Brooklyn laid in bed looking up at the ceiling and debated if she was going to school today. She decided if she didn't want to fall behind she should. As she stood quickly started to get ready for the day, not exactly looking forward to going to school. When she got to school she was pulled quickly towards locker by Stefan.

"Whoa! Hands off bunny." she said harshly straightening out her jacket before looking at him and Elena, "what to you possibly need from me?"

"Has Damon talked to you?"

"No and I'm glad. He kind of killed our history teacher. I like Alaric. Why?"

"He hasn't said a word to me either. Every time I try to talk to him, he shuts me down."

"Sucks. Bye now." Brooklyn said turning on her heel and going over to her own locker to get her books out before heading to class. She looked over to her right and saw Jeremy, "hey, bestie. Haven't heard from your in awhile. Your new girlfriend taking up all your time?"

"She isn't my girlfriend. I'm feeling the look today by the way. Very gothy." he said.

"Thanks." she said with a slight smile. The bell rang, "well off I go. See you later, Jer."

The day was dragging by and it was killing Brooklyn, she was dying to be back home and in her bed still trying to get the spell to contact her grandmother to work. She felt the darkness in her heart spreading each day and craved to have blood on her hands once again. She didn't know if this all started because of Damon or because fate hated the young witch. So when the final bell rang for the day and she got in her car to go home she was surprised when she got into the living room and saw two vampires. Anna and her mother Pearl.

"Don't mind me." she said.

"Brooklyn, I heard you were living here. But a witch living with vampires? I didn't believe it at first." Anna said.

"Well, these two vampires hold a special place in my heart. Speaking on the Salvatore he comes my least favorite one now. Damon, welcome home."

"Don't lie to them, Brooklyn. I'm your favorite one. And ever hear of knocking?"

"An invitation wasn't necessary. I'm surprised that you don't have Brooklyn as the house owner or you wouldn't have that problem." Pearl said, "is it just you and your brother, plus the witch?"

"Yeah." Anna confirmed, "how do you keep out unwelcome vampires?"

"Kill them." Damon said. He rushed forward and grabbed Pearl by the neck but she was stronger than him.

"Have a seat, Damon." Pearl said, "I was hoping we could have a word. You may stay, Brooklyn." Brooklyn decided to stay and sat next to Damon on the couch.

"Sure."

"We've taken up residence at a farm house just outside of town." Pearl informed them, "it'll suffice for now."

"All twenty-five vampires? In a small farmhouse? I am surprised you haven't lost some by now." Brooklyn pointed out, "fighting over food and general distaste."

"Not all. Some. I imagine that a few have already left town. Others are probably still in the woods or, like us, acclimating."

"How'd they get out of the tomb?"

"I think the witch screwed up that part of the hocus-pocus." Anna said looking over at Brooklyn, the witch stood quickly.

"Oh." Damon said pulling Brooklyn back down to sit on the couch.

"I understand from Anna that the Founding Families still have a secret council?"

"And you're a part of it." Anna said

"Pfft. That's ridiculous." Damon said, rolling his eyes.

"I've been in Mystic Falls since the comet, Damon. I'm up to speed."

"And so am I." Pearl said, "and now that you've infiltrated the council, I'll need to know everything they know. Starting with a list of names of all the council members and their families."

"And everyone you've supplied with vervain." Anna said.

"Yes, that will have to stop immediately."

"What exactly are you trying to achieve here?" Brooklyn questioned, "taking them off of vervain. There has to be a reason. Are you going to eat them?"

"Mystic Falls is our home. They took that from us. Our land, our home. It's time we rebuild."

"What, are you crazy?" Damon questioned, "that was 1864. Wake up, woman. The world has moved on."

"As a reward for your help, I'm willing to give you what you want most."

"I want nothing."

"Katherine." Pearl said, Damon gave her a face before speaking.

"You wouldn't even know where she was. You've been under the ground for the last 1 1/2 centuries."

"Katherine and I were best friends long before we came to Mystic Falls, Damon. I know how she thinks. I know her patterns. I know where to find her."

"I no longer have any desire to see Katherine ever again. And there's no way in hell I'm gonna play the role of your little minion." Damon went to stand, but Pearl was fast and pushed him back into the couch.

"I'm not asking for your help, Damon. Finding Katherine was just a mere gesture of kindness. The rest is non-negotiable." Pearl said before lodging her fingers into Damon's eyes, him screaming in pain. Brooklyn stood and caused the eldest vampire to get an aneurysm but it didn't last long because Anna pounced on her and bit into her neck. The witch screamed and used her magic to push Anna off of her. Damon dropped to the ground next to Brooklyn, "I have four-hundred years on you, little boy. I'll rip you from limb to limb without even blinking and you know it. I'll be in touch." both Pearl and Anna left and Brooklyn held onto her neck as Damon began to heal.

"Are you okay, Brooklyn?" he asked. Brooklyn only nodded before standing.

"I have homework to do."

"I'm going to the grill." Damon said as Brooklyn walked up the stairs to go to the room. She did her homework until it was near dinner, then went to the kitchen to make herself something to eat. She was alone for once in this house and it was quiet which was a nice change from the irresponsible behavior that Damon constantly did. It dark and Brooklyn sat in the parlor reading from her grimoire and heard laughter. She held her book on her lap but looked over towards the door, to find Damon and Mrs. Donovan making out. She made a noise and they pulled apart, "Brookly-"

"Hey, Damon. Mrs. Donovan."

"I didn't know you were still gonna be up."

"No worries. Just couldn't sleep."

"Brooklyn Bennett. My haven't you turned into a pretty one. I haven't seen your sister around, where is she?"

"Recently our Grams passed so she is out of town staying with some family."

"I'm sorry about that honey. Why are you staying here?"

"Rudy kicked me out."

"Damn. I'm sorry about that to."

"It's okay. I'm gonna go to my room. Don't be too loud. I have school in the morning." Brooklyn said standing up. She was headed towards her room when she saw Matt and Caroline walk through the door.

"Mom?" they pulled apart again from the place on the wall.

"Damon?" Caroline questioned.

"Oh my God, Matt. Oh, my God." the group of four came walking down the hall and all wondered what was going on.

"Well, this is a turn of events." Brooklyn said, earning a glare from Damon. Mrs. Donovan walked out the door.

"I got to--" Matt said to Caroline.

"It's fine. Just go."

"I-I'll take her home." Elena said talking about Caroline.

"Thanks, man." Matt said to Stefan. Everyone looked towards Damon and he downed the liquid that was in his cup before looking over at Brooklyn. She shrugged.

"So goodnight friends."

"Not yet, Brooklyn. Stay down while I walk them out." Stefan said.

"Look what you did? You got me in trouble with Bunny lover!" Brooklyn cried out. Damon shrugged and grabbed the girls arm before taking her back into the Parlor.

"Don't look at me like that." Damon said when Stefan came into the room.

"Are you crazy?" Stefan asked.

"Save the lecture-" Damon was cut off by someone crashing into the window and tackling Stefan to the ground. Both Damon and Brooklyn went into action. Damon pulled whoever the vampire was off of Stefan and Brooklyn gave him an aneurysm causing him to cry and pain, but another vampire came inside the house and pushed Brooklyn to the ground, breaking the link.

"Not again." she groaned. She pulled a piece of glass out of her thigh and held onto the wound, applying pressure to it until one of the Salvatore brother's were available to heal her. These vampires were strong but the brothers were savvy. Stefan was able to stake one of them in the heart, causing the other one to flee.

"Damn it." Damon said.

"Yeah." Stefan examined his wound.

"Uh. I need some help over here."

"Brook!" Damon came to her quickly and bit into her wrist and she took as little blood as possible and her leg wound healed as well as the bite mark Anna created earlier in the afternoon. She stood up.

"I remember them... from 1864. They were in the tomb."

"Yeah. About that." Damon said. Damon told Stefan everything that Pearl had said but stopped when the Stefan's phone rang.

"It's Elena." he said answering it. Brooklyn tuned out the conversation and looked over at Damon.

"What?" he asked.

"Kelly Donovan, really?"

"You jealous?"

"Concerned if vampires can get STD's or not. That's all. Now I really am going to bed." Brooklyn said going up the stairs and to her bedroom. She laid onto her bed in the dark room, refusing to change out of the clothes she had worn all day.
