Morgan

"We really need to figure this cake thing out. Like we have to figure it out." They're on their way to the bakery, following behind Harry's car.

Time was dwindling down. Six months turned into four, four months turned into two and now here they were, just a little over a month away from the big day.

And she's completely stressed out.

The venue is set, church ready, marriage counseling grueling but still all done, flowers are found, favors are being made and everything is pretty much all set.

Everything except for the cake and the rest of the desserts.

"Calm down. Everything is going to be fine. We're going to figure it out one step at a time, together. Me and you." He raised their intertwined fingers to his mouth to kiss her knuckles as he drives.

The bakery is a small little shop not too far from central Cheshire. The storefront is red-brown brick with the name splayed across it: Little Sweets.

When they get out Harry is leaned against his range rover. Despite their fight he's been helpful, which is odd but still great.

And Colin had been a bit more protective than usual but she hadn't paid it too much attention. Though he was a bit more tense everytime they were around him. She couldn't be too concerned with that though. Not right now.

El and Sammie are already in the shop waiting for them when they walk in. After greeting eachother Harry leaves then comes back with an older looking woman. She's in her mid fifties and she has grey curly hair with a round face and dully blue eyes. She smiles big at them.

"Morgan, Colin this is Barbara. She's the owner and head baker here." They shake hands.

"Nice to meet you. Congratulations. Hopefully we can find just what you're looking for for your wedding."

"We hope so too."

They throw themselves into different choices. So many different cake and sweet choices that she starts to get a bit sick but she keeps on because they have to get this done.

But, since tradition is tradition, Harry opens his mouth and all hell breaks loose.

"I'm surprised football doesn't have a role in this somehow."

"How would that be included in the wedding plans?"

"Just guessed it would be. So how about the incomplete pass on thursday Colin?"

They lost the game against the rams, not threatening them in the championships but making the window opportunity a bit narrow. Colin was still still a bit down about it.

"A mistake. Next week will be different."

"Right. So does that mean you aren't playing or...?" She visibly sees Colin tense and she rubbed his leg. Out of the corner of her eye she can see Harry smirking big.

"Ignore him. C'mon, help me decide. Ice cream or Gelato?"

He shakes his head and looks down at the binder she's staring at with all of their plans. She does still have to finalize food choices for the catering company though.

"Ice cream."

"So Morgan, I saw your magazine cover...the plum bathing suit was really something. I'm sure Colin asked for that at the honeymoon right? So where are you guys going anyway? Quarterback convention?"

"It's none of your damn buisness." Colin seethes, fist balling on the table.

"Harry quit it. You're being really immature right now." Sammie interjected.

"I was just making conversation. So Colin did Morgan tell you she still thinks about me? I guess that's normal when I'm involved in a lot of her firsts. Did you tell him about that Morgan?"

"What the hell Harry?"

"That's it." Colin is up within seconds, standing tall as ever as his muscles roll. He's moving her out of the way and standing over Harry.

"I'm getting really sick and tired of your bullshit Harry."

Harry stands and their almost face to face but Harry's just a bit shorter. This doesn't matter though as the two men stand staring at eachother. Challenging one another.

"Really Colin? Afraid of some competition?"

"There isn't a competition. You're out of your head."

"You stole what's mine."

"Steal? From what I hear I didn't need to do much stealing considering you're too much of a coward to treat someone right."

"Oh and you're going to teach me huh? Other people may be afraid of you but I sure as hell am not."

"Let's fucking test that theory."

She hurried to try to get in the middle of them. She just barely gets Colin to back up a little, and she's trying to calm him down. Sammie and El are holding Harry back a bit and the older women of the shop are standing behind the counter frozen. Good thing the shop is empty except for them.

She lays her hands on his chest, looking up at him as he stares at harry.

"Baby, it's not worth it. Just calm down alright? Calm down." He's still not looking at her and she's still struggling a bit to control him.

"Fuck it." He stops struggling against her and turns, speeding out of the shop. She hurries after him, out the door as he strolls to his car in the parking lot across the street.

"Colin...Colin wait.."

"Morgan" Harry is behind her somehow; following them to the cars.

"Enough Harry."

"Colin."

"I really don't wanna hear it."

"Please baby lets just talk about this..."

"Yeah lets talk." He turns abruptly and stares angrily down at her. It's a bit intimidating but she's not thinking about that as much.

"Lets talk about your ex boyfriend ruining everything. Lets talk about all of our wedding plans involving him. So tell me why in the hell your ex is here helping plan OUR future?"

"Baby he knew the people at the bakery that's all."

"I just wanted to help man." Harry taunts.

"Calm it Harry."

"That's exactly what,we don't need your help!" Colin booms, looking over her head.

"Colin."

"No, look Morgan obviously you're not ready to let go of him so you should just let go of me." He walked away from her and to his car.

"Colin, just come back. We'll figure it out..."

"There's nothing to figure out, the wedding is off." He gets in and drives off. It was quiet for a few seconds.

And she feels her heart breaking into a billion pieces. Everything is falling apart. Right in front of her. He's gone.

"Morgan."

"Please Harry just...leave me alone." She turned to him, tears in her eyes before walking back into the shop.

"Sammie, take me home." She demands, looking to her best friend standing at the table.

"Where's-"

"I'm begging you, just please take me home. Please Sammie..." she nods, her and El packing up. She looks to the old women behind the counter.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we won't need the cake. The wedding is off."
