils dilated.

In utter shock, Remmi, Kasey, Dante and Cadenza watched as their friends rose in astonishing transformations, some more than others.

The trail continued right out the door, to find itself more victims, but before they knew it, it was famously over.

No words could define how their faces changed from a sigh of relief into worried and traumatised looks as they glanced at one another.

"That wasn't a fox potion, that was a bloody revealing potion," Garroth snapped, appropriately highlighting the British exposure of his hazed voice.
