CHAPTER 62 / THE CARNIVAL

As Nana subconsciously expected, Zane had led her to the thriving sight of the carnival, vividly similar to the one they had attended on their first date.

Nana dropped her jaw in awe, enthusiastically took Zane by the hand and rain in closer. They first bought tickets and entered inside the gates. First, Nana made sure they would play authentic carnival games, such as cup knockdown and horseshoe throwing.

Zane forced Nana to try the almost revolutionary rollercoaster, but there were two, a normal one and a water slide (image above). Nana was hesitant regarding the rides but immediately loved them and wanted to go on them again.

Instead, Zane sent her on the Hurricane, then the bumper carts. They raced against each other alongside at least another two dozen carts, slamming into almost every car and trying to contain their laughter without passing out.

Around half past seven and after a dozen more games, taking their time, of course, they ordered a corndog, fairy floss and slushie each. The pair sat down on a bench and ate as they talked and watched people all around the carnival.

Nana pulled a tuft of her blue fairy floss and popped it in her mouth as she watched a young couple, much like Zane and herself, walk past with a sleeping child on the man's shoulder.

"Wouldn't you want to be like that?" Nana asked nodding her head to the people passing them.

"Like what?" Zane said with a questionable look on his face.

"Like that couple with the toddler," Nana said with a sigh.

"Yeah... but, why are you asking me now?"

Nana took a deep breath and turned to face her fiancee. "I miss the feeling of expecting, you know. Come on, we're twenty-nine, we're engaged, we live together, why not add a child to the mix, again," She suggested taking Zane's hand in hers.

Zane frowned, "Wasn't it you, who said she wanted to take a break from everything? Plus, who says we'll just have one? At least two or three, a little army of mini usses," He answered with a grin.

Nana tilted her head, "I changed my mind about it. We should, but at least three, four or even five. Meif~wa do have large litters, so... But, we have the space and the financials to support them."

"Yes, but first, we'd need to be married," Zane replied trailing his finger down the bridge of Nana's nose.

Nana shrugged, "We still need a date for the wedding."

"Why don't we begin planning tomorrow? But, you know what sounds fun, right now?"

"What's that?"

"Let's try out all the rides, then we head back home," Zane compromised, as Nana smiled and replied with a nod. Zane grinned in response, they threw out their rubbish and headed toward the balloons and darts target.

Zane had his eye on a stuffed bear that he thought Nana would love. After three tries, he'd won it for her just as he predicted and they continued trying out the rest of the games.

They ordered cupcakes, named the stuffy, Bear, and headed home as the rides began closing at half past ten. Even after coming home, Nana and Zane found themselves out on the balcony gazing off into the ocean and constellations.

"You know, your hair looks lovely today," Zane complimented deepening his touch between them and burying his head into her collarbone.

"Well, did you know that your hair always looks lovely? Charming, even," Nana replied, turning to Zane as he raised his head.

"You look breathtaking, per usual," Zane said brushing his nose against hers.

"Really? I wasn't even trying today. But, it's reassuring that you like to see me casually."

"Of course, my love. Plus, I think we sickened the younger stall workers." Nana laughed in response. "But, you're not wrong. I can't wait a moment longer for our kids to be all over the place," Zane said gazing up towards the constellations.

"Oh?" Nana rhetorically asked, pretending to be surprised.

Zane stood in front of her and held her by the hands, locking his eyes with hers. "Let's make a baby."

"Okay, let's do it," Nana replied and they ran inside to their room, locking the door behind them.

I originally had plans for the two-year anniversary to be a smut chapter, but I wasn't very comfortable writing a chapter like that. remember, this is a fluff book, there are supposed to be flurries of cuteness all over the place. so, that's what I did. :)
